Thinking about getting a 256gb 12 Mini to replace my iPod 7th gen, I've run out of storage on it and the 12 mini with an external dac seems like a nice upgrade.
i have 13 mini. i didnt want a iPhone as I don't like apple stuff but they were the only one making small phones. its very good hardware wise but I dont really like ios. i don't understand the obsession with big phones, i think the mini line is the best phone
Still using my 12 mini. If I'll upgrade to anything in the near future, it would be the 13 mini. Absolutely no way I'm buying anything bigger than that
And that is just sad. I switched from my iPhone X to a 13 Mini last year and once I‘ll change again in 3 years or so I hope there will be some kind of new Mini because that phone is just perfect in size.
@@caydnjonesI don’t want an SE though. I want flagship features in a small phone. I don’t want the budget option that’s missing like half the features.
@@lu.schu.syeah whenever they release the newest version of the SE it’s almost guaranteed to be the same as the 13 mini. I don’t get why the huge phones are so popular. I would much rather hold a phone with the mini’s footprint than anything that’s “Max.” And I’m a 6 foot 4 male. I really don’t get how/why tiny girls/women would rather use the ginormous max phones
I've gone through many iPhones, mainly upgrading each year... but once I upgraded from the iPhone 12 Pro to the 13 mini.... I swear, my life changed. The 13 mini is the PERFECT iPhone. it strongly reminds me of the iPhone 5s. I will be holding on to mine until it dies.
@@rurathn5534 yehe, it's not like those nokias or old lgs anymore where you could just keep for however long you want, now this is all just planned obsolescence
I had a 12 Mini and loved it however I do use my phone for a lot of media consumption with various streaming apps so the larger screen of the regular 13 benefitted me when I upgraded to it.
Better Battery Life (Battery Life over anything) , can display Much more Content , I don’t understand people can small Phone , tbh 14 Pro Max is perfect for 1 hand as well
@@Sweatedsiren895”more content” people like you act like you’re split screening and multitasking like you’re on an iPad. You act like you’ve got excel spread sheets open on one half, with a web page on the other and a RUclips video in the corner when in reality, you’re just scrolling through Instagram. If you’re ever at any point like “man, I really need Instagram but just like bigger, I need to see these low res car crash videos but like bigger” you probably have brain rot. 99.99% of people do not take advantage of a larger screen for the simple fact that it is still significantly smaller than any tablet, laptop, desktop, or tv. If you need a larger screen, why would you use for whatever, why would you opt for a phone screen?
A big issue was also the marketing if the mini was the base and the base was called “plus” it would’ve sold more as “mini” suggests budget and missing out
I think a pro mini would’ve done better, most people that can afford the mini can afford a pro as well. As the plus is doing worse than the mini, won’t be surprised that they swap it with the ultra where it’s foldable, 5.4” folded and 7” expanded
@@QnjtGWonQNqVsbYyzjx4 I hope we don’t go the foldable route honestly I’ve tried the folding phones and they’re a cool party trick but not much more than a gimmick unless Apple pulls off a miracle and makes an ip68 folding phone that doesn’t have the feel of plastic on the screen maybe it’d be cool but rn not vibing with the idea
@@glosolothecawolf Is it possible to give the illusion of foldable with waterfall screen that have a small hinge? Maybe Apple can do that. Unfortunately glass is not flexible so foldable have to resort to plastic screen instead. Perhaps we can make a new less rigid glass material, idk.
@@QnjtGWonQNqVsbYyzjx4 possibly but it feels that’d be a lot of work and more money into a gimmick and I’d rather them focus on things such as the chipset and optimization of what they got rather than folding
I love my 13 mini to death. Even after well over a year the battery life is still great too, easily lasting all day. Until Apple either makes another more powerful mini, or support for it ends years from now, I will stick with it. The size is perfect to me
@@123theprodigy5 if my battery life ever starts to get bad, I think I'll actually opt in for paying for the replacement battery. That's how much I wanna stick with this phone
You do know that there are still plenty of android phones that are around hat same size right? I’m pretty sure Asus and OnePlus have 5’8 inch phones. Heck even Google’s foldable, as expensive as it is, at least has a smaller outer display compared to Apple nowadays. Plus there’s also still the Galaxy S10e as well! Yeah it’s not being supported but it’s still fairly usable as a phone AND it actually has a headphone jack to boot.
