I'm a non-Russian speaker guy who found Diana very accidently (RUclips-short of Dérnier Danse and when i found her name in the comment-section, I searched her and I watched the first video: Can't help falling....) It literally paralysed and hypnotised me.
Since that time a barely listened anything else, i keep diving into her channels and every single time I found something extraordinary, a piece of miracle.
Her Russian songs aren't exception either, no matter whether there is a subtitle or not, because the combination of her voice, the versatile way she paint by it and her performance(acting ability) is the first language to communicate with the audience. It works for me; I understand her crystal clear, I feel exactly the way she wants me to feel while I'm listening to her.
Only couple of months ago I would never ever thought that one day I will be listening Russian folk-songs on loop presented by a 13 years old girl street-performance in her green dress.:)

She is the most amazing ContrAlto I've ever heard....ever. You can hear the Polyphonic (Overtone) in her voice; Which makes it sound like two voices at once. Yes, you must follow her journey, except this one here is at age 18. She has one at age 14- "Rechenka" Then age 15 - "Wicked Game" age 17- "Human" and there are many more!
This performance was also my first experience of hearing Diana sing, and the astonishingly unique voice she has. A vocal coach had posted a short with a headline about her tone, and curious, I watched it. Suffice to say I had never heard a polyphonic Dramatic Contralto before, and was just stunned. Soon I was checking out as many of her renditions as I could, and was a huge fan in no time at all.

This was the final performance of the night of the first show of a 9 week singing show with 9 singers performing each week and also judging each other. Diana was voted the winner on this first night and was voted the winner of the 9 week show. She was 18 years old at the time, 20 now.

Great reaction from you both. I have watched this video in hundreds of reactions and directly probably about one thousand times, it never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Diana is my number one favourite for the past 6 years. Next go to Rechenka and other songs she performed age 14, in her breakthrough appearance on the top rated show, which included Igor Krutoy on the judging panel, You Are Super, which she won. Diana returned to the show the following year and won again.with her incredible rendition of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, age 15. This is a must, if you loved Can't Help Falling in Love.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

The shock you got watching this Brilliant performance is not just a one time thing that happened when the stars aligned, it is a constant, it is the Diana effect, she was only 18 years old when she sang this.
This was Round one and everyone and everyone got the shock of their lives, but it was just the beginning, she went on for 8 more weeks on this show making people question their sanity.
You can say that Diana's voice is the rarest of the rare jewels that exist on this Earth, her natural voice is deep, her vocal type is Contralto, that is the deepest and rarest female vocal type, further more she is classified as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest and most powerful of the contraltos which is even rarer, she is also polyphonic she is able to resonate with herself producing more than one notes in different registers that gives the effect of hearing multiple voices connected in one voice when she sings, very few singers can utilize this ability like she does, this is the main reason on why people always get goosebumps when they hear her sing (thus the nickname Queen of goosebumps).
Her range in also crazy for her age, it is about 4 octaves and she can easily switch between any note there on the fly because her vocal agility is insane, her unique timbre is unheard of, once you hear her there is no way that you will be able to forget it.
So she is a Contralto that can fully cover the range from the male Tenor up to both Mezzo and Soprano female vocal types and we will see her evolve way more because she is just 20 years old, a Contralto's voice is considered young even at the age of 30.

But at the end of the day no matter how much anyone talks about her technical skills the number one most impressive thing about her is her magical ability to transport the listener to her own world of music, her artistry on the stage is unprecedented she goes in to a trance when she sings as she immerses herself and becomes the song itself, you will often find your self glued to her every gesture even if you do not understand the language you are listening to and she has sang in a lot of them English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Russian it does not matter because you always get the full experience from just watching her art.
You should search for her life's story it is very inspirational and you will understand why she is humble and down to earth.
So have a good time discovering this generational talent and experiencing the greatest female voice on the planet, this is what a true genius in her field looks like, it really does not even matter what you choose to hear from her, you will not find a single song that will not leave you with your mouth open, her voice is a drug once you get hooked it is game over, other voices would not be able to scratch the itch of not hearing her sing.
There is quite a lot of content from Diana, it does not matter what you pick to listen because honestly being flawless is her middle name, she is point - click - win.

