bro can't finish ffs🤦♀
Thanks for posting! Some great tips, liked and subscribed.
Hey @ozzmanzz, thanks for the nice comment and for subscribing! There is some other long form davinci resolve videos on my channel with some tips to speed up workflow if they’re of any help also! Enjoy 😊
Where's the Shuttle, Jog and Scroll Wheel? Well, you get what you pay for. But a nice tutorial for those that haven't learned how to map keys.
haha ahh there will always be a trade off of some sort! bit of a compromise, but does the job :)
what is your laptop stand bro? nice video btw
Hey man got it off Amazon, it's Solayce Laptop Stand, but I've since started using a PC cooler stand instead as it has the same height adjustment and keeps the laptop cool when editing. The cooling stand I got is a KLIM PC cooling stand. and I'd recommend it over the other stand.
Great stuff! Handy out 😁
It sure is! 😁
NO WAY! THATS ME IN THE BEGGINING HAHAHA. Always coming back for the good content, thanks for your hard work.
Haha thanks very much! Appreciate the nice comment! 😁
P.S it takes a bit of getting used to but within 15 mins or so, you should be in the swing of it. My advice is to keep your mouse away so you have to use the keyboard only, then it works very fast. Also if you can't get the tilde key to toggle between the two after keybinding it, ensure your keyboard layout is set to the correct country.
Subscribe so SHHHHLINKY can be kept in the best of wet food! 🐈
I need to slow this down considerably. I am too new at this.
Yeah I know the feeling. Any new software can be a bit of a learning curve. But you’ll get there with it! Keep at it 💪🏻
❤
Thanks for watching! 😊
What did you use to hook up the Nano II to the side of your FX6 - Im stuck there? Can you help?
Just some small rig 15mm rails. You need a baseplate of some type also to get the rails on. I’m using a small rig base plate too, it’s sort of bulky one, I don’t recommend it from the size point of view, I’m sure they’re better options out there. but the rods are fine.
Great tips Tom, I often work where background sound levels are noisy and have experimented with your first tip of normalize audio levels. It seems to be more effective than voice isolation or dialog leveller in many instances. I am really pleased I have discovered your channel, thanks for that
Brilliant, I'm glad to hear that. I will have a few more tutorials soon. Just have a backlog of films to finish first then I'll focus on the filmmaking tutorials again for awhile. Anything I can help with, let me know and I might be able to work it into a future video!

It was amazing!! ❤️ was delighted I caught it, don’t know how I held on to the phone lol
What a screamer!
What a bargain 😁
@@tomquinlanfilmmaker he is absolutely incredible
How can you do wireless run/stop for FX6 from Nano ii? I bought the cable for 2.5mm lanc to usb-c but couldn’t find a way to make it work
Hey man, I think it only works through the advanced side handle. I'm not entirely sure but hopefully that might help.
This is actually one of the best looking videos I’ve seen on RUclips reminds of like a cinematic 300 film with Greek gods 🔥 Do you do private consulting? Im a photographer and I do a lot of video as well. I’m really struggling with having images with awful overdone colors and sometimes just straight up lacking color. I’m trying my best but I’m so upset it feels like I’m just missing something other people know. My style is similar to David urbanke but I feel like I’m a 100 miles away from his soft cinematic tones. I don’t want to be just like him I just think his lighting is the best in photo game Thanks so much btw this video was very helpful. You are a gem!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the lovely comment! Keep going, it just takes time, and experience, and it will click! As for the consulting, I'm open to it for sure! If you want to drop me an email via my website, and we could discuss it more then! :)
Love your energy and love your color
Irish energy with sony colors lol not a bad combo! ;)
Insecure people be loving that all lights off look. That shit looks amazing on me🔥🔥🔥😤
lol
It was very informative, Thank you!!!😊
Not a bother at all, glad it helped! 😁
Thanks for the explanation. Really like the on -off part. One point is that the laptop light is a bit hot. It makes the laptop the brightest part of the image near you. A tiny bit distracting. Maybe a negative fill could help?