Sony Xperia 5 V is very premium and has OLED, 120 Hz, wireless charging, SD card slot and optical 2x zoom and top-tier battery life that can last years because you can limit charging to 90 or even 80 percent
Been using the 12 Mini since 2021. It is the best phone I have used. Sure, it still has the notch and a lightning connector, but the size really made up for it. In fact, I never had any of the battery issues that people kept talking about. My dream phone would be something like the iPhone 15 Pro but at the size of the Mini instead. USB-C, little to no camera cutout, and a compact size would be a killer phone. Worst case scenario, the 15 Pro is the closest we’ll get to a great “compact” phone.
I got the se 2020 in who would have guessed 2020. It's mostly fine, but would like to get an upgrade and the se 2022 isn't worth it, because it's like 50% more expensive than my current se 2020 for a better cpu and 5g (which isn't widely available in my country)
@@matthewm2126i’m on my fourth replacement 12 mini due to issues i’ve had with batteries, screens, and more. I am either gonna bite the bullet and buy a 15 Pro or wait for the 16
I have a theory that the new form factor of the mini came out at the wrong time: during the heady days of pandemic lockdowns. People never got to walk into a store and feel how nice it was to hold and use one handed. Even when the 13 mini dropped the following year, cities in late 2021 were still going in & out of lockdown. I got my 13 mini a few months after its release. It’s now my favourite smartphone ever. No regrets.
@@Black-Circleidk about 13 mini, but I think my old compact androids felt much better in hand. Xperia compact series were the best. It's just that their cameras were not too great and processors were sometimes finnicky with Qualcomm's issues in mid 2010s. The battery issues were just the same and it's no longer viable for any manufacturer to make small phones anymore.
@@Lucas_Antar It ain’t that tiny though. The 13 Mini’s entire screen is a fraction bigger than the screens of the Plus iPhones(6-8 Plus which had bezels & home button) that preceded it.
@@bulgom182 doesn't matter to the average consumer small is bad when it comes to screens. That's why 55" became the sweet spot for tvs and now it's creeping to 60"-65" while for phones or went from 4" to 5" to 6.3"
I upgraded from a XR to the 12 mini last year, and I’ve honestly had a very positive experience with it, MagSafe is awesome not having on XR was annoying as the wireless charging struggled to find that sweet spot. But you might say “wHaT aBoUt YoUr BaTtErY?” It’s not terrible and the phone I got is a blue 128gb and the battery I have now is lower in percentage but I get all day use out of it and I got it for $200 cheaper than the regular 12
I have the same exact phone as you, iPhone 12 mini 128GB in Blue. The MagSafe charger KILLED my battery and drained it to 86% battery capacity after only owning it for a year. I ended up getting a battery replacement on 2/8/23 and it’s already on %91 battery capacity. If only the battery life was better on the iPhone 12 mini is not be considering a new phone already. I absolutely adore the size of my mini, it’s perfect and even though it’s a small phone, I still use a popsocket with it for the best possible ergonomics and it works really well for me. It’s a shame the iPhone 15 Pro would be a big size upgrade for me bc apparently the battery life sucks on that thing too so if I really want to solve my battery life issues I’d have to get an iPhone 15 Plus or iPhone 15 Pro Max which is way too big for my hands.
I am one of those who want nothing heavy in my pocket, I own an iphone 13 mini and love it, if I think I don't need a camera or media I just wear my Apple watch for comms
I upgraded from a 13 mini to a 14 pro last year, but ended up returning the 14 pro and buying the 13 mini again! I simply loooove this size. Wish there was a pro mini iPhone
"upgraded" my iPhone 13 Pro with the iPhone 13 mini just before the 15 launch and I couldn't be happier! the experience is so much better with the smaller iPhone where you are in complete control since I have small hands to go with it. not changing my Mini anytime soon
A big factor due to poor sales was the 2020 se refresh. I was very tempted by it and I see a lot of people who got it then were disappointed by missing the 12 mini.
I purchased a 13 Mini to replace my XR earlier this year and it is BY FAR my favorite iPhone ever. I'm a light phone user and easily get over two days of battery on the little Mini. Doesn't weigh down my pockets when I'm out for a walk, feels great in the hand and is the perfect companion to my Mac and iPad with larger screens. Just as I kept my XR for many years, I will be holding onto this Mini for as long as possible. With the leather case, it just feels so good to hold and use. It's a shame they didn't sell better.
The death of the 13 mini was especially sad for me, because if anyone could make small phones work it would be Apple. Long are gone the days of the "Your thumb goes from here, to here" iPhone 5 ads. It's gonna be even more ironic to revisit that ad if the 16 rumours end up being true and the Pro Max increases in size even more to 6.9 inches. It's devastating seeing that our smartphone addiction is leading to a demand for bigger batteries and bigger screens as the years pass, in detriment of actual usability and ergonomics.
I have a 13 mini I bought from Apple just before the discontinued it. And I plan on keeping it for as long as possible. The size makes it the best! Battery life is great.
