One thing to remember is that the 2014 version is them singing in their second language, learned at school. Always remember that they think and speak natively in Spanish So Ale at 9 years old is less fluent in English than her older sisters. 10 years later, they are much more fluent in English, but there are still words they do not know.
Dany has a weak but apparent accent; Pau and Ale have very little. They are fluent and articulate; the only real clue that English isn't their native language is that sometimes they'll use a word choice that's correct without context but which native English speakers would not. But they're often more clear than interviewers.
@@robertkrawitz8237great comment. It is quite remarkable how little accent they do have. I’ve always been told the younger you start learning a 2nd language the less native accent you will have - generally. I can detect a slight accent with Dany more so when she’s singing certain phrases than Pau or Ale. It’s got to be hard switching back and forth between languages because English and Spanish are so different grammatically. They have said that even when they speak Spanish they use so much Mexican slang that they have to have their Mom check their Spanish language song lyrics for gramatical correctness. Pau was described as speaking Valley Girl Mexican-Spanish during an interview one time which I thought was funny and it kinda sounds like Ale does as well to some extent? I think it’s endearing how they often speak in Spanglish when they get excited. Dany’s English has always seemed to be more formal than her sisters to me and she seems to have a bit better grasp on the English vocabulary than her sisters (she seems to use less Spanglish). I’ve always though they are pretty spot on with their context clues while using their phrasing while speaking in English.
Glad you got to see them when they were so young, before your concert. When you get back, you can dive into the earlier performances. Their Catholic school(all girls) concert when they were 15, 13, and 10yrs old. TEDx Talks 2017 concert. And the documentaries, MayDay in the Making, Tidal Rising, After concert videos, the Vlogs, interviews, Instagram chats, Dany's Midnight Concerts where she just sings and plays her acoustic guitar. There is so much more to see, and you will love every minute of it.

14, 12, and 9. Every reactor I've seen watch it has been stunned. Kirk Hammett: "The drummer kicks maximum ass!" TW's reimagined version is the best ES cover on the Metallica Blacklist album imo and has the most RUclips views. 💥🔥🤘 And...you should watch the mv‼
In 2020 Metallica invited The Warning to collaborate with Alessia Cara (Canadian pop singer) to record a cover of a song from the Black album for their Blacklist album commemorating its 30th anniversary. The instructions from Metallica were to take a song, turn it inside out or upside down and make it their own. They had a deadline of a little over a week to write, arrange, rehearse, record and mix the song. Because of pandemic travel restrictions, Alessia collaborated via the internet from Canada with TW in Mexico. The song is the first track on the Blacklist album. If you get a chance, you should watch the official MV which is well done, and features Alessia more prominently (she sings the first verse). In live performances the high “Oh,oh,ohs” in the background are Alessia on a backing track, not Pau. They actually performed it live with Alessia once last year at The Troubadour in LA. 😎
This early cover is an example of how special this band is. It really showcases all the hard work they put into their craft and the sacrifices they made by practicing over goofing off with friends etc. They really wanted this from such a young age and they haven't lost that drive. The new version is completely their own and that voice you hear singing in the background isn't Pau, it is Canadian singer Alessia Cara who made this cover with The Warning at Metallica's request. The have a video where she joins them at one of their Canadian shows, so who knows maybe you will see her in Toronto.
I like your reactions, I think you're the real deal, you sound exited but you don't overreact, I really hope you have a wonderful time during the concert, I can't wait to see your reaction video about the concert, You rock Ash.... Greetings from Mexico!!!!

