Metallica saw the original Enter Sandman video. Krik Hammett commented online, "Just saw three little girls do a cover of Enter Sandman. It REALLY made our day. The drummer kicks maximum ass!" The Warning's reimagined version is the first track off of The Blacklist Album because Metallica liked it SO much. I'm sorry but Enter Sandman is now a The Warning song, it's SO good! Three girls just played it better than four grown ass men!

Pau used to do "Pau Cam" videos from behind her and stream it live over Instagram. In one of those (I think it was a show in Corpus Christi) they are playing Evolve which is almost always the last of song their sets. A couple of bars from the end, she loses one of her sticks. In the video you can see her switching hands with the remaining stick to play the snare and using her bare hand to finish the song, toms cymbals and never losing the beat. Over the years, I doubt there isn't anything she hasn't had to react to live - broken sticks, broken drum heads, stands falling over, cymabls losing the retaining nut on top...

At age 6 Pau's first drum teacher encouraged her to sing along in order to improve her timing and maintain her focus. When they started heavy touring she also started singing while on a treadmill to improve her control, power and stamina. She needs all the lung capacity she can develop because many of the larger cities in Central and South America are in mountainous regions; the venue they played in the second video, for example, sits at an elevation of 7300 feet.

And it makes us proud the be in TWA and see them rising to the top. From doing covers in The Warning Cave to the stage at Wacken and other major music festivals. It was June 2015 when I first discovered The Warning by way of their “Enter Sandman” cover, the one you were looking at. I knew right from the start that these young ladies were something very special and I started to binge watch literally everything I could find from them, which was very little back then. I can honestly say I have not missed a single day since then in which I have watched or listened to something of their journey.
In my 64 plus years of life I have never been so into a band. I joined their Patreon page within the first hour of its creation and have been saying for many years now, that they would one day be recognized world wide. I fully expect them to eventually gain the status of the greatest power trio of all time, selling out the biggest venues, arenas and stadiums. They will, without doubt, end up being invited to headline the most prestigious music festivals in the world.
To date I have had the great honor of meeting them via meet and greets twice, as well as enjoying their performances live. Even this early in their careers they are by far the best live band I have ever seen, and believe me, I have seen many of the greats in my time. It is an experience I suggest all who love music of any form to do if at all possible.
I personally believe they will single-handedly bring rock music back to main stream status. I say this because I know of several people who have never liked rock music, or even considered listening to it, end up liking and following The Warning. They truly are as special as I originally thought 9 plus years ago when I was first introduced to them via their fathers RUclips videos.
If you continue down this rabbit hole I guarantee you will not be disappointed, as they have nearly 60 original songs in their collection, being found on 4 full albums, 1 EP and two stand alone singles plus a reimagined rendition of Metallicas Enter Sandman, created as a collaboration with Canadian pop star Alessia Cara exclusively for Metallicas BlackList album. Their fourth Album “Keep Me Fed” which was released in late June, has some of their hardest sounding music yet. Choose any one of their songs and you will quickly discover they seem incapable of putting out a bad song. “You have been warned!”
    LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!

Pau was described as beating her drums like they owe her money. In the TEDx performance Pau repeatedly snapped and splintered her drumsticks! The intro and the ending of the story of The Warning’s cover of Enter Sandman. You should watch the ‘middle’ of the story. The official music video where they collaborated with Canadian singer Alessia Cara for Metallica’s Blacklist album. Alessia and TW did their part separately due to the pandemic. You should see Pau do the prayer part. It might give you nightmares. They followed Metallica’s instruction to turn the song inside out, upside down and make it their own. The epilogue is that TW reworked the song further, accompanied by the string section of an orchestra. TW and Alessia did get a chance to perform together live when restrictions were over. They now only have Alessia’s prerecorded vocals, but Dany always mentions Alessia in the intro before the song. Alessia and TW have remained friends.

