    A great way to quickly and easily do both maintenance, and even an upgrade on your car is change out the air filter. The OEM paper is fine, but a better quality filter can be an improvement plus is good for the lifetime of your car!
    Lots of great brands out there, but after some research the BMC filters for my M2C seems the right way to go, and is an easy install!
    This is something you can do very quickly from home and everything you need is listed below.
    Required parts and tools:
    BMC air filter for the F8X S55 motor

    Great instructions. I found the interior few T25 screws on the filter case NEED an extension for the driver to get to them. I taped the socket to my extension with some electrical tape to avoid dropping the socket into the engine. Those deep screws grab onto the socket when it's at the slight angle needed to work them loose and don't want to let go.

    Thanks for letting us know what to do. For what it's worth, my 2018 m4 comp has 6 bolts up top, all the same size.

      Nice.. yeah its weird how some models have 2 or 3 at the top of the brace!

    The way you're moving the entire intake pipe and talking about 02 sensors making this job way more than it really is

      Very little.if any difference from just the air filters. It takes different intakes to really change that.

    Is the charcoal filter also a preventative maintenance item? How many miles should one be good for?

    • @BMWDIYGuy
      @BMWDIYGuy  Год назад +1

      Technically you never replace the charcoal filters.. I actually took mine out! 8)

    Thanks for this very helpful video, I just want to ask, how important is it to tighten the brace to specific torque spec. Does it really matter? because I currently do not own a torque wrench.

    • @BMWDIYGuy
      @BMWDIYGuy  Месяц назад

      @elias1208 torque values are pretty low so tight but not over cranked should be fine in general