One of the biggest regrets of my life - missing out on that video in 2014. How I envy those who had followed their incredibly inspiring journey in real time!!! What a ride it has been for them!!!
Yes, it's been quite the eight year journey for me, knowing every little detail in real time... It's been a unique experience, and it still continues!!!
Yeah, I think I was around when that cover came out I just didn’t really care because I wasn’t a Metallica fan so I just never watched it 😂 how I regret that so much as well
Dany was born with MUY EPICO stank face! They have picture of her as a toddler making it, it's priceless! And every time she performs, she transfers it to everyone listening.
An incredible cover the backing vocals on a backing track from their MV is Alessia Cara a Good Canadian kid lol. Their MV with her is very cool. Metallica told them to make it their own just don't change the words. It's the first song on their 30th anniversary Black album which is all covers. You saw the best version tonight but the MV is also really good. Disciple is the song that I enjoy because Dany and Pau share the lead vocals and it's amazing.
Imagine the pressure on little Ale...her big sisters 3 and 5 years older and already playing for years. Yet she was flawless. I love Ale so much. She's a rhythm BEAST.
This whole show was awesome. As all of their shows that they did and are doing on their tour. I saw them last year with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and Lilith Czar. Everyone that has heard this version likes it over Metallica's.

SO much fun getting to see you experience The Warning covering Enter Sandman. :) The first video is both adorable, and rocks. It is insane how good they were even back then. I love their reimagined version. The official music video for the Blacklist album version is hauntingly beautiful.

Nice reaction Ashlena! This is a portion of a Zoom interview with The Warning done by Bobby Olivier from Alternative Press released August 31, 2022: Seven years after your cover of “Enter Sandman” went viral on RUclips, you appear on an actual Metallica album with Blacklist, performing the same song. How did it happen? PAULINA: Metallica’s management reached out to our management and wanted to invite us to this project. It was just insane. It was a very big, full-circle moment for us. We had a week to do the version and record it, and Alessia [Cara, who also appears on the song] was in Canada, we were in Mexico. [Producer] Matt Squire flew down to Monterrey. Your rendition really reimagines the original with new rhythms and guitar leads. How’d you make it work while still respecting the song? PAULINA: We stripped away everything from “Enter Sandman,” and we just did the chords, and we made it a pop song, just the chords and the lyrics. Then we rockified the pop version so Alessia could have a clear influence and place within the song. It was weird, but it turned out perfect. 🗣 I can hardly wait til you share the details of your 1st The Warning concert with us! 👊🤓
Ashlena, as much as I'm sure a bunch of us would love to see clips of you having fun at The Warning concert, please go enjoy them live. Specially if it's a smaller venue. You will not regret it. 😁😁
You HAVE TO do Evolve. I know you have something against music videos bust you need to watch that one because they self shot it with IPhones. 16 IPhones and 1 drone. Plus, E Olvera is the song they always close their set with so you will definitely be hearing that one when you go to the show. And, during the breakdown, Paulina always demands audience participation.
Actually, Metallica's lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett was the one who commented on the 2014 video and said that about Pau. It wasn't their drummer, Lars Ulrich. Let's not pass on incorrect information to Ashlena.