Hey there, thanks for watching. I like doing those on-off bits too! :) Yeah, I could try flag off the light in some way, it's a tight space though, so I'd probably have to use like a strip of black gaff tape on the side of the tube or something to help shape it away. I'd have to try it really. It doesn't bother me too much as I suppose my reasoning is keeping it simple/fast just for my usual basic editing tutorials. It's a ton better then what it was and I suppose this video is more aimed towards beginners. I do understand about the hotter area on the corner of the laptop, it's likely when I make a video editing tutorial I'll turn the laptop slightly which may help. It's a shame it's a such a bright back on the laptop. lol. I know for sure I'm going to have people saying their eye is drawn to the light in the back as well as it's the brightest part, personally I like the backlight, I feel it relaxes the room. The two hottest parts are either side too, so for me, it feels like it frames the center more. I'm also thinking there was a spot light on the ceiling overhead me, which I might have been able to use that as a hair light as well for extra separation, but then there's two in the ceiling, so that would affect the background, and taking one out isn't worth it for what it is, but maybe it's something to play around with for the next time. Again it's more of a fast setup to make things easy to get editing tutorials out and how I went about it. It'll help someone hopefully :)
i mean... you can change the keyboard shortcuts in like 2 min. why do u need a backup?
Hey Dejan! In the full video, I go deeper into how I have everything more or less remapped, to help with speed when editing. If I had to spend an hour re-mapping keys every time I had to do re-install or if I switched computer, that would be an hour here and an hour there, it all adds up. And it can be tedious trying to remember every shortcut you’ve remapped especially when you want to focus on being creative in the edit! The full video is on my channel, where there’ll be more context! 🙂
@@tomquinlanfilmmaker oh ok, you doing this for video editing. Sorry thought you meant shortcuts you need for your daily private use.
By the way, tip for the thumbnail! Try to decrease the amount of clutter and details, there's too much things asking for attention: Mouse, arrows, the clip, editing software. You could simplify it to just having the mouse be highlighted which can create some kind of question in the viewers mind like "how is a mouse supposed to do that". Personally, I think the text can be left to the title of the video
Hey man thanks for that, I agree with you, and I’ve updated it now. We’ll see if it has better success! 😁 thumbnails are harder than the whole filming + editing combined lol. 🤣
Another great video, I could definitely remap my keys for faster editing. Hope to see more content on Davinci Resolve!
Hi Tom. Can I be your apprentice and learn your way?
You start Monday! 😉
Criminally undersubscribed! Well done, Sir.
Wow I really appreciate that Dave! Thanks for the sub and the lovely comment! Next one is on the way 👍🏻
i 've learned "delete gaps" from your video bro. Thanks for share
That’s great to hear man I’m glad 🙂
Good to know!!
Yeah, very handy. A few versions ago, there was a bug with it and I couldn’t use it, and the alternative of dragging the clips around isn’t ideal so it really does come in handy! Full version of all the tips on channel if you have any interest! 🙂
Great one
Thanks 😊
Thanks brother!
You’re welcome 🙂
very informative video dude thank you so much
Hey there not a problem, glad it was helpful! 🙂 have another one filmed and will be ready soon! 👍🏻
This was amazing! New subscriber :)
Hey man welcome, and thank you so much for the sub! 😃
Go watch the full video folks. Great tips here! Thanks for sharing. 👊🏽🍺
Hey man that’s awesome, thanks for that! Glad you enjoyed the tips! More to come 😁
Could you please add chapters or timestamps in the comments? Love the video but would be better with them!
Right
Hey man, subs added now, hopefully they help! 😀

@@tomquinlanfilmmaker thanks boss!
Great video Tom. Just starting my RUclips journey. Learning everything from scratch including Davinci. Hope to see more of these here
Welcome aboard! Delighted these tips are helping people! The next video will be very helpful for you I think 🙂
...okay... you blew my mind with the batch fade. Great video. Thanks!
Haha brilliant I’m glad of that. You don’t realise much time it takes clicking and dragging until ya hit one button to do it all, keeps ya in a flow state too, rather than making it a tedious task 😁
Dude! perfect value, no time wasted, straight to the point. Brilliant, keep it up!
Haha thank you Juan! 🙂 I think the next video will be very useful as well, it’s in the works 😁
Looking forward to more of this.
Hey thank you. I have a couple of videos nearly finished, so stay tuned 😁
First Tip, I knew about but I never used the other options. Definitely will utilize Netflix and True Peak more often
Yeah man, there’s a few options. Works really well if the audio is more or less good from the original recording. Just gets ya in that good bracket. And easier to refine then when going over it! 🙂
Nice video, from a fellow Irishman
Haha go on the Irish! ☘️ What county are you joining me from? 🙂
