    Good install. Bags look good on there. I'm looking into replacement bags for my Scout. Have been considering Viking. I do like the easy brackets. Will need to include these whenever I purchase. Thanks for the video. Take care.

      One thing nice about Viking is that they always include the mounting hardware with their bags. I don't see how they sell these bags for the price they do. They look high quality and are a lot less expensive than other bag manufacturers.

    You can get the metal guard that comes in the 69 ci Scout/Bobber/Rogue to help hold the bag away from the belt on your Scout 60

    Watched your video again. I have my bags and easy brackets. Plan on installing today. Went with the Warrior Viking Bags in brown. I'm also concerned with the clearance on the belt guard. Thinking I may go with some kind of spacer between the easy brackets and the bag to shim it out just a bit. Also will use different bolts to install bags to brackets. Shorter so that they don't come in so far. This video is very helpful outlining the steps with the install. Take care.

      Thanks for watching BCB, I’m concerned with the spacing on bags to the belt guard as well. So far I haven’t noticed it bothering anything even with items in the bag, but spacing them out away from the guard would serve as an extra protection from touching the guard.

    These are a good price right now, but the provided bolts do not match the threads as you mentioned.

    • @TechNickRides
      @TechNickRides  Год назад

      Thanks for stopping by. Yes I’m not sure why they don’t provide the correct threads for there bolts. I guess it’s mass produced and they go with one type of bolt threads. Kind of annoying they haven’t fixed that issue yet.

    I got the same bags, Easy Brackets, and Dean Speed sissy bar (no rack though) set up for my '21 Scout. Did you have any problems attaching the Easy Brackets panel to the bag itself? The nuts that came with the Easy Brackets seems to have a lot of resistance. I didn't want to force them down the bolt so I've held off on finishing the install. Looks like you didn't have any problems with them.

    • @TechNickRides
      @TechNickRides  2 года назад

      Hey Mister Sid, thanks for watching. I appreciate it. 😎👍
      If your talking about the bolts and nylon lock nuts that fit between the brackets and the bags. The nylon lock nut should present a little bit of resistance, as long as the thread pitch between them and the bolt are correct and your not seeing them cross thread the bolt, you should be fine. I believe there resistance helps, to keep the bolts from backing off on the bracket. When you go to first thread it’s most likely the nylon inserts being threaded.

      @mistersid 2 года назад +1

      @@TechNickRides Yep, you nailed it - the nylon lock nut! Appreciate you responding so quickly. I'll give it another try today! Great video, and great looking bike! Take it easy!

    Do you have the aeromach heel shifter? There nice with floorboards

    • @TechNickRides
      @TechNickRides  2 года назад

      No I’m still running the stock shifter. I have heard some really good things about the aerotech though. It would probably save my left boot from getting worn out quicker too lol.

    My issue is I have the factory spools w/ the Indian sissy bar. Having trouble finding a solution to mounting after market bags compatible with those spools. I can't be the only one whose come across this issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    • @TechNickRides
      @TechNickRides  Год назад

      Hey j rauas, My apologizes my solution doesnt work since I'm using an aftermarket Sissy bar and Viking bags. However I recommend checking out @Open Roader , RUclips channel. with his video "Aftermarket bags w/factory Scout Sissy bar" , he's came up with a fitment solution for that those exact factory spools your talking about. Hopefully this help you out. Thanks for stopping by.

      At the time I made this video I picked up my Easy Brackets from JP cycles. It doesn’t appear they are available from there site anymore. The specific part number I used was Model: SS-R2. I did find one comparable to the easy bracket from leatherworks. The parts nearly look identical and fit the Indian Scout from 2015 and up Scout (except the Bobber)

      I would reach out to them make sure, hope this helps!

    Thanks for the vid. My wife just ordered us 2 sets of the large Odin bags. Would you recommend M8 55mm flanged hex bolts of using the stock mounting hardware?

    • @TechNickRides
      @TechNickRides  2 года назад +1

      Hey Jeremy
      Thanks for watching! The stock mounting hardware that comes with the bags will mostly be standard size (5/16). Also if it’s like the ones I got from them it was way to long. (70mm) It would pretty much hit the tire once any kind of weight was put on the rear suspension.
      Originally I picked out m8x55 flange hex head bolts, but didn’t full use them nor drill holes in my bags for the stock mounting hardware Viking provided. I ended up waiting on the ez brackets. I would recommend if you were going to use the Viking hardware provided, pick out the m8 bolts and go with either a 45 or 55mm size. I believe the thread pitch is 1.25, and be sure to blue loctite the threads. I cannot speak for on the strength and dependability of the Viking hardware, but hopefully some of this information will help.