I’ll never understand why people prefer larger bulky technology. Especially if it can barely fit in your pocket or you need two hands to use it. I grew up in the era when everyone preferred tech to be smaller, more simplistic and user friendly. People were tired of bulky flip phones, they wanted smaller music players like the iPod, then even smaller iPods like the nano. The DS became the DS lite. I’m not sure when this change occurred, but I still prefer small tech. I own an iPhone 12 mini and still have no problems yet. My battery health is a shocking 94%. No need to upgrade anytime soon.
Watched this on my iPhone 13 mini. Best iPhone ever made. My only gripe is I wish it had the telephoto lens instead of the ultra wide. Or maybe just the wide lens. An updated version of the phone with just a 48 MP lens would be awesome!
I love the iPhone 12 & 13 Mini! ❤ I can't bear to walk around with tablets in my pocket, tablets are only used at home. If Apple really intended to drop the Mini variants, let them know that they have lost me as a customer! When practically the last Mini from Apple (13 Mini) will no longer receive updates, I will turn to another brand with small dimensions, even if it is a Chinese product!
@@tydshiin5783 I meant a Chinese design and not a design designed by other manufacturers and made in China due to low costs. Something Chinese like Unihertz Atom L, e.t.c. (Chinese concept).
Same here, but I’m aware we are minority and they won’t cut off their profits to please us, like film and media companies do 😂. I’m only surprised that women with their small hands are happy with today’s huge phones and don’t complain that one hand use is practically impossible.
Im 2m tall guy , but I just love the size of iPhone mini. Finally there was no brick in Your pocket, but a real nice phone. Very practical. Id buy that size-shape again.
The thing is, I feel like if Apple even made the mini the same price as the regular full sized flagship, people who want a mini would still pay it. I mean, at the end of the day you're getting a bit less battery power, a bit less screen real estate, and the additional money could be considered a premium for wanting a smaller device. I need phone manufacturers to realise, I will pay extra for a smaller device, a lot of people will! I don't have very big hands, in fact, I'd say they're rather tiny! A big reason why I didn't want to upgrade to an iphone X, XR, 11 etc was because they're big phones, and I have tiny hands! When the 12 Mini came out, I upgraded to it and absolutely loved it. It is exactly what I was crying out for, a flagship iPhone in a smaller package. And now, I'm at a point where I need to upgrade. My battery is giving out, and frankly it leaves me wondering if iPhones are still the best choice for me, personally. I've been an iPhone user for 10 years now, but there is no iPhone that I want to upgrade to, and I doubt that will change in future line ups.
I went from a SE to a 12 mini, turned in my mini at the end of the lease. I am not a big fan of the SE the battery life was terrible.I regretted giving up my12 mini so much that I continued to check apples web site for over a year ,but it was out of stock. My husband surprised me with a 12 mini for my birthday from Amazon refurbished. It is in awesome condition. I’m nine days in with my mini and couldn’t be happier.
I went from the iPhone 5C to the original iPhone SE then to my current 12 Mini when it released and it was an excellent upgrade for me as I have always loved the small form factor. It’s a shame Apple didn’t continue with the Mini in their lineup, but I’m sure it was not as popular as the other models.
Had my iPhone 6SE for literally years. Battery still at above 80%. Still works brilliantly and fulfils my needs as I also have an iPad. Only need to replace it now as it’s nearly full
just bought a used 12 mini earlier today. coming from an 8 plus im so excited to be able to use my phone with one hand. you kinda settled some buyers remorse i was starting to get but im really happy with my choice now thanks! maybe ill provide an update on this comment in the future
Still rocking my 2019 iPad mini 5 as my secondary device. It still holds up even four years later. Form factor is outdated looking, but the thing still packs a punch
Same.. I honestly want to see how long it will take for this thing to die. The way iPad Os is going, Apple is not giving me a real incentive to upgrade to a newer iPad.
went from the 6s plus to the iPhone 13 mini, and the 13 mini is one of the best phones ever made. the size and overall performance. sure, the battery doesn't last like the bigger and pro models, but, it does pretty much everything those phones do. it makes no sense why they canceled it.
Well, I’ve been a fan of small iPhones myself! I currently have a 12 mini. The issue I face with it that it can’t keep up with my use. The battery needs a replacement now. As it is small, more cycles, hence faster life depletion. I have almost 300 Apps on my phone. It heats up, the flash options turns off when it’s hot, to protect it, I know but it’s annoying. At times I need to restart the phone to bring it back to the optimum running speed. Considering to switch to the 15 Pro 6.1” this year.
