    The only problem here is the screen/cockpit issue. The monitor has to be mounted to the motion rig, or you get a weird disconnect between what you're seeing, and feeling, since the monitor stays static, and the rig moves.

    Nice review. You have mentioned that you are using it in an apartment and I see you have put some paddings under the rig. Is that sufficient to dampen out all the vibrations to the floor? I am also living in a apartment and my main concern is the complaints from my neighbour below if I install such system. Since you seems to be the only reviewer that actually use it in an apartment, It will be awesome if you can share more detail about your settings or how you pad the rig to minimize the vibration to the floor.

  • @PinkiesBrain
    @PinkiesBrain 7 месяцев назад +3

    I wonder two things:
    first Ist this really as good as the "DOF Reality Motion Simulator Platform P3" which comes at a similar price tag with a different technical approach and which includes one more dimension of movement (swivel)
    And second :
    Where does it stand compared with the "Next Level Racing Motion Platform v3" which is also a different approach but roughly half the price , less place comsuming and also has excellent reviews since it is well developed and goes with the "less is more" idea.
    I guess all three solutions are better than without... but is there anyone who really tested all of them?

    Just found your channel and subscribed. So it appears bass shakers (or some equivalent) are built into these? How is the effect of those compared to a dedicated base shaker system? I'm looking at the Slip-Angle spring suspended set up if I don't use motion actuators

    • @DickDebonaire
      @DickDebonaire 7 месяцев назад

      @@Simcaderacing with bass shakers being a few hundred and motion being several thousand, it's as close as a lot of people can get. Still much better than nothing

    • @TheCarDoc1
      @TheCarDoc1  7 месяцев назад

      The effect is pretty awesome, but a true bassshaker will have more substantial oomph than what I’ve felt from these actuators, despite what this other person here is spouting I think that bass shakers are a worth alternative as they really do add quite a lot to the experience! My advice is go for it, motion is an extra frivolous spend on top but bass shakers probably add more overall in terms of cost to experience than motion does :)

    • @DickDebonaire
      @DickDebonaire 7 месяцев назад

      @@TheCarDoc1 I've never been able to try a sim rig with motion so I can't say with certainty its value to the experience. For instance, driving over a rumble strip a bass shaker should put the vibration of each ledge of that rumble strip into the rig. What I don't know is if the actuators can react quick enough to replicate 10 or 20 up and down motions of the tire in less then a second. It seems motion and bass shakers would be the ultimate, no?

    You might want to dig into the concept of trail breaking (dealing with weight distribution when braking and cornering). Then it would make more sense to realise that using motion should mostly probably make you benefit when trail breaking (getting more inputs about how the weight is distributed)

    Actual use of a sound meter from a set distance would also be beneficial.

    How noisy/quiet are the QS210 actuators?

    Great review, but your quote: "Less motion is best motion" is not true. A good motion sim with alot of movement is definitly for a feeling of geforce. But it only works when you are using a VR headset, so your whole vision is moving. When you are using a motion sim in a triple screen setup, you only feel the motion or the suspension of a car. When you use with VR and put the motion up, like in the dof reality h3 it definitly can give you a feeling of g force

      Holy smokes man, lay off the caffeine, cocaine, and Adderall.
      You the kind of guy that trains his dog to poop at EXACTLY 6:13 every morning within the same 1 sqft spot in the yard?
      No one is mistake-free, my friend, relax.

    Sorry but even when driving real life cars that are built for racing you never get that much travel in a cockpit its a waist of money and not realistic

      It's not replicating travel, it's replicating forces to give physical Qs rather than G force or actual wheel travel lol
