One PS4 exclusive that deserves more love is Gravity Rush 2. It's a sequel to the PS Vita title (which thankfully got ported to the PS4) and it's even better. There's a lot more personality, more content with a bigger map, and refined gameplay that made gravity shifting so much fun. I also had so much fun with taking photos outside of missions. Kat continues to be one of the best video game characters ever due to how lovable and selfless she is. The soundtrack by Kohei Tanaka is breathtaking. The comic book-inspired art direction is beautiful. It's my favorite PS4 game and one of my favorite games of all time. Go play Gravity Rush, folks.
I platinumed Gravity Rush part 1. It was very enjoyable, but the best part of the game was the side missions and challenges instead of the actual story. Which was also pretty good, the story was pretty captivating, but the gameplay was lackluster outside of missions.
Perosna 5 was a game I saw and said “that looks like the best game ever made” and then I got to play Royal through a few months later and said “that was the best game ever made”
Isn't it just the same game with a few extras and another character? I've got persona 5 and I love it but when I heard of Royal I was just kind of pissed. It kind of seems like they released a game while they were still working on it and then once they finished everything they released it again. Like it would have made more sense as a dlc? Not as another full priced game. Or am I misunderstanding what Persona 5 Royal is?
@@silverenphoenix New confidants and extras, yeah, but there's a bit more to it than just that. New personas added, two new arcana added (consequently some personas changed arcana), changed some of the dungeon layouts here and there, added more things to do in Mementos, loads of additional events, Akechi's confidant was COMPLETELY changed, a few extra weeks added on to the end if you meet some unlock conditions, a new location added to the map, a thing called the Thieves' Den which is basically one huge celebration of all things Persona 5, etc. When you start out the game, aside from the intro, the new things are few and far between. But as you progress through the game, you'll encounter more and more new additions, until you reach a point where it's pretty much ALL new. Some of the stuff could have been DLC, sure, but a lot of other stuff really couldn't without rendering your save file completely unusable, considering the changed persona arcanas and Akechi's confidant. Speaking of DLC, all the DLC for the original Persona 5 release are available for free with Royal.
@@silverenphoenix Yeah, I understand :) Wait for a time when it's been a while since you've played it and you're just itching to jump back in and relive the story. That's the best way to go about it, through my experience.

I’m glad you included FF7R. Absolutely loved the game too. It’s a fantastic game and made me rethink what a remake could be. The story and characters are engaging and memorable; it was a joy experiencing them. Also the gameplay is one of the most unique combat systems I’ve seen in a game. It still has some kinks that I hope are ironed out in the next few games, but they have a great base here. Can’t wait for the future parts.
My favorite exclusive is infamous second son. This game is so good and gameplay is so satisfying, the visuals are great and the story is fun honestly, a fantastic PS4 game in every way. It also used the features of the DualShock 4 in ways that most games on the platform don’t which I think is a great thing. In my opinion, the best games on the PS4 are games that utilize most of not all of the system’s capabilities. Games like infamous and gravity rush are some of my favorites for that reason alone. This games is basically Sony’s version of super Mario 64 because it was one of the first major exclusives that did a great showcasing what the PS4 can do.
When "The Stranger" (we'll continue hiding his name) says "I thought you would be bigger." and the twist in that line turns out to be the heaviest foreshadow ever, I was hit in the face so viciously (and I literally knew the Norse myth the twist is using!).

My favorites: 1. God of War 2. Bloodborne 3. Last of Us 2 4. Spider-Man 5. Uncharted 4 6. Final Fantasy 7 Remake 7. Ghost of Tsushima Still need to play Persona, Days Gone and Until Dawn.
I was hoping God of War (2018) would be somewhere on this list. Was surprised it took the #1 spot. I was one of the people who bought it in the first three days and played it for a good two weeks straight. Somehow, I didn't have anything spoiled for me. So when Kratos went back home for story related reasons, I was genuinely shocked at why. Here's hoping the next God of War game is great and that the payoff of a vision of the future pays off.
As a kid that grew up with this generation I feel like I missed a bunch of previous generation games but was able to get serviceable to absolute masterpieces in this one, I may have to be more careful when choosing games to buy, but I'm glad I got these experiences.
@@casual3123 eh, the way you wrote it makes it seem like you're doing the ever present "Haru doesn't get enough screen time" joke only with her character arc.