This year I switched from original SE to 13 mini. I felt that it's my last chance to get a decent sub 6" phone. Still a bit too big for me, 5S body was perfect. But it's pretty damn good in our insane size obsessed world.
I'm really sad that the mini series is gone. The size was THE argument for me to switch back to Apple after 11 years of Android because I wanted a small premium phone. I bought the 13 mini and simply love it. I hope that the mini variants will some day return.
I actually hadn’t upgraded for a while because I loved the 5.8inch size of the 11pro, it’s not the mini by any means but it definitely made me appreciate the smaller form factor. Recently upgraded to the 6.1inch on the 15 pro and I love the phone but still feel like it’s too big. Wish they would make another small pro iPhone I’d deal with the poor battery life too if the size just felt better in the hand
i just purchased myself a used 13 mini after finding my 12 mini broken and disappointingly found out that they dont carry the 13 mini anymore. any colour, any storage option, even old stock, gone. just gone. EVERYWHERE. i honestly hope the next SE would use mini chassis. would make sense since i assume the development cost is probably not fully recovered yet from both gen sales
Still using my 13 mini and love it. The 15’s don’t offer enough new to entice me to upgrade. I’m really hoping some sort of enhanced mini comes next year with the 16’s. The current SE wouldn’t be a bad hold over iPhone if it was $300 bucks instead of $400+ like it is now.
I was always a small phone advocate. However, I never did buy the 12 mini. There were two reasons why. 1. It was a delayed launch. it launched three weeks after the pro phone, if they had launched it at the same time, a lot of people I think would’ve gone for it, who otherwise went to the pro. 2. A lot of people who want small phones, also want all the features. If they had turned it into a pro mini, that would’ve been an instant seller I’m sure. There was a compromise, they just compared it to the lower end model where there was no compromise. I would’ve easily paid 899, or even the same 999 for a pro mini.
I had the original SE, the iPhone 5s reborn. I loved it. Phones got bigger, and I ended up with an 11. Loved the camera. Hated the bulk, weight, and inability to navigate apps with 1 hand. Then, I got a 12 Mini for my wife at her request and a 13 Mini when I just couldn't stand the 11 any more. Mini phone users are the minority, but we're pretty devoted. I'll just have to wait for the pendulum to swing back to it's-ok-to-make-a-new-Mini. Just like we talk about for tablets with the iPad Mini. The rumors are always that the current model is the last one. And that is premium priced, but its a great device. Which I own, too.
The iPhone 13 mini is the reason I switched back from Android to iPhone (I had the very first iPhone, then iPhone 5, then android, and now back to iPhone). I LOVE this phone. I can use it one handed, and it's light in my pocket. I'm one of those people that likes to do 95% of all tasks on my laptop, so I only own a phone for navigation, emergencies, meeting up with people in person, and a few photos. I don't want to carry around a large brick just to do those couple tasks. I will hold onto my iPhone mini until the wheels fall off haha.
i had my first iphone 2008, 3G(s). The best iphone they ever made - without compromisses was iPhone SE (2016). i still got iphone mini 12, but at the end of the year i will sell it and buy a NOKIA 6300 or QIN F22 Pro. Im sick of having a overprized phone, that disapoint me the whole day in basics like akku & phoneing. a oversharped photo-camera, all things which were better on older phones. dont make it „better“, make it smarter, which means more beautful with head & heart. I need a small phone and will use it with sometime a small tablet. but more less, to get more live back….
I switched from XS Max to 13 Mini, and it took me probably a week to get accustomed to the smaller real estate on my display, but I have never looked back. It is such a convenient form factor, and the design... just *chef's kiss*.
If they had released a mini pro version back in the day with the same cameras as the iPhone 12 Pro, I wouldn't have purchased the Pro Max. However, I bought it for my mother as a birthday gift, and she absolutely loves it to this day.
I got my 13 mini just after the 15s were announced. I was already considering picking up before their announcement. I was very disappointed that I couldn't get it from major retailers, but a prepaid phone brand had them available unlocked for $529. Very satisfied. Coming from SE 2016.
I purchased the 13 mini with 512GB after hearing rumors the mini line would be discontinued. This small form factor is great. I can only hope for a mini pro with Promotion, Dynamic Island, and USB-C in the future 😭
Seems like a great phone with a cult following. I think its cool you can get a 512GB model but I was hoping for a 15 Mini with the Dynamic Island, USB-C (w/ 3.0 speeds), and a 90 or 120Hz display but oh well :/ I have an 11 and a 14 Pro Max (my 13 broke) but I'm tempted to grab a 12 Mini or 13 Mini to hang onto as I think it is one of my favorite devices since iPhone 4.