That guitar has a history and is part of a chain that began a few years ago... according to Lzzy Hale, in the beginnings of Halestorm this band was opening for another group and one day Lzzy's guitar string broke and it turns out that... since it was the beginnings of the band, they didn't have their guitar assistant or another guitar and then the guitarist of the main band appeared and gave her a guitar... and in the end, she looked for him to return the instrument and thank him and this musician whose name I don't remember told her "it's yours" and Lzzy asked him "how can I pay for it" and the guitarist told her "when you are famous and you meet a guitarist who inspires you, do the same for that person and that pays the debt" and it happened that when The Warning was the opening group for Halestorm, in a concert Danny's guitar didn't work and Lzzy Hale appeared with that Gibson and gave it to Daniela in front of the whole audience, she bowed to Danny, they hugged each other and when it was all over, Danny looked for to Lzzy to thank her and return the guitar... and Lzzy told her that she (Danny) inspired her as a guitarist and... for that reason she had a guitar made especially for her.. and when she (Danny) becomes world famous, and meets a young guitarist who inspires her, then Danny should honor the chain and give her a guitar... to which Danny replied "I will" and in that interview Lzzy Hale called Dany her inspiration and also nicknamed her "the little sister of Randy Rhoades"

So there are 3 versions of this song that they have done, you have just reacted to versions 1 and 3. Version 3 is a rework of version 2 allowing them to perform it live. Version 2 came about when Metallica approached Alessia Cara about doing a cover for the Blacklist Album, but being a Pop singer she had no idea how to sing it. Alessia and The Warning share the same international management company who suggested that she work with them because they knew The Warning could play Enter Sandman (from the version 1 video). After Metallica approval The Warning reworked the song such that Alessia Cara would be comfortable singing it, that is version 2 and it is on the Metallica Blacklist Album (as the first song, not because it is so good, but because it goes by alphabetical order of artists and Alessia Cara is first). There is a music video of it and it is worth watching, maybe even reacting to (but aside from Alessia Cara's vocals and some minor adjustments not significantly different from version 3 which you have just seen), here is a link to it ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html

By the time The Warning got the go ahead from Metallica to join the Blacklist album, there were only about 10 days left to rework the whole song, record it and master it. The producer, Matt Squire came down to Monterrey to help out and Alessia was stuck in Canada due to the pandemic. Matt brought Alessia's part in on his computer. *Enter Sandman* (reimagined)
DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment!
Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

Ale got her signature bass and it has her own signature color ( Ale's inferno) at age 15. She and Spector designed together. As far as I know she is the youngest bass player of any genre to get a signature bass and color. Their may be someone just as young or younger but I don't know of any.

There maybe needs to be a clarification here.
Ale’s bass here is a USA NS-5XL with a signature finish named Ale’s Inferno.
You can get her signature finish on several different models.
Her actual signature bass is still in the works if ever as far as I know.
Ale has said during 2 separate interviews that her signature bass would be a 4 string of a cheaper model not a $8000 NS-5XL like the one on several guitar sites with her finish. If I was an artist I’d want my signature instrument to somewhat affordable to the masses so it actually sells but what do I know?
I’ve repeatedly checked Spector’s website and Ale’s signature bass has not been listed on there although it’s been a few months since I last checked it…
Also, I believe Dany and Ale have or had switched to Raven picks.
I believe they are touring with slightly different gear on their latest tour in Europe for KMF than their DTB Gear Rundown video’s.
Pau’s white kit stays in North America I believe and she has had another snare attached to her kit for some performances.
Dany has different Fender guitars to play some songs off KMF.
Ale supposedly has either added or changed a pedal on her board for some KMF songs. I read all of this on TW’s Discord in the part where the actual musicians tend to congregate so if anything’s wrong blame the “experts” because that’s what they’re speculating.

There are 3 videos from Gear Masters outlining each of their gear. Alé's bass and board, Dany's guitars and board and Animals's, I mean Pau's, drum kit, cymbals and control setup. They each explain what everything does and why they use it.
One of my favorite songs of theirs is XXI Century Blood from their 2017 album of the same name. The video was an award winner and a commentary on being reliant on technology. Plus Dany has a Slash November Rain guitar solo, Alé's bass is tight and Pau looks like an octopus beating them drums.