Loved your reaction ashlena. There will be comments here on the story behind the reimaging of this iconic song. The band is really good at interacting with the crowd, you're going to have a great time! Cheers.
I don’t have much to add that wasn’t already covered but… I like the live version of the blacklist re-imagined cover the best because it’s grittier and they do a great job in building the song throughout and when they drop the hammer at the end it is so rewarding.
James Hetfield's original lyric was about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (Crib Death), when a baby dies inexplicably in its crib. The line, "Off to never never land" was, "Disrupt the perfect family," and the "sandman" kills the baby. Pretty gruesome stuff, so their producer Bob Rock convinced him to change it to make it more accessible and meaningful. The band had a policy of not commenting on each other's individual contributions, but Rock was an outsider and felt free to speak up. To his surprise, Hetfield took it well and altered the lyric accordingly.
Metallica invited 53 artists/bands to cover songs from the Black album and specifically asked them to go crazy and make the songs their own. After listening to all the covers, only a few had the guts to go for it and out of those, The Warning were by far the boldest and made what is to me the best cover of the album, and considering all the well established artists invited, this was no small feat.
Coincidence that it's the first track of the album, but "saving the best for first" definitely applies. Note of the other Sandman covers holds a candle to this; they're at most minor stylistic adaptations without any of the creativity of this. Some of them are barely even that.
The official music video for "Enter Sandman" by Alessia Cara and The Warning is quite excellent. Being included on the Metallica Blacklist album was quite the honor and has helped their career immensely. Skipping the OMV is a curious choice.
I seems to me that Ashlena did not know the song was rearranged, just based on her reaction to the Teatro Metropolitan video. Had she know this she might have added the OMV, also she did say she was time limited so 2 songs = less time than 3 songs. I'm sure she will get to it, with or without us.
The “oh oh oh oh’s” you hear is not Paulina singing. It is actually a backing track and it’s Alessia Cara who collaborated with The Warning on this song for the Metallica Blacklist album.
This is an amazing combination of both versions, it really does show how their talent started so young and has just blossomed! Glad you enjoyed both versions, you’re really in for a genuine lifetime experience very soon now 💯% Edit: fun fact, before the recording of 2014 version Pau and Ale wound Dany up to get her in skank face mode!
To really appreciate their interpretation of this song you need to watch the video with Alessia Cara. It was done for the 30th anniversary of the Black Album. They had less than 2 weeks to rewrite the song and record it and get it turned in for the album. They were told by Metalica to do whatever they wanted to do with the song (make it theirs) they said turn it upside down and play it on your heads if you want, well they turned it inside out and played it kinda backwards switching versus around and giving it more of a creepy eire feel. This was all in the heart of the pandemic so the did everything virtually. With Alessia in Canada and them in Mexico. Since then they have adapted it to this version for live shows since Alessia doesn't tour with them, however she did appear with them one night at the Troubadour in Los Angeles to do the song live with them.
I actually watched The Crazy Train cover first on The Ellen Show before I watched their Enter sandman cover. Followed by Choke. I was hooked. Fell deep in the rabbit hole.😄🤟🤟🤟
They just played The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ last night and from the videos I've seen they killed it. Many legendary bands have played the Pony, from back when I'd frequent it in the seventies like Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny to Joan Jett to Halestorm and so many more.
Enjoy your reactions so much - great job! How incredible was their version!! I'm seeing them in a couple days in Boston - can't wait - 3rd time! I've never been so fully invested in a band . . ever!
The first time I saw this I was captured by Paulina's total concentration on the drums for such a young girl.. That is what made me follow them some, I'm totally amazed as to how far they have come over the years, and I still enjoy their "Rock N Roll." Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Parenting done right. I heard that their father sold his beloved motorcycle to help make the in house studio. I actually got their old video come across my computer as a pop up I guess you'd say, and I was WTF? I was like what kind of fiasco am I going to watch, talk about judging a book by its cover.
Pau does a lot of fitness to keep her coordination, muscle tone and endurance in good shape. She has always done her fitness and running while singing to allow her to sing and do her savage drumming at the same time while still sounding good. It's all a lot of dedication and hard work on her part which just adds to her character and devotion to the craft. I heard her talk about it in answer to a question during one of her older interviews.
Great reaction to two great versions. Ale's gesture at the end has been described as the perfect mix of cute & cool. Cute 'cos it's a little girl having fun with her big sisters, and cool 'cos there's a certain quiet confidence to it. A sort of, "Yeah, nailed it." I do find how the prayer is handled in each version interesting. In the 2014 version it really plays on the fact that Pau and, especially, Ale have "little girl" voices which, to my mind, makes the prayer delicously creepy. In the official video it's Pau speaking the prayer, which is still pretty creepy. (Btw, as others have said, the official video is well worth checking out.) But in the live version it's done by Dany, and - again to me - it sounds as she's almost defying God, daring God to take her soul. All JIMHO. And once agian, great reaction.
they will be playing Enter Sandman at your show