I went from an iPhone 8 to a 13 mini last year because I loved the size that much. I plan on keeping it until Apple stops updating it, and I hope they have something with a similar form factor when I’m ready to move on.
As soon as the 15 Pro was announced and they dropped the 13 Mini from the lineup, I rushed out to get one from my local Apple Store. I traded in my 14 Pro for it, so I didn't have to pay much. That said, I also traded in my original 13 Mini for the 14 Pro. After a year with the Pro I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by going with the Mini. In fact, I felt like I was missing out on the Mini by going with the Pro. Even my wife liked the size so much she did the same thing. Grabbed Apple Care, so I'll get the battery replaced in a few years if this really is the end of the Mini.
I’d pay more for a mini phone than a big phone because that’s what I want. I still use a 1st gen. SE because of the size. I have a couple of minis also but I think they’re still a little too big so I use my SE 90% of the time.
I have an iPhone SE 2016 and I recently picked up an iPhone 13 mini. I actually prefer the SE 2016... The 13 mini doesn't feel small enough, and it's also way heavier! I guess I'll keep using the SE 2016 until apps no longer install on iOS 15...
Honestly the small phone crowd is likely just like me and hangs on to phones for years and years. I ran the 6S until the 12 Mini dropped. Had the Mini not dropped until a year or even two years later, I would have continued using my 6S because there wasn't a valid upgrade for me, not to mention I heavily used 3D Touch. I can totally see Apple doing cycles of small phones to catch that certain group of people when they're actually ready to upgrade. I have no intentions of moving off my 12 Mini. It works flawlessly and whenever its battery is due for replacement, I'll have it replaced and continue moving. The Mini was so flawless. The ergonomics are unmatched. I loved using my 4S case-less, but I couldn't do that with my 6S, because it was too slippery and awkward to hold because of its rounded edges. The Mini by contrast gave back the grippy gloss glass from the iPhone 4 and the glorious flat edges that is not only easy to hold, but great for durability. This 12 Mini is bloody fantastic to use with no case.
I'm one of the few people that actually prefer a smaller phone than a big one. Just fits comfortably on my small hands. 😅 If only Apple would make Pro mini models, I would buy in a heartbeat. Bad that's never gonna happen though, so that's really upsetting.
theres actually tons of yall, (enough for apple to restart mini/se lines) but they cant convince yall to spend more so they would rather force yall. Me personally, i like the base models since i have smallish hands, but i love gaming so bigger is necessary.
@@blueflame6237there aren’t tons of them lol. The 12 mini made up only 5% of iPhones sold; the 13 sold worse. In fact no company makes mini phones anymore the market isn’t there to support it.
I used the 2016 SE until the 12 mini. Both excellent!😀 I bought a 13 pro and after six months it sits in a drawer. I carry my 12 mini. It’s clean, elegant and easily handles daily computing, communication and photography. I have a 13 mini kept in reserve. I hope the 13 mini will be supported up through 2027-28.
Reading this comment on my loved 2016SE. But I want to switch to a 13 mini soon, I'll pobably end up with a 12 mini though as 13 minis are nowhere to be found.
Always been a 1st gen SE/mini iPhone user, since an iPhone 5 until late-2017 when I upgraded to a 1st gen iPhone SE. Still got said 128GB SE to this day even after upgrading to an unlocked, 128GB 12 mini back in March 2022. Battery life aside (which I'm capable of servicing), I'm more than happy with hanging onto my 12 mini, for as long as I need to. I'm hoping Apple will bring back a mini iPhone biennially while keeping the 5.4-inch form factor, and-if necessary-replace the current SE with it, since I typically hang onto iPhones for 3-6 years, anyways. Outside of one corporate iPhone 12 I also currently have, I've avoided the ever-growing standard-sized and larger models, altogether, since the iPhone 6.
Watching this from my iPhone 13 Mini. It's an almost perfect phone. 1080p with higher PPI (I don't need 90+ Hz fot most things), amazing performance, more affordable, usable one-handed, quality photo and video, amazing build quality, iOS works like a gem with few bugs, water resistant, 5G, MagSafe... The only two flaws are that the Ceramic Shield scratches easy AF and a lack of WEBM support. That's it. It really is an amazing device, and it's a shame that I won't have a small, new iOS option once my contract ends.
I have an SE and I plan to hang on to it til it breaks or apps stop working on it. I didn’t and still don’t care about premium features. I just wanted a small phone with finger print id and apple’s relatively long term support
I’ve upgraded from iPhone 8 to 12 mini. Love the smaller phone. Even the 8 was to big for me but the 12 mini is perfect, fits in my pockets and easy to reach. I’ll hope they’ll make minis again after they hear the mini is still wanted for many users
I had the 12 mini and traded it in for my S22 Ultra. Even though I prefer Android, I really want that little phone back. I really wish there was top tier Android that size.
