One day, maybe one day, I'll get the gear that you use (cause I love that tone), and maybe one day I'll be as good as you as a player. You are a huge inspiration
Nice Shred! You are the 4th person that has mentioned the Soldano plugin is awesome in the past week for me. Neural DSP is giving away a free plugin for all Quad Cortex owners on the 31st and that's the one I'm choosing!
That's a good idea. I avoid recording at night cause of how loud my amp is and I don't want to use plugins to replace my amp. I might have to try this.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but if I'm understanding you correctly, I can use this with an amplifier head and completely bypass the need to have a cabinet at all, right? I can just use this with the head plugged directly into an interface and never need a speaker cabinet?
Exactly! You still have the option of using a cab as well but the demo at the beginning was recorded with the head directly into the Captor X directly into my interface 👍
@@jamierobinson777 thanks for the reply! I'm definitely looking into getting one of these so I can use my amps silently now that I have a small child. One more question if you don't mind: I have an orange ad30 with two 8ohm outputs and one 16 ohm output, do you know if I would need the 8 or 16 ohm load box?
You are incredible I have been playing guitar for 3 years and only this year I have improved my skills I am trying to get faster, some nice techniques new licks etc. but you make me feel so bad its like I will never be good at guitar like you. I now If I practice everyday I will be some day but yeah I just feel like that sometimes. okay fuck it I have time actually I will practice more
Can anyone clearly define the difference between a good amp sim and a real amp? (besides latency, and assuming player is listening to recorded tones via monitoring headphones)
Tone wise it can be pretty hard to tell. But the feel is totally different for the player. I’ve noticed such a difference that the amp sims just don’t cut it after playing my tube amp. The dynamics you get from the amp is much better for expression and feel. It’s more expressive. It’s all personal preference of course but to me there’s a clear difference that I really enjoy getting from a tube amp.

Thanks so much! 🙏

Thanks for all that info, Jamie. I've often thought about the Torpedo, jus never made a definitive decision.

Exactly, I’d much rather use my amp than settle for a plug-in 👍😊
It would also be very interesting to see your approach to applying post effects (delay, reverb) and getting the solo to “sit” in the mix.

If you are not sponsored by Two Notes of course, right now, Captor is far from the best.