@@ashlenamusic And don't forget about the Canadian Power Trio, Rush! They are the 3 pc Kings. TW are only Queens! Do some Rush reactions...try "Xanadu" live first...from 1981 live show (I think) first. JAWDROPPER!
One thing to remember is that the 2014 version is them singing in their second language, learned at school. Always remember that they think and speak natively in Spanish So Ale at 9 years old is less fluent in English than her older sisters. 10 years later, they are much more fluent in English, but there are still words they do not know.
Wow that’s shocking
I’ve always though they are pretty spot on with their context clues while using their phrasing while speaking in English.
still looking forward to disciple, evolve, and pau going total gangsta on narcisista at teatro!
Evolve and Narcisista at 12amEST
Glad you got to see them when they were so young, before your concert. When you get back, you can dive into the earlier performances. Their Catholic school(all girls) concert when they were 15, 13, and 10yrs old. TEDx Talks 2017 concert. And the documentaries, MayDay in the Making, Tidal Rising, After concert videos, the Vlogs, interviews, Instagram chats, Dany's Midnight Concerts where she just sings and plays her acoustic guitar. There is so much more to see, and you will love every minute of it.
Waiting to see her reactions to Dany's 2 or 3 Billie Eilish covers.
I’ll most likely react to covers once I finish with their songs before the show on Sunday!
@@booradley8895 I know! It's like waiting for Christmas morning. Ashlena is really a fun reactor.
I liked this reaction before I even started it, because I knew what was coming, and what your face would look like during lol. From children recording for grandparents (in the Warning cave), to a masterclass of re-conception for the Metallica Black Album (track #1), this is an amazing ride.
Awesome. Thank you for the reaction. TWA
Any time
Been waiting for this one!!
Thanks for the great reaction Ashlena, appreciate your enthusiasm!!! Looking forward to the rest of this week and next!!!😊🔥⚡️

The Warning = PERFECTION . THE NEW QUEENS OF ROCK.
Not sure if you have listened to Evolve at Teatro Metropolitan yet. That's a must. There is also an MTV version of Evolve from when they opened for Foo Fighters in front of 55K. I also recommend you listen to their song 23. There is only a lyric video. But those lyrics are some of Pau's finest ruclips.net/video/wWW46SudR7Y/видео.html. They also played Kool Aid Kids and Amour on their earlier legs of the tour. Both are great songs. Z is another song they play early in the set
So nice of Metallica to write such a great song for The warning....
😂😂😂😂
14, 12, and 9. Every reactor I've seen watch it has been stunned. Kirk Hammett: "The drummer kicks maximum ass!"
TW's reimagined version is the best ES cover on the Metallica Blacklist album imo and has the most RUclips views. 💥🔥🤘
And...you should watch the mv‼
I will!!
The Warning and Alessia Cara version is the first song on Metallica's Blacklist album. They got a positive response back from Metallica.
I love your expression! So im not saying I like it better...but its so fresh and the new car smell is awesome! Very cool ladies!!
Haha love that
In 2020 Metallica invited The Warning to collaborate with Alessia Cara (Canadian pop singer) to record a cover of a song from the Black album for their Blacklist album commemorating its 30th anniversary.
2021 actually
@@MrSudeepdas You’re right, my bad. The pandemic years are all still a fuzzy nightmare to me. 🙂
Yesssssssssssssssssssss, please more videos, you will never find any bad song from The Warning.
Tons more to come
This early cover is an example of how special this band is.
That’d be cool!
Alessia joined them at an LA show. Not sure if she made an appearance at a Canadian show but the LA show was the only one she performed with TW.
Both performances are absolutely amazing in different ways! Absolutely love it !🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥
Still waiting for your reaction to Evolve ✌🏻😎
Enter Sandman Mexican 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 style!! Viva Mexico! Gracias Sisters
I like your reactions, I think you're the real deal, you sound exited but you don't overreact, I really hope you have a wonderful time during the concert, I can't wait to see your reaction video about the concert, You rock Ash.... Greetings from Mexico!!!!
I appreciate that! I will definitely continue to be honest on this channel no matter what
Great double bubble. Thanks, Ash. 🤟
You bet!
Over the past decade I have followed quite a few young musicians on and off - RUclips having made it easier for them to upload & access a worldwide audience.
@@kfh1 Long may they run
She is a GEM
This whole show was awesome. As all of their shows that they did and are doing on their tour. I saw them last year with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and Lilith Czar. Everyone that has heard this version likes it over Metallica's.
The Warning only have 2 songs in spanish and they usually play them . Narcisista is one that Pau sings. ❤❤❤
I’m definitely checking that went out this week
Whaaa??? Seriously tho, 🤯! I can't even... They are so much better than good!!! I totally was NOT expecting that rendition of Enter Sandman!!! They are like a talent inferno or tornado...something strong and confident and fully involved! Wow...just wow!