That night I binged about 30 different videos on them and learned their whole story- HOOKED!!! I was also a classically trained pianist as a child, who then discovered rock-n-roll, and seeing our parallels I felt a bond with them. Seeing them living my dream has captured my soul. I have spent a nearly unhealthy amount of time consuming everything I can about them. I now have tickets for their show in Baltimore next month, and bought a bunch of merch and CD's

Great reaction, man - I enjoyed your amazement... You are right - it is fascinating how good they already were at 14, 12 and 9(!) - I recommend the Original video they did for the Blacklisted album with Alessia Cara. They had only 7 days to smash the Original Sandman, coordinate their efforts with a pop singer in Canada over Zoom and put the pieces back together again in a unique way! The back-up harmonies are really haunting. This deconstruction made the song better, really creepy and sweet at the same time. They made my day when they played the original riff at the end. You can't do it better. They re-arranged it a bit for their Live-Shows and improved it again. I love it!

The New version was part of the Metalica's Blacklist 30th Anniversary album Canadian singer Alessia Cara was invited, but she didnt think she could do it justice by herself, but since The Warning were labelmates the label asked if they wanted to help, the did this whole arangement in a week, presented it to Alessia and her people And recorded the official version, in Mexico & Canada... Part of the background vocal you hear in this version are recordings of Alessia. In the album version, she sings the first verse an backing & Dany sings the second verse and some backing. Alessia never even met them face to face until early 2022, I think, and they performed it onstage...

The 2014 video convinced people that they had a future as a real band. After the video went viral the comments were filled with praise from older fans and suggestions that they should keep at it. It wasn't long after this that some of their teachers recommended that they attend Berklee School of Music in Boston for professional training, so they started a GoFundMe and their rapidly growing fanbase allowed them to raise the needed money in time to attend the summer of 2015. That GoFundMe, and later a Patreon, allowed them to remain independent and not have to compromise their music or image. By the time they signed with Lava they had self-funded two solid albums and spent enough time at the control boards to earn pro credits for producing and mixing in addition to songwriting and arranging, all by the time they 18, 16 and 13 (in 2018).

re: 2014 *Enter Sandman* cover :
for a trio, much less a young trio, this is fantastic! slightly different but a full wall of sound filled with raw power and grit... the child's prayer with Pau (drums) and Ale (bass) is beautiful and takes me back to my own youth and bedtimes with one of my parents coaching me along... the power of Pau on the drums, Ale's driving bass line, and Dany rocking out on guitar with her James Hetfield scowl are... whoa! then you think who needs two guitars when you have one Dany? 😹
also, i'll note that the wall behind the camera is a full mirror so all the girls can see themselves playing... this was done so they could work on their stage presence... the wall on Ale's (bass) side also has a window into the equipment side of their studio known as "The Warning Cave" or "The Cave" for short...
they were 14 (Dany on guitar), 12 (Pau on drums), and 9 (Ale on bass) when this was recorded... yes! this is where they went viral, out of the blue! 10 years ago... i mean 🤯

Metallica told them to rearrange it, said they didn't care if it was played backwards or upside down, just don't change the lyrics. Done for the Blacklist album(30th anniversary of the Black album). Canadian singer Alessia Cara was invited for the album. Alessia and The Warning share someone in management, think an international booking agent. That person suggested a collab. Dany sings most of Alessia's parts live, but Alessia's oooh's and ahh's are on track. They had 10 days to get it done, 7 days of recording time. And during lockdown, TW recorded in Mexico, Alessia in Canada.
The little girls version was posted for their family, the file was too big for email. They went on vaca, and came back to it blowing up.
3/4 scale Mustang bass. If you remember the video for "Six Feet Deep", the entity smashed a bass guitar that looked just like this one.

Two summers ago they watched this video and reacted to their own performance (this one). It's quite hilarious. Dany did laugh at the way she was holding her hand while playing. She developed a bad case of tendonitis (or some type of problem early on due to wrist posture etc.) It cleared up after she relearned how to hold her hands, and yes, that was Pau doing the laugh at the end. Both versions, different vibe. I love them both. As you've learned by now, they were commissioned to shake it up by Metallica. They were given the instructions, by Metallica, to turn it inside out and upside down, but don't change the lyrics, and make it your own. They first stripped the song to it's bare elements, then rewrote it as a pop song (for Alessia Cara), then they rockified it (Warnified it!). They did all this, during Covid, via Zoom with Alessia in Toronto and The Warning and Producer Matt Squire in Monterrey, in EIGHT DAYS, to make the publishing deadline! Amazing!!!
