- Getting close to finishing the covers for the 3rd album. Here is the classic blues , Since I've Been Loving You. This is truly one of my all time favorite songs..., and "I really tried to do the best I could".😉
I wish I had waited until after I made this video to have my Speed King refurbished, so the squeak would be audible! 😁
Put a frame on it and call it perfect! Outstanding job, my friend!
Thanks Derek! 👊🏼👋🏼😊
So many little nuances in this drum track and George makes it look easy.
Thank you Lynda. You are so right about that, lots of dynamics and elasticity.
That whole album is so awesome! I love your ride cymbal sound.
Cheers,
thanks! That's an old Giant Beat 24 inch
Perfect performance sir. Its easy to fool yourself that you’re watching Bonzo perform this in the studio, you are so spot on. Your attention to nuance and dynamics is amazing Thanks for making this!
Thank you kindly!
It’s refreshing to hear that clean raw sound of the drums- nicely done performance!
ACES!!!
all those music lessons have really paid off!
Ludwig " natural wood " is incredible....i love this Drums......greetings from Italy....(sorry my poor English)
Mille grazie!
Great!!!!!! 🇧🇷
The way it is supposed to be done like always George. The space in this and the dynamics are so hard for me. I'm still working on this one alot
Absolutely incredible!!!! Great cover man! Had me rewinding and rewatching so many times
Dude you make that look so easy and relaxed. Natural dude natural 👍 One of the, if not the best drum cover of this timeless classic. What a band they were !
I didn’t have my glasses on when I hit play and seriously thought it said ‘10 👎🏼’.......I just couldn’t believe and I was going to try and find them to kick all their asses! Then I put my specs on....🙄 Beautiful as as always George. Thank you for all your effort and time with these.
😊Thank you!
You still need to find the guy who disliked it!
Awesome
It's my understanding that Robert Plant had John Bonham suppress his natural tendency to lay down fantastic fills. Great job!
Outstanding! I have been stuck on a few sections of this, the ending for sure and this helps a ton! Thank you sir!
Do you think Tea For One is a worthy successor to Since I've been loving you? You're Killing it.
Tea for One is definitely the offspring of this song. Maybe not as explosive as SIBLY, but it's still heart wrenching, Jimmy's pours his soul into the guitar just as he did here, and Bonham was still doing those embellishments and soft then loud dynamics. I'll definitely put Tea For One in my top 10 Zeppelin songs.
Absolutely... cut from the same cloth, as they say.
So cool. I can only learn and learn by looking at your drumming ..
Not perfect. I don't hear the squeak from the bass pedal? Lol just kidding, sounded great.
Lol, thought the same! :)
Haha. Well , the squeak was there before I had the pedal redone!
@@BONHAMOLOGY I have 2 of em and they both squeak. Don't hear it with headphones on so I'm okay with it.
Was just going to post the same
Is he using 2 crashes I really need to know
Spot on!
Absolutely beautiful!!
He is the GOAT
Great Job! I can’t listen to this song without counting to 6 the entire time. Where he adds his fills is so tasty. Also I can’t un-hear the squeaky bass drum pedal.
How did I miss this one!?!?! So beautifully done George, excellent! Every once in awhile I come across one of your videos I've somehow missed, (thank God for autoplay), and it's like finding a hidden present on Christmas morning! SIBLY is truly one of my favorites as well, #1 or #2 all time Zep song for me, (depending if I'm in the mood for the 'light' or the 'shade' as Jimmy says). That fill at the 6:36 mark of just the simple single bass drum note against the single snare note is one of favorite Bonham fills, with the way it's swung. I have another gem to practice to. Thank you sir, cheers!
❤great video
GREAT!!! 🇺🇾
🎶👍
Well another of my favorites -- I think this may seem simple a first hear but very complex and need much feel to make it sound great... --- You nailed it! -- Nice bass sound - Bonzo would agree!
Gorgeous , George ! V. Jealous of your newly refurbished Speed King , too ! I have two , but I can’t use them due to wear .
Perhaps Terry could make Ludwig an offer they can’t refuse , and get them to introduce a new version with modern ( studio-quiet !)
engineering and the traditional SK action .
And while he’s at it , maybe they’d make me a 5”x13” Acrolite as well !
Again , thanks, that was a treat 👏👍😃
A new mission for Bonzoleum!! 😁
At least one of your dreams came true this year! Hope you’re staying safe.
god damnnnnn
Bien tocado
Great skin banging
Great zep song!
Sehr sehr gut, danke, das hilft mir sehr weiter.
parabéns pelo seu trabalho muito bom gostei ....direto do Brasil....
Love it!!!!
George, amazing performance!! Are you doing subtle rim shots in this one? Hard to tell if you and Bonham are using them sparsely.
Yes, exactly.
Great all around sound. Very natural sound you have, nothing seems forced but just flowed. Can you do fool in the rain next?
great stuff
Awesome cover bro! This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Most of this I can work with and make sense of, but the fill at around 3:35 really makes me scratch my head
Great cover!!👍👍+1
Nice playing George! You should do the version of this song that is on the live Song Remains the Same release. There's a fill Bonham does right around the 3:02 mark right after Plant sings "But I tried, OH! I really tried to do the best I could ", then Bonzo goes into the fill - snare, bass drum then a bunch of hihat chokes. It's a great fill and it's driving me a little crazy to play it perfectly. It's tricky...Please listen and comment. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about..
I love how your cymbals sound, any chance you could drop what they are?
George, what were the earliest song's Bonzo had switched to the green sparkle set from the maple thermogloss set? I assume it was sometime on the third album, but maybe the fourth album. You playing the thermogloss here I assume Bonzo was still using the maple thermogloss set for Since I've Been Loving You studio tracking.
I think he may have used them on some of the third album, but it's hard to know for sure.
Did Bonzo really vary his snare tuning, like this song being lower?
I noticed that during this song you (and Bonzo) seemed to tune down your snare drum. Did Bonzo often change how high/low his drums were tuned depending on the song?
No squeaky kick pedal?
hello george, i'm a french drummer ,and i love all your video and those of your friend terry i'm also a bonzo fan and i will be flattering to hear your opinion on my drum covers thank you in advance bob 70' drum
Is he using 2 crashes??
Yes
Bmp please?
I was listening for a squeak🤷🏼♂️
Didn't you read the description?? 🙄
Sarcasm...mocking other comments.
@@kalebstimmel79 Aha, my bad... it can be tricky getting the tone of sarcasm in texted comments
Spot on!