Great Reaction Ashlena!!!
This 2014 video of Enter Sandman was my entrance to the Rabbit Hole when I first saw it way back in 2015, and I've been following them ever since... It's been quite the ride, and they continue to get bigger and better with each passing year!!!
And... It's all been recorded on video!!!
That's awesome!
I would love for you to react to the official video because it is UHmazing! And Pau's creepy lullaby is what got my daughter into them and we got to meet them in Houston. ❤
Filming the rest of the videos I’ve missed next week!

Aww glad you enjoyed it
Look at Ale at the end of the first song. Body language=PIECE OF CAKE 😋
Dani just looks so fierce in their original recording of this song when they are just kids. I can see that she is thinking to herself "I am going to kick this songs ass and that is just the way it is gonna be ". Thx Ashlena.
hahah so true
SO much fun getting to see you experience The Warning covering Enter Sandman. :) The first video is both adorable, and rocks. It is insane how good they were even back then. I love their reimagined version. The official music video for the Blacklist album version is hauntingly beautiful.
Would absolutly appreciate that this shirt fly straight to Spain 🇪🇸 from the other side of the planet.
The amount of cuteness of the first video is equal of the badassery of the second. Love the non controled movements in your eyes when you are experiencing the videos. It's something that we all have experienced before
Haha we’ll see!!! And thank you 😀🥹
Great set to see exactly how their musicianship has progressed. Pretty good for a garage band to...holy hell what am I watching. You mind is now mine...
Hahaha right? 🤯
I'm excited for you to watch them live, you may have a great and glorious time , then tell us about it
i will!
Nice reaction Ashlena! This is a portion of a Zoom interview with The Warning done by Bobby Olivier from Alternative Press released August 31, 2022:
Seven years after your cover of “Enter Sandman” went viral on RUclips, you appear on an actual Metallica album with Blacklist, performing the same song.
👊🤓
Ah man their rendition is so amazing. And I can’t wait to share too!

Ashlena, as much as I'm sure a bunch of us would love to see clips of you having fun at The Warning concert, please go enjoy them live. Specially if it's a smaller venue. You will not regret it. 😁😁
Yes, this... I'll never pull out my phone again!!!
Don’t worry I have a friend coming with me who can do some filming while I have the best time of my life🤘🏽
@@ashlenamusic Maybe do a clip of your friend as she is first Warned, and then just enjoy the show. There will be others who shoot it.
Pau beats those drums like they owe her money ;)
You HAVE TO do Evolve. I know you have something against music videos bust you need to watch that one because they self shot it with IPhones. 16 IPhones and 1 drone. Plus, E Olvera is the song they always close their set with so you will definitely be hearing that one when you go to the show. And, during the breakdown, Paulina always demands audience participation.
12am EST for Evolve, I will do the music video next week xx
Metallica drummer saw this video when it was going viral and said “that drummer kicks maximum Ass!”
Actually, Metallica's lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett was the one who commented on the 2014 video and said that about Pau. It wasn't their drummer, Lars Ulrich. Let's not pass on incorrect information to Ashlena.
Kirk Hammett is guitarist
OMG! It's so fun to watch older reactions!!!!! Your reaction in priceless!!!!
Thank you!! 😁 hahaha
I’m an old rocker that has been lucky enough to have lived through sooo much and NOW add The Warning to that life of blessings!!
hey girl, these sisters turned an iconic rock song into a rocking lullaby..
You never know.. Alessia Cara could pop up to do Enter Sandman with them when you go see them 🤷🏻♀️
Kinda hope she doesn't.... no offense lol 🤷🏽♀️
She did pop on stage in LA for this song. Obviously they had not rehearsed. It was ok, but not as good as this performance.