Persona 5 Royal is my first (and thus far only) game I've completed, and as a player of P3 & P4, P5 has a special place in my heart because its tone and message resonated strong with me.
Somehow, the PS4 still feels new to me. Playing PS1 as a toddler, PS2 as a kid, and PS3 as a pre-teen, PS4 was the first console I was old enough to fully anticipate and get excited for. For me the PS4 will always be the "new" generation in a weird way... can't wait to see what the PS5 will bring.
Digimon: Hacker’s Memory was on PS4 & Vita as well. If you’re into Persona 5 then you should try it out sometime Jirard. It’s not as complex but with experience like yours it’s still a fun time to complete all-around.
I’m really glad that your distancing yourself from persona 5 Royal, I’m sure when you come back and play it you’ll be blown away by the new content and how they fixed the nuances of the original
God of War is probably my new favourite game ever. I nearly platinumed it (I couldn't be bothered finding the ravens). My one criticism is that it could have done with some more enemy types (a lot of recycling at points) other than that it was a flawless experience that raised the bar for gaming.
Last Guardian and Bloodborne were the only reasons I bought a PS4. The other games in this list were great, but I never would have picked up the console without those two!
It's still surreal we were all playing it a few months ago. I fired it up again recently and it hit me again that FF7R exists and is still just as overwhelming (in a good way)
The Yakuza franchise. It's always been very quiet in the west, but so good. Yes, it's not a PS4 exclusive anymore, but I'm glad it's not anymore. Yakuza 0 *GAVE LIFE* to the series over here; to the point that people want Kiryu/Majima in Tekken only after playing 0, and bringing us the beautiful story of 6, an amazing re-telling of 1 & 2, the ports of 3-5, the over-the-top spin-off of Judgement, and the critically underrated crossover of the Yakuza formula with the classic testosterone filled anime classic of *Fist of the NorthStar* . I just wish, for once, that the franchise was more mainstream. Because it surely deserves it.
The first 3 entries read as more of an indictment than praise. I waited until about 2018 before I got my PS4, and it's not because I preferred the Xbone, but because this generation was just so...I dunno. It was missing something. Games that took themselves too seriously, games that iterated on iterations, games that were designed by committee, games that are nakedly trying to vacuum cash out of the weak-willed...There were very few games from this gen that really stood out to me to the point that I can't even think of 10 Nintendo exclusives (Wii U, and Switch) that stood out to me this gen. That's not to say that the whole generation was a wash, it was just really difficult to find diamonds in these badlands. I guess if I rack my brain and consider all 3 Nintendo consoles this gen I could come out with a top-10...
My Top 10 PlayStation 4 Exclusives: 1. The Last of Us Part II 2. God of War 3. The Last of Us Remastered 4. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End 5. Marvel's Spider-Man 6. Shadow of the Colossus (Remake) 7. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy 8. Bloodborne 9. Horizon Zero Dawn 10. inFAMOUS Second Son

10 - Death Stranding 9 - Bloodborne 8 - The Last Guardian 7 - Uncharted 4 6 - Ghost Of Tsushima 5 - Horizon Zero Dawn 4 - Persona 5 Royal 3 - The Last Of Us 2 2 - God Of War 1 - Spider-Man My top 10
My top 3- 3- Spider Man 2- God Of War (really surprisingly good) 1- Ghost Of Tsushima ( I love open world games but damn I loved God Of War so damn much!)

This list and the rest of the comments have made me realize I have played almost no PS4 exclusives (not on purpose, I'm just in backlog hell) I really enjoyed Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I also love Persona 5 and Tales of Berseria, but the former is also on PS3 and the latter is on PC and has a Japan-only PS3 version. So I'll list the ones I'm most looking forward to playing: 13 Sentenals: Aegis Rim Ghost of Tsushima God of War (which I do own) Judgement Sakura Wars Gravity Rush 2 Nioh 2
Horizon Zero Dawn: Also on PC. Persona 5: Also on PS3. Final Fantasy VII Remake: Timed exclusive. It'll eventually end up on PC and possibly even Xbox after March of 2021. So really, there are only *seven* true PS4 exclusives on this list...
Great list! I personally would’ve put the yakuza series (including fist of the North Star and Judgment under that umbrella) on this list. That series for me was a huge part of my PS4 experience 👌

