Motorcycle ride outs with The Wiltshire Whizzers !

- With 160 members in our Facebook Group, a small fraction are actual riders who attend our runs. Notwithstanding that we know some Group members are far away...abroad even, with a genuine interest in small engined bikes and the Wiltshire countryside, we can't help thinking that there must be more potential active members out there who maybe have no bike yet or for some other reason are reluctant to come along to our meets?
So come on guys - we need some new blood...the fact that we are at the older end of the scale means nothing - we are a group of guys who love a laugh, enjoy riding and / or tinkering with bikes as well as appreciating the stunning countryside lanes we have to ride through.

Brilliant, I wish you every success. I am 64, and not in a position to retire yet (18 months to go). After that, I certainly hope to join you, I think you are a great little group (scuse the pun) Also i like the theme of your days, poodling about, coffee stop and a meal, sounds idylic. I might try to cfross your palm with some silver for the YB, you never know !!
Then we look ahead for 18 months with expectation but Graeme we ride on weekends too - you could have the occasional ride out before you pack up work? As for the YB - if I decide it has to go I will make an announcement. Very sad really.
I wish I lived closer, sadly I'm in south Somerset with a Harley, I hope you don't mind if I continue to follow your trips out though. Ride safe

Well Rob you could count me in if I lived in or around your area, the new Honda CB 500 comes on Wednesday, so this will probably be the last new bike for this auld yin.
I hope that the Whizzers membership increases 10 fold, so All the very Best to each and every one of you.

I’m in Bristol. Recently discovered your channel and enjoy the small bikes. My 180cc 2 stroke scooter is in for refurb but hope to get it back soon, so may be interested in joining for ride out in the summer. I’m doing the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride (DGR) on 19 May. I will keep watching… happy riding!
Good for you doing the DGR actually we don’t have anything arranged on that at the moment. We do runs from Iron Acton, Pilning etc too. You’d be very welcome to join us - is it a Vespa that you have?
@@RobLittleuk Thanks Rob. It's actually a Gilera Runner which I've owned from new in 2001. Realised it's become very rare so decided to get it resprayed etc. will be in touch. Love your 100cc old school 2 stroke by the way!

As you maybe aware Rob, I have always fancied riding you Whizzers but distance is a problem but never say never. Do you ride on any particular day and is the meet up to start from, always from the same place? I do ride with our local oldies group once a month and have 20 a mile ride to the meeting point. I can ride up to 80 - 110 on these rides. 😊👍🏍
John - can't remember where you are but quite a few of us ride a distance before starting "the ride" - some put bikes in a van! Are you on our facebook page because all the runs are advertised on there - Wiltshire Whizzers. Where does your local oldies group run from? Our starts are in different places - Pilning, Iron Acton, Codrington, Acton Turville, Tetbury, Malmesbury, Chippenham, Melksham, Swindon, to go from west to east !! Thanks for your reply Rob. I am in Narborough Sth Leics about 8 miles from High Cross the centre of Roman Britain. I don't have Facebook but my wife does, so I can access your page in that way. I am a member of the VMCC and when I ride with them, we meet up at various venues. With the oldies we meet up and start from the same place. For these rides I generally use my 1982 Honda CB250rs. If I did venture into your territory, I might use my new Honda CB500x or my BMWG310r as I can get some miles under my belt on either of these bikes. The wife and I are planning a run to Bourton on the Water later in the year.
I know you are perhaps looking for the younger riders but I feel young at 76 when riding my bikes.🤣

@@johnimmins7302 John we are looking for ANY riders but young blood to join our group as regular riders would be nice. Let me know when you are coming to the Cotswolds - as a recently retired tour guide i need to tell you that the Bourton is more infamous than famous - there are many nicer, less crowded places to visit here - let me know if you need help on that ! By the way I remember you telling me you were from Highcross - the trouble is with the number of people here who have never met, often with nicknames, its a job to remember who tells me what!
Thank you for offer of where to visit in the Cotswolds, I will hope to visit the area more into the summer and have an over night stay if the wife is with me. I will looking forward to more of the Whizzers videos and will not rule out joining you on one, at some point. Can relate to your comments about people getting out of riding habit during lockdown and not getting back into it

I’m definately coming for a ride or 2 if that’s ok in the near future my smallest bike is a 250 Honda Superdream or my Royal Enfield Hunter 350 🤟I’m in Derbyshire so a smallish commute but I’m up for it

@@iansmith2334 In short, the answer is "no". While we encourage bikes below 125 we want to grow our group. You would be more than welcome to come on your 350 providing its not an italian racing bike ha ha. Many of us have bigger bikes and have a little bike too - you might do the same eventually if you ride with us. Its a social thing Ian - we meet, have a laugh, spot of lunch and home. Feel free to call me to discuss but please text first.
