Everyone needs help. The amount or type of help an individual needs is relevant to that individual. That's why we learn to help ourselves and our families. Everyone needs to take self-responsibility. Can't afford kids? Don't have kids. Can't afford to survive? Get a job. Have some self-discipline and self-direction! It's really that simple. Social services were intended to help people who truly and physically cannot help themselves (let's not convolute that....). The breakdown of the family unit and the ever-increasing dependency upon the state has created more idiots, lazy asses, and freeloaders than society can afford.

    1. Drug test for benefits offer inpatient treatment or no benefits
    2. Actually arrest the ones committing crimes
    3. If they have arrest warrants send them to jail
    4. No catch and release for homeless if they are arrested
    5. Change the housing regulations of the city to allow more homes to be built
But most importantly just stop giving them shit!

We need to regulate housing more, no more ADUs. No large apartments in nice areas. Maybe educate the the people who can't afford a home the cost of homes in other states.

True behavior change is identity change. Characterizing your sense of humanity by identifying city settlers as "homeless or houseless" people -- is "home shaming" degradation to establish class superiority. This class identity image is now casually used like the "N-word" once was more widely used and accepted. "Home shaming" is just as ignorant as "fat shaming". Shouldn't the city's healthiest approach be to entertain, "Why are so many home-shaming homebodies becoming so materially obese in 2024?''

Call a person a BUM or Homeless or Vagrant is nothing like a racial slur. Being called a BUM, for instance, outlines how a person is acting. I give an example: "That person is a BUM, they will not work, keep abusing drugs/booze, and refuse to live by societies rules!" In this case, we are defining in compact terms, how a person is acting. Being a bum knows no race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. It is a way of living and a way of being.

Homelessness is a choice of life. Stop doing drugs. Life is beautiful but no one said life is easy. People have to many excuses in life more excuses than the exits of freeway 101 located in California

I'm so tired of the NIMBY attitudes and the partisan concerns. If you were to swap political parties on all candidates, the same problems would be there, the same solutions, and now people on the other side of the fence would be losing their minds. Let's just take all that out and look for A SOLUTION. I see people coming up with a solution, regardless the political leanings, and I see people complaining because of NIMBY stuff again. This is like when people buy a house near the airport then complain about the noise. Several centralized facilities are a way better solution then letting thousands roam. Just built it already.

Most of these people came from poor areas like barrio Logan, National City, San Ysidro, Skyline and most other parts of SE SD. We need to make the shelter in those area, put them back in their communities where they can see people who look like them succeeding. Why does Point Loma and Little Italy have to babysit them?