@@nothanks6549 I disagree. Ghost of Tsushima is similar to AC I guess but is also better in just about every aspect... Ubisoft is just a rinse and repeat gaming studio now. And i don't know if you've played AC lately, but enemies now are absolute damage sponges
God of War is absolutely incredible. Can't wait to play through again on a ps5.
And with the new sequel announced God of War is looking 👍
Gow Ragnarok is going to be amazing tooo
Honestly the ps4 was my first PlayStation experience so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I love how even tho the new generation is starting with ps5, a lot of those games are coming to ps4, showing Sony isn’t ready to leave ps4 behind
You really never had a PS2?
All of the playstation consoles have had some incredible games. Definitely worth checking out if you ever get the chance
That's how it is with most generations. They will support the old one 1-2 years after the new one comes out. It just makes good business sense. There is a huge user base o. Ps4 thatwomt transition to the ps5 for a while. They don't want to leave 115milion potential game sales by isolating their game on ps5 which will only have roughly 2 million users by the end of this year.
I’m assuming you’re a tad younger. But if you ever can, get s PS1 and PS2... some of the best adventure games on the 2 and some of the best fighting games ever for the 2
As for the new games, PS5 can play MOST PS4 games is what we’re hearing. So you can possibly get cheaper, older games and then just play them on the 5
Jirard, what you said about FFVII Remake was spot on! I feel the EXACT same way about it! I just hope they make another Uncharted game on the PS5.
I hope it's a spin-off though cuz they ended Nate's story so well.
My favorite is definitely Uncharted 4. Probably my favorite game ever
Very underrated game, easily one of the best storylines I've ever witnessed
@@gamebro5991 what do you mean underrated? that game is praised like hell, and rightfully so.
@@gamebro5991 lol it’s not underrated. It’s a fantastic game but it’s gotten all of the praise that it deserves. It sold incredibly and very few people hated it. It’s not overrated but definitely not underrated.
I really like the first half. The first driving section in Madagascar and the auction house fight is great. But I don't think the second half is as good though. The flashback parts where you have to search the house is just tedious, and I don't like how you're stuck on an island the entire second half as well. And while the first driving part feels open ended, the second one is a lot more claustrophobic.
@bartolemeu malfeitor
@Hamid Mehrdad
The reason I said I underrated is because everyone I've met said uncharted 2 is the best uncharted,

If he had a "Honorable Mentions" section, I'm positive they would have been on that list.
The underrated Judgment, spin-off of the Yakuza series, missing representation in this comment section

I think the weakest aspect of the game is the combat otherwise a really fun game
I platinumed Gravity Rush part 1. It was very enjoyable, but the best part of the game was the side missions and challenges instead of the actual story. Which was also pretty good, the story was pretty captivating, but the gameplay was lackluster outside of missions.
Gravity Rush 2 is great, but I think Nier Automata is better.
Also I personally prefer Wipeout 2048 and Everybody's Golf PS4 too
@@unicorntomboy9736 I prefer all three of those to Gravity Rush 2 as well pal.
Last of us 2, death stranding, ghost of tsushima, days gone, spider man ps4, horzion zero dawn, until dawn uncharted 4, are my favorite
TLOU2 has the worst writing of any game this generation.
@Luca KELLY Hahahaha so true
Perosna 5 was a game I saw and said “that looks like the best game ever made” and then I got to play Royal through a few months later and said “that was the best game ever made”
Easily in not only my top 10 games of the generation, but of all time.
@@Road_to_Dawn Thanks for the clarification. I might buy it when it's on sale but I'm honestly still kind of sore they did this.
@@silverenphoenix Yeah, I understand :) Wait for a time when it's been a while since you've played it and you're just itching to jump back in and relive the story. That's the best way to go about it, through my experience.
I am very glad GoW made it to the top, that game surpassed every expectation I had for it both in gameplay and storytelling.
Considering the material it's working with and what it's trying to accomplish, Bloodborne has my vote as the best game ever made.
It is the best game ever Made in my opinion

@UnjustifiedRecs it is rough but the good type of rough im replaying it again too this will be my 4th time beating the game 🎮
I beat the first 2...great games
WOO! Horizon Zero Dawn represent!!

Horizon: Zero Dawn is my all time favorite game. Nothing will ever come close to how amazing that story is. (Personal Opinion)

I played it on PS Now but I haven't gone back to it after I put PS Now away
I was hoping God of War (2018) would be somewhere on this list. Was surprised it took the #1 spot. I was one of the people who bought it in the first three days and played it for a good two weeks straight. Somehow, I didn't have anything spoiled for me. So when Kratos went back home for story related reasons, I was genuinely shocked at why. Here's hoping the next God of War game is great and that the payoff of a vision of the future pays off.
You forgot to mention that God of War (2018) is getting a sequel for the PS5

Not getting a ps5 anytime soon...still so many great games to play on the ps4!