I don’t have much to add that wasn’t already covered but…
I like the live version of the blacklist re-imagined cover the best because it’s grittier and they do a great job in building the song throughout and when they drop the hammer at the end it is so rewarding.
Ugh just gives you all the chills
The beast under your bed LOVES The Warning.
Así como la dama también estoy conmosionado The Warning es un Cofré de sorpresas 😮
That is CRAZY i would of never thought that's what it was about
Metallica invited 53 artists/bands to cover songs from the Black album and specifically asked them to go crazy and make the songs their own.
That’s was outrageous, that they were that good at such an early age. And that’s why they are todays Rock Stars !
The “oh oh oh oh’s” you hear is not Paulina singing. It is actually a backing track and it’s Alessia Cara who collaborated with The Warning on this song for the Metallica Blacklist album.
OOOOOOHHHHH ok that makes sense
I can remember watching the version of Enter Sandman they were really young way back when it went viral. They have come such a long way since then.
I totally agree with you Ashlena, The “Warning” has taken “Sandman” to the next level as well as “Dust to Dust” !
Agreed!
Dust to dust is not a cover tho , that is a original.
BTW 24 Million is fast approaching 25 with about 33k more views required.
So crazy
This is an amazing combination of both versions, it really does show how their talent started so young and has just blossomed!
Glad you enjoyed both versions, you’re really in for a genuine lifetime experience very soon now 💯%
Edit: fun fact, before the recording of 2014 version Pau and Ale wound Dany up to get her in skank face mode!
hahaha love it
Son 3 chicas rockeras con corazón !!!,
Pero....
Alejandra ,,, sonríe de tal manera que parece que se divierte con el bajo !!!!.
Un crack !!!.
I love when people watch both videos, to see how far they have come and in such a relatively short time is amazing!
aha! Now you're REALLY going down the rabbit hole!
Deep Dive 🤿
I actually watched The Crazy Train cover first on The Ellen Show before I watched their Enter sandman cover. Followed by Choke. I was hooked. Fell deep in the rabbit hole.😄🤟🤟🤟
They just played The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ last night and from the videos I've seen they killed it.
Many legendary bands have played the Pony, from back when I'd frequent it in the seventies like Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny to Joan Jett to Halestorm and so many more.
Absolutely love when they do the three part harmony.
This was my first video I saw and I thought in a few years they're going to explode. Their remake is even better than the original Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Enjoy your reactions so much - great job! How incredible was their version!! I'm seeing them in a couple days in Boston - can't wait - 3rd time! I've never been so fully invested in a band . . ever!
Way better than the original
The first time I saw this I was captured by Paulina's total concentration on the drums for such a young girl.. That is what made me follow them some, I'm totally amazed as to how far they have come over the years, and I still enjoy their "Rock N Roll." Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Parenting done right. I heard that their father sold his beloved motorcycle to help make the in house studio. I actually got their old video come across my computer as a pop up I guess you'd say, and I was WTF? I was like what kind of fiasco am I going to watch, talk about judging a book by its cover.
It’s unfortunate a lot of people do that. Music shouldn’t be based off videos that’s why I love listening to audio
I grew up during the Metallica error and I've heard several versions of this song the warning is the best cover I've heard
So amazing, she has dedication that's for sure
Great reaction to two great versions. Ale's gesture at the end has been described as the perfect mix of cute & cool. Cute 'cos it's a little girl having fun with her big sisters, and cool 'cos there's a certain quiet confidence to it. A sort of, "Yeah, nailed it."
I do find how the prayer is handled in each version interesting.
