      Remember, these are HER opinion, it doesn't mean it does the issue for everyone. You can always try them and if it doesn't work for u, then u can return it ( if u get it at Sephora or Ulta products ). There have been products that one say they recommend you to not get an item and I got it and I ended up LOVING it! So, all these opinions from anyone even MUA's, I take it lightly cause I know it is their own opinion. People have different skin, textures, how they apply makeup or they don't wear foundation and just want a few things on their face and thee item they are not recommending MAY work cause they aren't wearing any complexion makeup etc.

She's also out here risking her PR just to say she does not like these products. She really does care about her viewers. I love the Merit foundation stick. I'm 47, have dry-ish skin, and I've been through them. Tom Ford stuck Foundation was the worst on me. True pancake makeup. I stuck with it and tried Westman Atelier till empty. I went back to Merit. It's just better. I do take care of my skin and use my Vit C serum, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen. Then I spot apply my coverage stick. For the under eye, I first pat on using my fingers to warm the product as I don't want to be pulling the skin. The rest, I just use the Merit brush or a dense brush (like the Charlotte Tilbury foundation brush). I wanted to live another brand as Merit is expensive, especially price per oz. That said, I've decided it's worth it to invest in fewer better products.

    Good morning! I completely agree with you on the NYX Butter Bronzers. I bought one, brought it home and immediately hated the color. It was so red toned and so pigmented. So, I took it back and bought two more colors that I thought would work better and hated them both. Instead of taking them back I started using them as eye shadows. I was more impressed using them as eyeshadow than bronzers. You seem to be the only person on RUclips with this opinion and I appreciate you for saying so. Nikki, you did a great job being balanced in your reviews of products that you do not recommend, some of which have been over-hyped or just associated with a very popular brand. It would be helpful if you could perhaps do a similar type review of specific product lines, e.g., "the best and worst" of certain product lines such as Westman Atelier, Victoria Beckham, Huda, ABH. This type of content is so valuable, especially because you offer good alternatives to poorly performing products. I very much appreciate your being straightforward without being overly-negative. You are always so respectful to your audience and so professional in your feedback. Thank you for all your work to help us make wise purchasing decisions.

    I love both of those Merit proucts! I find that the formula is perfect for my skin for both products. I typically make sure my skin is prepped, and I rub the foundation stick on my finger tips then lightly dab the formula onto the spots I want and blend it out using my fingers. I don't do my whole face. Same with the highlighter stick. I first rub it into my finger tips then I dab onto the spots I want and the look is no nice, lightweight, natural, and lasts a long time! Hope you can make it work for your skin type because it's awesome on combo skin!

    Always love hearing your honest opinions, Nikki. That being said, I'm one who really loves the Merit complexion stick. I have very, very dry (and mature - I'm 68 years old) skin and have found it to apply smoothly and thinly, not at all heavy or cakey. I also have texture/scarring/lines/wrinkles (sadly, not the gorgeous skin I would love). I typically prep my skin with either the Merit Great Skin serum or Rhode Glazing Milk and find that the complexion stick applies beautifully over those. Sometimes I use it for my entire face, other times I use it just where I need to cover/even out - depends on how my skin is looking on a given day. I like that it isn't overly "slippy" but also not overly dry or too hard to blend out evenly and think it gives a very pretty finish in general. I'm sorry it didn't work for you!

It’s a holy grail for me and I use it in multiple ways - before hydration after hydration, it’s what oily skin types like myself need who can’t have any heaviness or they are a greasy mess 1 hour into makeup. Also it brightens my face so yes, I love it and my point is it’s not gimmicky! It’s got actives that are gentle enough for sensitive skin which I also have. Love love love! try it especially if you don’t have filler and Botox and dermatologist treatments etc… real ppl will have different skin that’s not plumped or pulled tight or wrinkle free which all equals shadows, large pores, dullness. Thank you Nikki for always being so honest with products that don’t work for you and why BUT also giving alternatives for the products that didn’t work or just aren’t worth the price tag 🏷️ high end and drugstore! I see comments about “now you’re going to be kicked off the PR list” I’ve never found Nikki to care more about receiving free PR than being honest with her subscribers. The Brands shouldn’t take offense everything isn’t going to work or be a huge hit for someone it should be considered as constructive criticism and Nikki is so kind, she’s not hating on the brand just certain products ❤
    I have tried and tried to make the Merit complexion stick look good on my skin and it’s so dry and thick! I have dry skin and I think I’ll take your suggestion and try the Fenty eaze stick foundation! I definitely need to checkout Sweed! The blushes you showed are stunning!
    Everyone have a great Saturday ☺️

    I LOVE the merit stick! To me, I see it as a lightweight concealer, only use it where you need it. It gives me a perfected but natural finish. I don't use it when i want a fuller coverage finish, eg when I want to cover my dark circles more, I tend to add the haus labs concealer on top. I blend using a dense kabuki face brush

    I love the Merit stick, it actually got me hooked on cream foundation sticks. After using the Westman Atelier I agree nothing compares, but I still love the Merit. I also love the Basma stick. I use the Merit buffing brush and it looks smooth and hydrated. I am 51 years old with very dry skin. I don't have many wrinkles or texture so maybe that is it. I also super moisturize before all makeup. I am not sure why something works for one and not the other. Love your channel and totally trust your opinion.😀

    I truly appreciate these types of videos! Please do more of them. One product I do like that you do not is the Lawless cream blush. I love the shade gumdrop. But that’s ok. . . .we all can’t like the same things. One product I don’t care for that so many people gush over is the YSL lash clash mascara. The brush is WAY too big and clunky and the formula is gloppy and constantly needs to be wiped off. Again, that’s ok. . . Each to their own. But thanks again, Nikki for a great video.😍

  • @venteanari
    @venteanari Месяц назад

    Your comments on the Lawless blush just prove how real you are. You literally went into it wanting to and expecting to like it, and you did everything you possibly could to make it work (every shade, different foundations), but you still came to the conclusion that they just don't work for you. I think when we try makeup, our preconceived notions can severely alter how we end up judging their performance, but you didn't let yours do that, and you stuck firm in your opinion. You're seriously the best!

    Hey Nikki! I love your content.
    Re: the NYX Buttermelt blush, save your money. I had some of the same problems with it that you had with the bronzer. The pigment is just too much. I also thought the fragrance was too strong. On top of those issues, I had a problem with the color I chose changing on me. This gorgeous tangerine in the pan and on my hand turned almost yellow on my cheek. It looked like I was jaundiced. I passed it on to a friend with a deeper, warmer skin tone in the hope that she could make it work and it would not go to waste. I went back to Ulta hoping to find another shade that I could wear. I swatched every shade, and none of them was for me...too bright. I lived through the 80's once; that was enough. Thank you for saving me from trying the bronzer.

    I use the Merit stick occasionally when I am running to the store and don’t need all day wear (I have extremely oily skin and use One Size as my regular foundation). I draw the Merit on in a few swipe lines and use my fingers to blend. It is actually a nice and no makeup makeup look on my skin and through the day it does give a nice subtle glow without being iridescent like some other illuminating foundations - it just is not mattifying enough for all day wear for me. But minimal application and finger blending works for me.

    I tried the tester of Nyx Butta Brozer and thought about how I wouldn’t like this as a bronzer, but I would enjoy it as an eyeshadow. That’s exactly what I bought it for - lol. Thanks for your validation. Please do a video on blushes that last. I’m tired of buying blushes that disappear off my face quickly. I’m excited to try Sweed blushes, but I need to declutter my collection a bit first.
