A real treat. I first READ it so long ago that it was all new to me. I have considered Thomas Merton my spiritual brother since my first read. Thanks.

Likewise. So grateful for men like Thomas. I wish I still had the book so I'm grateful for this. God bless!

“And now, as if in response to some unseen voice, the bleebles first expanded and then sang as one, like the gossamer dewdrop at the top of a monkey.” Beautiful. ❤️

The revival of Stoic literature, Machiavellian principles, human psychology, while all great disciplines to study, Thomas Merton took the study of self and God to a higher peak.

What a beautiful story. I’m reading Seeds of Contemplation right now so it’s nice to know about the person who wrote it.

Thanks for this. I whetted my apetite by listening and I've now discovered thay the printed book has longer sections missing in this audio. Merton was a good writer and I'm enjoying the book.

Yes, the audio version is abridged. I should have specified in the description. Glad it inspired you to read the print version. I agree, it is much better!

@@yretsymsdees1092I doubt Merton would have responded like that… clearly he meant where is the good part.

I'm sure that if Thomas Merton were alive today, he would appreciate your thoughtful critique :)