I’m extremely sad about the death of the mini.. Luckily I have both in my collection, 13 mini (personal) 12 mini (backup personal). The mini’s are perfect for my use and I just love the size. I will always be a die hard fan of compact phones. I use a pixel 7a for work and even tho that’s “compact” the pixel is still a big phone. I love it for work tho. The Google assistant protect me from those unwanted sales calls. 😂
Good video. Great overview! I am going from an iPhone 8, held off and was seriously considering an iPh 13 mini. Smaller form factor and larger screen. However I waited for this year's announcement and then would have had to buy it used. As (you can see) I tend to keep my phones longer so opted for minimum depreciation by ordering an iPh 15.
Got my refurbished, and going to send it back for a completely new one. Love the size, and simplicity. Tired of a big phone weighing my pocket/pants down.
I had a mini for a while and the form factor for me was PERFECT. It greatly helped with my addiction of using my phone, however it had one major drawback for me which was that the battery health, despite being at 98% had aged terribly. With light-medium usage I could no longer get a full day of battery which I needed as I was unable to charge my phone anywhere
I've always been a dedicated Android user and have been for over a decade, but when I bought my first iPhone (13 mini), I never looked back and to this day and never looked back. I hope Apple brings back the mini for those who love smaller phones.
picked up the 12 mini when it first came out. Passed on the 13 mini because it had only been 1 year. Although unlikely, it would be nice to see the return of the mini; say... in the form of the iPhone SE. I'll pick that up with the quickness. Til then, I'll be holding on to my 12 mini.
I bought the original SE on release and held it until they finally launched the iphone 12 mini, both great phones. there is something about small gadgets that are very capable that is just cool. the brick phones just aren't as impressive
I’m on my 2nd 13 mini and when my data plan ends (2 months) I’m switching to Android. Mainly to make a statement because I believe that if there are enough customers leaving iOS to Android, coming from the mini, I hope that’ll be enough to start thinking about an SE4 small. Only proper options are the Zenfone 10 and S23 and Sony 5V.
Watching this on my 13 mini which I just bought back in April💙. I love this phone so much and, although battery life on iOS 17 isn’t the greatest, I don’t think I’ll consider upgrading anytime soon unless Apple introduces a new iPhone SE in the Mini form factor or a new iPhone Mini in general. I love this size and I love having exactly the same features as the regular 13 so, again, unless Apple introduces a new mini in the coming years, I don’t think I’m going to upgrade any time soon!
Got my 13 Mini two years ago, it’s still my favorite device I’ve ever had. I plan to upgrade next year for the eventual 16 Pro, but am definitely holding on to the 13 Mini. It’s too much of a champ to give up
Rocking the 13 mini, its the perfect phone in my opinion, just the right size for one handed use, the screen doesnt feel small at all, was concerned the screen will be too small initially but the phone surprised me in that regard, I dont need anything larger, in my opinion, the 13 mini would be the phone that Steve Job would approve, cuz its a phone! Larger screen, Im just gonna use my iPad, :D
iPhone 12 mini user here. I'm freaking pissed they removed the 13 mini from the line up, right when my battery health is at 79%. I'm hoping the next SE will be a smaller phone, full screen, without touch ID, and maybe even one camera lens.
Great and important video! The reason I switched to Apple is that it introduced the mini version which I love so much. Until Apple doesn't release another small flagship I'm holding to my iPhone 13 mini as long as it's possible. I really do hope that in a year or two the mini lineup will come back to us even if it didn't sell as well as everyone hoped for. Despite that, there's still a big market for mini lovers like me. There's many people out there who need and want a small yet powerfull phone for various reasons... I am a disabled person so I need to have a small yet powerful flagship which I can use with one hand. This is precisely what I have since I switched from my previous Android device (Samsung Galaxy S10e). Although I still don't feel any reason to upgrade in the near future (although I do regret buying the 128gb over the 256gb version) I'm sure that within the next couple of years there will come a time that I would love my Iphone to have all the newest features in the small size of my current 13 mini. This size is simply perfect for me. I really hope and believe that Apple will remember about us in the near future despite all that we hear... All we can do is hope 🙏🙏🙏
One more thing to take into account is that its very difficult to pack flagship hardware into a compact body. Especially for the battery and camera modules.
