Dany wrote this when she was homesick in Boston where the three of them were attending the summer session at the Berklee College of Music. I think she was 14 or 15 y/o. So, this is one of their older songs, but also one of their best. It is rare in that Dany wrote the entire song. Usually All three of them contribute to the process. Although her family was there with her, she missed being home, the food, her cats, and her friends. The way the song has been rearranged now, it seems more like it's about being on tour, standing in front of the crowd on stage with just her guitar as company. It's amazing cause you can barely hear the crowd in the mix, but you have about 3500 people in Mexico City singing along with her word for word.
Fun fact: "Huele a Melon" is what TW call this song among themselves, because the English title sounds like that when spoken quickly. The Spanish means "smells like melon". Yes, they all have a sense of humor.

I could listen to that guitar solo on repeat all day, it gives me chills. You can literally hear and feel Dany's emotions being transferred from her fingers to the strings.
There's other versions of this song (Madrid and Peru) where the Spanish speaking crowd is singing along in English with her and it's one of the first times the audience knows the words and she's doing everything she can to hold back the flood of emotions she's feeling. You can even see Pao crying a little too but laughing at the same time with Ale. They mention it later in one of the Patreon videos. It's a very intimate and amazing moment between the crowd and Dany (this is the first song she ever wrote, so it's special to her and the crowd loves her so it's special to them too, which is why it's always requested by the audience). This is one of many unique things about following The Warning; they allow their fans a high level of access to how they are feeling and things happening behind the scenes that you normally wouldn't get to see.

As it was a collab with a pop singer they further tweaked the arrangement for their live shows to make it heavier. It's absolutely fantastic to realize that TW's songs are full of gorgeous detail. In this one you can see Dany's brilliant and very sentimental voice and the incredibly beautiful guitar sound of her solo. Sorry I missed your live stream. I was not aware but would have loved to be there. Dany usually announces this song during a live concert as a song that means a lot to her. Agreed, it always shows in her performance. When you react to the Tedx show, it is the 2017 show. When I'm alone is also included in this performance and you will notice that it has been modified since 2017. In my opinion, the better as it brings out more emotion in this version. La compuso Dany para una tarea cuando fue a estudiar a Berkley ya que en esos dias se sentia sola y triste, por eso la letra y demas, incluso si te das cuenta no hay participacion de ninguna de las voces de Pau y Ale solo es Dany quien la interpreta, Dany a explicado muchas veces sobre esta cancion.
