Has there been any word on if/when they're changing the way your eyes adjust to the interior ship HUD? It's currently impossible to see on the night side of a planet in most of the ship's cockpits without pinging every second and that's really annoying when 99% of the missions spawn on the dark side of a planet. It's not just that it's dark either, in most cases I can see fine when in third person. I understand that it's realistic for your eyes to adjust to bright lights making darker spaces harder to see, but even now we have dimming lights in our cars for night time driving and I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have dimming HUD's in the 2950's.
@@callsigngrimdoll I'm all for nightvision too. But, if they don't fix the problem I'm referring to by dimming all the lights in the cockpit, the nightvision itself would be blown out, creating the same issue. The displays are just far too bright.

The Main menu and especially Control Settings menu used to be certain way for a very long time. Is it still the case or did they remade it in past few years ? Or is it still the same like it used to.
I'm starting to have a hard time for the hype for all these updates when CIG can't even keep NPCs from spawning in the wall in bunker missions. Can't even finish the priority mission event when they shoot you through the server room walls.
It’s not that they can’t, it’s that they just don’t. It was pointless to do any of that before Squadron went feature complete. And even now it’s pointless as they’re gonna be changing those missions anyway.
your lockers better auto populate with your pre-defined sets of gear such that you don't have to re fill from inventory. it should just auto populate as you have inventory for which ever piece of gear.

If I'm being completely honest, I hope they don't do PIP scopes until that tech improves drastically. In games like Ground Branch, PIP tends to be grainy and impacts performance too much to be really worth it.

Oh man if they get server meshing, i mean actual server meshing, so planets and moons and cities are on their own servers, and we can up player counts to the hundreds... I may have to get back in the game. Was going to not touch it tell after SQ42.
Being built way bigger, and way more detail than they promised 12 years ago. What they promised 12 years ago was just like Starfield is today. But since we players voted for the offer of something so much more than that. We have to wait while they build something better than Starfield. Which took 25 years in the making according to Bethesda. So CIG is building the game engine, tech, and tools, that no one else will, to make this possible. Mean while we have gotten to play with it all these years, for no more than $45.
How is it going to give us a sense of ownership when CIG is just giving items away for free? We're going to have hundreds of firearms given how plentiful they are in the verse- there's no reason to remain attached to an item if we have who-knows-how-many in our hangars or can pick one up at the local seven eleven? I wouldn't hold your breath regarding any desires for the HUD- CIG's so anti-feedback regarding it that they'll just ignore you like they do with other stuff. Remember, sniper glint in the dark, and we're gonna LIKE IT!
We'll want to maintain and clean our weapons... but when you die, you lose everything, so who cares? Nobody will live that long, because all games are live, die, repeat. Are our possessions more permanent now? Is insurance fixing that?
CIG should let weapon lockers be able to clean and maintain the weapons that are in it, or better yet let there be an option in cities and other locations to do so.
Not to offend, but loading and unloading ships as large as the C2 etc sounds like logging in after getting home from work for a game, and starting your second job as an unpaid intern.

Seems like pvp is going to be pay to win. That is to say people who can afford rigs that can do ray tracing are going to have a major advantage in fighting in dark places over people who can't. Honestly this is kinda true for most pvp in SC, hardware advantage is always going to be a factor unless CIG can find a way to level the playing field (eye trackers and hosas/hotas vs kb+m is a good example for hardware advantage in ship pvp)
Somebody having a better computer than somebody else is not CIG's fault though? Powerful PC's with higher performance having an advantage has been an age-old problem for PC gaming since forever. I'm sure there's an argument to be made there about game optimization between as many different set-ups as possible, but at the end of the day, that's just a risk PvPers with a crappy rig just have to accept. In this context, it doesn't make the game pay-to-win.
@@Bailey2468 I say it's pay to win in a sense that someone with better hardware has a major advantage over someone with good hardware (differences in hardware, even in competitive gives typically only provide minor advantages). The rtx lighting is a perfect example. People who can run raytracing will be able to see much more than people who can't, and it's unreasonable to expect all players (including non pvp players) to fork out a bunch of cash in order to avoid being at a disadvantage.

They would also have some kind of nightvision. But they say it is game breaking.
@@callsigngrimdoll I'm all for nightvision too. But, if they don't fix the problem I'm referring to by dimming all the lights in the cockpit, the nightvision itself would be blown out, creating the same issue. The displays are just far too bright.
Speaking of user interfaces. Have not had it installed for few years. Can someone answer quick question to me. The Main menu and especially Control Settings menu used to be certain way for a very long time. Is it still the case or did they remade it in past few years ? Or is it still the same like it used to.
@@DirkLarien I think it's the same from what I remember, it might have changed slightly if it has at all.
@@DirkLarien Really hasn't changed much at all. Much more added to the keybinds list, and game settings though. Not audio or graphics yet.
I hope Planet Tech 5 inclides roads. We really need roads 😅
@@drmilkcow and why would they when they can instead promise a ship and sell it for 1000s.
Would be nice of the bunker mission would work and spawning in the ai....
your lockers better auto populate with your pre-defined sets of gear such that you don't have to re fill from inventory. it should just auto populate as you have inventory for which ever piece of gear.
I can agree. Add that to the to do list and dev time.
Wow...can't wait to see the improvements in game.
will all this be in this patch ? and when is the patch?
Not all.
Late April or early May.
I hope that with vulkan we will see performance increases, specially in linux.
I thought the Vulcan Ship was ready for release and got super hyped for 1.5 seconds… Oh well…
I really hope they open up a furnature store or something so we can really customize our spaces.
Not long ago CIG did talk a crafting system to make furniture. It is tied in with the base building type game play. But right now there are already some items available, fish tank, lockers, work bench and lots of older sub items to decorate with.
@@thePrisoner1000 The very familiar off grid homesteaders, making quality furniture out of nature, is still alive 930 years from now.