I appreciate this but Apple can figure it out and it shouldnt be that hard. I'd love an iPhone 15 Mini Pro with the Dynamic Island, a 90Hz display, Dual cameras (48MP 1x + 12MP 3x), USB-C with 3.0 speeds and give it 128GB and 512GB options. People love the iPhone Mini's and I think it is in part due to nostalgia of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5(S)
I knew that the 13 Mini would be the last one for a while, if forever, so I made sure to get my hands on one. Unfortunately, they didn't make too many cases for them (and I'm obsessed with getting new cases all the time for no reason). It's just so much more comfortable to use than the bigger ones for me. Anyway, I'm going to try to keep it for as long as possible. But with planned obsolescence, I'm not confident.
If they continue to catch on folding phones may be the next small phones. I have a Samsung Z Flip and it is more pocket-sized when folded and I can do most basic interactions w/o unfolding it. Then when I do want a big screen I have one.
I love the iPhone 5s. I used it till the end (2020) and when the iPhone 12 mini came out a dream came true I will use my 13 mini until its death in about 5 years and hope that at that point there will be another great small phone (or flip phone)
Had the SE 2020, then 12 mini, then 13 mini and was so upset they discontinued the mini I ran to my Apple store and bought one of the last 512 GB Starlight models to keep in its box until needed, as I value size over everything. Being blind, and using the phone with one hand while using a cane with the other is a gamechanger for me, which not even the iPhone X could manage, and that phone was just slightly too large for my one handed use. Ordered the 15 Pro to test out and see if I like it at all, otherwise I'll return it and get my money back.. I just really like the ideas of USB-C, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB and Lidar for door detection as a result of having a Pro, plus the new Titanium design was something I was forecasting with the iPhone for some time, ever since the Pro phones tipped the 7 oz limit. Too heavy!!! I don't need a brick in my pocket, and cannot stand the Pro Max due to its size and weight. Even the Plus models are hard to hold due to their 3.02 inch width.

I could never go back to a small phone since my iPhone 5s lol. 6s plus 8 plus 11 13 14 pro max (I want a 15 plus next or 16 who knows). Pro phones aren’t really worth it with a plus size
I always think that iPhone 5 is the best iPhone due to its size and build (it fell tons of times, but it survived all the time) until the 13 mini I’m still using now. Before the 13 mini, I had to stick with Pixel 5, with the same reason of pocketable size. Kinda planned to get the 12 mini, but I read the battery sucks. Then came 13 mini to my rescue and I don’t think I’d give it up until another uncompromising great small sized phone in the future. Great video and couldn’t agree more to what you said. Cheers!
My 12 mini is my pocket run around the city phone that does the work, emails, texts, pictures etc. My Samsung S23 Ultra is basically my laptop/computer we used to keep planted on the desk. Love them both, just used differently.
I bought a secondhand 12 mini almost 3 years ago, and I'm just as in love with it now as the day I got it. I knew that this line of small-form factor phones wasn't gonna last long, so I bought it with the intention of using it til the dang wheels fall off. I figure with software updates, I've got a couple more years until I need to upgrade, and with any luck, there will be a new space for smaller phones in the market by then. The 5.4" size just feels perfect in the hand, it bums me out that pocket-friendly options are so few and far between.
Still using my 12 mini & it does everything I need (I upgraded from the SE ver1).. I use an iPad if I need a bigger screen. Hopefully if the sales did peak with the 12 mini & then fade off, we may get an iPhone mini 16 or 18. If my 12 mini ever dies I'll try & find a 13 mini.
I upgraded my 12 mini to the 13 mini this past year, assuming that it wouldn’t get refreshed. It’s a shame, but I’m somewhat hopeful they will return to the mini in a couple years. I hope so at least. The 13 mini has been a nice upgrade over the 12 mini, especially how well it handles staying cool. My 12 mini got hot and dimmed the screen constantly. It’s hard for me to get the 13 mini to heat up and dim.
I think they might cycle every 2 years. We’ve had the 12 and 13 mini, and now the 14 and 15 plus. I think the same decrease in purchases for the minis also applies to the plusses, so we will see a 16 and 17 mini to maximize buyers
The thing is, the plus, even if it doesn’t sell well, sits only $100 below the pro phones which makes it the perfect “stepping stone” for people to rationalize spending more and putting more money in Apple’s pocket. When the minis were around it was a $200 jump which made people “settle” for the non pro phones. Also, more people just want an iPhone with a larger screen so the plus is the perfect thing for people who could honestly care less about the latest features. It’s sad, I daily drive a 13 mini and I think it is the perfect phone (for me) aside from the lack of usb c.
I got the 12 mini the day after it launched. I remember using it for the first time and thinking “they’re going to sell a ton of these!” Obviously not, which is a real shame.
There's something to be said about a definitive, flagship small compact smartphone - and it's a shame Apple isn't selling one anymore.
