Thanks for the explanation. Really like the on -off part. One point is that the laptop light is a bit hot. It makes the laptop the brightest part of the image near you. A tiny bit distracting. Maybe a negative fill could help?

Hey there, thanks for watching. I like doing those on-off bits too! :)
Yeah, I could try flag off the light in some way, it's a tight space though, so I'd probably have to use like a strip of black gaff tape on the side of the tube or something to help shape it away. I'd have to try it really.
It doesn't bother me too much as I suppose my reasoning is keeping it simple/fast just for my usual basic editing tutorials. It's a ton better then what it was and I suppose this video is more aimed towards beginners.
I do understand about the hotter area on the corner of the laptop, it's likely when I make a video editing tutorial I'll turn the laptop slightly which may help. It's a shame it's a such a bright back on the laptop. lol.
I know for sure I'm going to have people saying their eye is drawn to the light in the back as well as it's the brightest part, personally I like the backlight, I feel it relaxes the room. The two hottest parts are either side too, so for me, it feels like it frames the center more.
I'm also thinking there was a spot light on the ceiling overhead me, which I might have been able to use that as a hair light as well for extra separation, but then there's two in the ceiling, so that would affect the background, and taking one out isn't worth it for what it is, but maybe it's something to play around with for the next time. Again it's more of a fast setup to make things easy to get editing tutorials out and how I went about it. It'll help someone hopefully :)

This is actually one of the best looking videos I’ve seen on RUclips reminds of like a cinematic 300 film with Greek gods 🔥
    Do you do private consulting?
Im a photographer and I do a lot of video as well. I’m really struggling with having images with awful overdone colors and sometimes just straight up lacking color. I’m trying my best but I’m so upset it feels like I’m just missing something other people know.
My style is similar to David urbanke but I feel like I’m a 100 miles away from his soft cinematic tones. I don’t want to be just like him I just think his lighting is the best in photo game
Thanks so much btw this video was very helpful. You are a gem!

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the lovely comment!
Keep going, it just takes time, and experience, and it will click!
As for the consulting, I'm open to it for sure! If you want to drop me an email via my website, and we could discuss it more then! :)