Thx for another informative and entertaining vid!
Wait, all of this is expected to arrive in 3.23?
No.
Its a monthly progress report, mixed with 3.23 news.
Still waiting for my hangar 10 years later.
I just really miss the ship customization every type/class of weapon or module is essentially the same as every other with very few exceptions. I know they set them all to equal for SQ42 and until they have ship armor functioning as they want
If I'm being completely honest, I hope they don't do PIP scopes until that tech improves drastically. In games like Ground Branch, PIP tends to be grainy and impacts performance too much to be really worth it.
Love your videos, looking forward to the day you get really excited about CIG changing the game so that if you die you are forced to start life as a newborn and grow up in real time - for realism
as for the UI i love it, idk why but it gives me halo vibes
OMG!! Did you see the Reclaimer munching arm at 12:49? Straight up Alien inner-chompy mouth!
Now I can't unsee that.
Don't let your inner voice speak out like that.
When I noticed the outline of the Hull-C on my MFD, I didn't just pop into a public forum and post my thoughts. I spared so many from seeing it, out of kindness.
Restraint is a virtue.
did they fixed the npcs?
Thats is what some of the hope and hype for server meshing is about.
Then players gonna be complaining they are like John Wick, and to hard.
Is it just me or does that engineering/repair thing seem like it could be better implemented? I don't want to shoot things with magical repair guns. Would rather have a repair kit and maybe an animation with a wrench or something.
Did you forget this is Beam Citizen?
@@QuotidianStupidity And how much more do you want others to complain about the dev time on this project to eliminate them?
Not sure which team you are on.
I'm content with "its ready when its ready".
At the rate the complaints and requests are rolling in, it never will be.
But as long as I can play it, I'm content
@@festersmith8352 I don’t think devs should be eliminated, seems a bit harsh to me.
@@QuotidianStupidity From what I understand, written by a number of game devs. As a project changes focus and reorganizes, devs come and go in the industry.
For Todd Papy it was a choice to leave, to work closer to home.
Some devs aren't required for the next stages.
I imagine some of the network engineering team will be downscaled once all that tech is finished.
Its the nature of the industry.
Plus common in any creation/building projects.
No sense in paying employees you don't need skills from, and wasting money. Something else CIG has been blamed for.
@@festersmith8352 it was a joke mate
I just want ground AI to actually fight back and move around...
All the hope relies on server meshing for that fix.
Then if/when it does work, the community gonna be complaining about the John Wick level of AI, and telling CIG to dumb them down.
In which sense can Vulkan help VR?
Developer at CIG previously said only after Vulkan will he look at implementing basic VR, even if he has to do it in his spare time.....
From what I've heard and read, vulkan runs more efficiently so performance will be better which then helps VR.
OK, I've had enough hype, I need 3.23 NOW.
Any can tell me true state of Ai atm please? Thk
When server performance sucks, which is most of the time, they are pretty dumb.
But when server performance is good, only Chuck Norris and Maverick can save you from the John Wick level of AI clones.
Watch serve meshing news, to follow how that will hopefully fix jank AI.
The anticipation is real!
why alot of people use the tobi tracker? it doesnt look like it will do much

I have to admit I was a little disappointed when it was the Vulcan API and not the Vulcan refueling/ repair ship
Oh man if they get server meshing, i mean actual server meshing, so planets and moons and cities are on their own servers, and we can up player counts to the hundreds... I may have to get back in the game. Was going to not touch it tell after SQ42.
If we hit 800 player tests on Saturday - im scared to see what their plan is for Sunday.
Testing went very well, according to CIG. Tried up to 800, and learned a lot.
Now for some fixes and tweaks and try it again.
#1 Ui thing that needs to die is the subtle shift mobiglass does when you move the mouse around. KEEP THINGS STATIC
What about Org rep?!?!?
So anxious to get ahead.
and here we are and the damn elevators still don't work. So much progress
So where are the other 98 star systems they promised 12 years ago?
Thank you
love all of this
it is a game you need ui
Well the will never stop progressing and this means they will never release it!!🙂
For the algorithm!
3.23 meant to be this month?
April was the last official hope.
CIG should let weapon lockers be able to clean and maintain the weapons that are in it, or better yet let there be an option in cities and other locations to do so.

I disagree. Too much realism is going to be a chore. People hate doing chores. The drinking and eating is already annoying for me. Finally find a place to explore, can't have fun, forgot the water.
Dont forget the water.
@@Bailey2468 Don't forget different quality in ISP's.
Asia servers...
Whoa!
