1 Important tip that can be super helpful is the "face stab". While running at someone heavy attack, as the dagger is in the attack animation you dash past them. If done correctly it should grant backstab damage.
I use gas with backstab knife cause it blocks vision. For games like cashout, ill bring in smoke instead, but for other stuff, ill have gas so that I can block where they enter rooms, cover my escape and generally just make me able to play more stealthly while still going in for the dash stabs
150+rk played as dagger. The barrel and frag is good, but I always choose to help my team to get in a range I can play with them, so I choosed goo and pyro(gas counter). Of course frag and barrel can do some damage far away when u use dagger, np, that’s ur style.
Ive seen people damage me with the m11 and melee me with a dagger together in one round ?? How tf do you equip a gun and a dagger together? Does someone know?

The problem I have is this can happen in reverse, turning what would have been a backstab into the worst thing ever

For Equipment you should use stun gun invisibilte bomb and you can Choke your last one but i use fire grenades
the combo is sick, sadly only works on controller, the hud doesn't even function on keyboard and mouse

a little late but you can just swap to a gadget and back to dagger, only two button presses

The combo can be done with directional equiping setting without requiring the item wheel

Backstack does 320 damage which can insta kill light and med, combo backstabbing with a quick melee to insta kill a heavy since 320+melee(40dmg)= 360