Who out there is using the iPhone 12 Mini or 13 Mini? How's it working for you, are you disappointed there's so few small options now? And make sure you join the discord! - discord.io/91tech
Apple doesn’t want you to have it.
Thinking about getting a 256gb 12 Mini to replace my iPod 7th gen, I've run out of storage on it and the 12 mini with an external dac seems like a nice upgrade.
There will be a new SE with no home button maybe next year
i have 13 mini. i didnt want a iPhone as I don't like apple stuff but they were the only one making small phones. its very good hardware wise but I dont really like ios. i don't understand the obsession with big phones, i think the mini line is the best phone
There will be a new SE with no home button by then

Ya it’ll prob do fine when the se is just using the mini form factor especially if it’s cheap 🐱

You do know that there are still plenty of android phones that are around hat same size right? I’m pretty sure Asus and OnePlus have 5’8 inch phones. Heck even Google’s foldable, as expensive as it is, at least has a smaller outer display compared to Apple nowadays.

Watching this video on my 2.5 year old 12 mini, still feels fast even on 17.0.2

Or people just dont wanna watch contrnt on a tiny screen.
@@Lucas_Antar
It ain’t that tiny though.
6.3 and 6.9 in will be the new sizes according to rumours
I’m pretty sure Apple will bring this design back on SE

The iPhone Mini should have been the SE series hands down. I will never understand why Apple didn't do this.

I always ask myself what would have happened if Apple had called the iPhone 12 mini just “iPhone 12” and the iPhone 12 “iPhone 12 Plus”.

But why with 512gb…?
12 mini was great when they didn’t offer 120hz. But once that 13 pro hit my hands, there was no going back to 60hz.
If only Apple would make Pro mini models, I would buy in a heartbeat. Bad that's never gonna happen though, so that's really upsetting.
i have big hands but like using my phone with 1 hand so with the scree inflation i need a mini
theres actually tons of yall, (enough for apple to restart mini/se lines) but they cant convince yall to spend more so they would rather force yall.
13 mini owner here and I absolutely love the smaller size. I never want to go back to a standard size phone 😭
I pray the SE 4 comes in a 13 mini package - best replacement for the current SE. With the right price, it would sell like hot cakes.
I just bought a 13 mini! Delivered today.
With light-medium usage I could no longer get a full day of battery which I needed as I was unable to charge my phone anywhere
the silver lining is that less battery life might also help phone addicition since less screen usage typically equals greater battery life.
I've always been a dedicated Android user and have been for over a decade, but when I bought my first iPhone (13 mini), I never looked back and to this day and never looked back. I hope Apple brings back the mini for those who love smaller phones.
It’s kinda sad that the iPhone mini series are discontinued and are replaced by the SE. It’s so much better in so many ways!
picked up the 12 mini when it first came out.
I have actually seen lots of 12 and especially 13 Users in the public but have never seen anyone using a Plus model.
13 mini user. Bought it as it fits in my pocket without weighing me down.
Keep the mini size but make it thicker to accomodate bigger battery. It's gonna sell like hotcakes.
I think they will reintroduce at some point as it seems wiser than release every year with barely minor upgrades.
All we can do is hope 🙏🙏🙏
literally dug online market places just so i could get a hand of iPhone mini 13. Even though it only had 90% battery life, It was so worth it.
@@nateo200the current iPhone 15 doesn’t have half those 🤣
have a iphone 12 mini with a iphone SE 1 gen(backup phone).....works great for me...The Zenfone 10 (Android side) is the best compact around!!!!
I used it till the end (2020) and when the iPhone 12 mini came out a dream came true
I will use my 13 mini until its death in about 5 years and hope that at that point there will be another great small phone (or flip phone)
well if they want my wife to ever upgrade they'll bring it back.
Lmao. Ridiculous
@@ARH0101 Call me crazy, but I'd like to see you walk a mile in my shoes and you'll understand. Mug me, and prepare to meet my laser, and be welcomed into my world with open arms as your eyes are burned by 430 Nm of blue laser light at 40 watts
Why can’t they just have a mini and plus size in the same lineup?
I could never go back to a small phone since my iPhone 5s lol.
6s plus
8 plus
11
13
14 pro max
(I want a 15 plus next or 16 who knows).
How is the battery life on the 13 mini compared to the 12 mini?
@@Karlenk0 definitely an improvement! Not a massive one, but noticeable
still rocking the 12 mini here 🤟 just got a battery replacement and have absolutely zero plans to give it up
Still got the IPhone 13 mini and I have no intention on switching anytime soon
I still have the iPhone SE 2016 and use it as a replacement for an iPod. I also watched this video with it.