She's 19 here but she's been shocking and sending spine tingling shamanistic vibes out of that unique instrument since she was 13 and started with music as therapy as a child of 5.
You have some amazing performances to catch up on and not just in one language or genre... Shes a dramatic contralto voice ...but has expanded her skills and range to the point of almost reaching a whistle tone D6 ... but her power and timbre is what always hits most people. Shes prettymuch a unique natural phenomenon.
Now you have met Dimash AND Diana! Like Dimash you can not get your head around Diana with just one or two songs. Also like Dimash she can dominate any genre. She is a genuine Christian as are most Russians and has nothing but love and kindness for the world despite her beyond tragic early years where she was savagely brutalized by her birth mother. There seemed to be a divine plan at play, as she was adopted by and angel who allowed Diana to fulfill her potential and blossom. Again, like Dimash she has never drank or smoked and both devote themselves to their art and making their contribution to making the wold a better place. I have never experienced artists that open your very soul like Dimash and Diana. We are fortunate to live in a time where we can experience them. I do not see why her being a christian would matter, but a brutalised youth certainly leaves its marks. Her voice, though, must partially be determined physically/genetically.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" ruclips.net/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/видео.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

Diana had a tough childhood as she was abandoned by her mom at an orphanage, and she was in bad shape. One of the workers at the orphanage adopted her. It was to try to correct her stutter that she was introduced to singing. And look at her now! She and Dimash Kudaibergen have the most amazing voices I've heard.

Greetings from Scotland! Yes, I have probably heard this performance maybe 1,000 times and I still cry too! Just 18yo here, 20yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! You need a little back story to understand what helped "create" this unique phenomenon:-
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. At 13yo she held her 1st solo concert and one of the songs she sang was in a very rare Sephardic Jewish/Spanish dialect, a song called "Me Voy" (I'm leaving) with a power and emotional commitment that staggers belief! ruclips.net/video/-9_c5fPrqno/видео.html
She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Then at 14yo Diana took part in an amazing Russian project "You're Super!" for abandoned/disadvantaged children (because Diana spent time in an orphanage) The 1st song she performed shocked the judges and audience so much, it went viral. Great reaction, But you've just the tip of the iceberg as what this young lady can do with her voice. With about 300 songs in her rep. And the ability to sing in 6 different languages. She also sings all forms of music. From rock to Opera to Pop ti blues. No one has the power, control and vocal range, that this girl has. If you go down this rabbit hole, it will be a trip that you won't soon forget.

You have just listened to a true contralto with possibly multi-tonal qualities.. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for a while. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Wicked Games”, “Take On Me”, "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.
Basic details: Poliphonic dramatic contralto. Unique timbre and voice range of 4 octaves. In this show have 18 years. she's deepest voice sound as earth self tremble. Hiest voice sound so angelic.She dont like to repeat styles then is almost every she's song is different color of voice and style. Like to challenge self in almost all kind of music, then is every next song suprise. Due to the effect that her voice causes on the listener's body, she earned the nickname "Queen of goosebumps". Sorry for the length of this comment, but there is a lot information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021 on a new televised Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn!”. Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old and a contestant during this performance. This was a competition held over a nine week period one episode per week. Diana competed against 8 other professional singers who were also members of the judging panel, and for each individual performance they awarded judging points to each other. When not performing Diana was also a member of this judging panel which brought the contestant total to 9 individuals and each singer was required to performed a different song each of the nine weeks, and each person had to use different genres and different styles of music.
One of the 9 songs Diana performed was her cover of the Elvis Presley classic, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. This performance showed what many vocal professionals have previously speculated, that Diana Ankudinova has developed into a true contralto voice type, and for those that may not know, a contralto voice is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. Diana opens “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, in her low and deep contralto voice.
During an interview Diana said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and it was this lack that kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. After one of the most prestigious academies rejected her, she decided, along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving and extending her upper range.
To answer a very commonly asked question about Diana’s voice, because vocal range is one of many point in defining a female singer's voice type. At age 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, a solid Alto range, but still low for a 13 year old girl. In 2021, 5 years later at age 18, during her “ShowMaskGoOn” performance, Diana’s vocal range was again measured. Her functional vocal range now measures from a low of C3 (male tenor range) to a high of B♭5 (Mezzo Soprano range). The improvement to her upper range is also on full display during the middle part of this performance.
But it's not just how low or high she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper and lower registers, and her ability to transition seamlessly between both her lower, mid, and upper registers. It's in her timbre, the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice. Coupled this along with her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance further define Diana as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The depth and power of her full Dramatic Contralto chest voice is on full display during the final section of her performance.
So the question becomes, how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve the low, round, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sounds? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness from many vocal professionals seems to attribute Diana’s unique vocal ability to her winning the genetic lottery. Diana was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box), also appears to be larger, and her oral cavity (mouth) is larger, plus her pharynx (throat), similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. This combination of vocal anatomy gives Diana the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To conclude, midway during Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who stands is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to be a guest judge. Yusif is also married to the world famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, Diana receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. A fellow judge and competitor, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman standing in the center row dressed all in red is well-known in Russia as a contemporary singer. Julia Parshuta looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Finally, the 9 week competition concluded on November 20, 2021, with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points from the other competitors over the 9 weeks, and she was declared the winner of the series of nine programs.
