- Bad drivers and other incidentals caught on my dash cam while at work in late May through June. All these are in various parts of the San Francisco Bay area. The music just the local oldies station. In the fast lane of music there are good songs and a few crappy ones.
I could never be a trucker, all the drivers with room temperature iq's would give me way too much rage
I don't know. I know of someone that drove a tanker truck. In the middle of winter, people would cut him off. 3 times out of 20 years he ended up in the ditch because of other idiotic drivers. He quit and said he doesn't want to take chances anymore. Made good money though

I could never be a truck driver. To many of these people I would have just rammed into.
I saw trucks doing same strange things tho, in this video alone already.
Two thing. You listen to some good music. Second, you must be a saint because I would have been cursing out most of those drivers. If I drove a semi, I'd probably install a train horn and wear that thing out. I have one on my car and it scares the crap out of people when they go to cut you off. Works like gangbusters.

how hard is it for people to understand that you CAN'T just get in front of a big truck and stop? they can't stop as fast as cars and they'll run your shit over

My dad is a trucker, so I know better. A log truck was behind me and the light changed red. I was going 55-60 MPH so I couldn't stop. Mini-heart attack, I ran the light, I knew the truck couldn't stop if I stopped
Oh man, I feel for the truckers. They tend to attract the stupid drivers for some reason. And the two waiting at the meter light must be dead at the wheel.
+Carlos C. its not that we (semi drivers) attract them... its just that we sit high enough to see everything and we drive up to 11 hours in one day... you are bound to see many things on the road. We have tons of footage we have showed our families.

Truck drivers need the patience of a saint! Great videos. I drive a little car but got my car cam running also. So many people trying to die.
It goes both ways my friend, I've gotten in near accidents cause of trailers, 78 east and west up hills, two trailers in slow and middle lane and it never fails the 3rd truck wanting to pass in the fast lane and cutting everyone else and creating traffic. I've gotten 80mph and trailers have pass me, at least we are not in Russia and don't get me wrong cause I like my Russian friends😀
In Russia people know how to drive because they expect other people to drive like idiots.

As this guys wife, I was worried everyday he left for work. However, we have since moved to Wyoming, so there will be no more of these vids. And even though now he hauls doubles, full of sulphur, I no longer worry about his safety as much!
Personally, if your guy was driving the semi and wearing a seatbelt, I think other driver would the one who probably gets the worse of the collision most of the time...
In the UK we don't stop for school buses, it's called natural selection.

You'd be amazed how many cars try to merge straight into the side of my truck. It's only 14 feet tall and 70 feet long so obviously they can't see it.

The person at 5:10 who stopped in front of the light has to be the dumbest person I've seen in awhile. After numerous honks from the person directly behind him and the big rig, he just sits there like nothings going on. Then, once the big rig passes him in the left lane, the person takes off... That's just genius.
Gotta love ramp meters. Even better than your comment is the people who stop more than a car length behind the white line and wonder why it won't change to green.

for the nontruckdriver, a semi is sixtyfive feet long, and you cannot always pull over for people on an on ramp because of several cars next to you in the adjoining lane. to bad these videos cannot show both mirrors. if you have never driven a semi, you have no idea of the time and space management needed to stay safe. plus the rigs can legally weight 80,000 pounds. do you really want to take the chance of experiencing fourth tons???
In many cases its also illegal too.

This video is evidence to how hard truck driving can really be. 1. You have long ass hours and most of the times few days to deliver stuff. 2. Your truck is hard to drive cause it's fucking huge. 3. People in cars trying their hardest to get around you so they can make it to work, it just pisses me off. If your in a hurry wait for a safe opening to pass the truck, not cut them off.

There really needs to be thorough driving etiquette and mechanical aptitude requirements for getting a license to prevent situations like these as well as broken lights/etc. Driving is a dangerous privilege, but people see it as a simple right. Ridiculous.
Yea agree. I also think it just needs to be harder to get one. More studying and more tests on rules and how to react in certain situations. There should also be some kind of refresher course.

This is exactly why my boss won't let our trucks go into "The Peoples Republic of California". They make crazy look absolutely normal. Good Riddance, California. I can't say it was fun.
Funny thing I see through your videos. In Europe BMW and Audi drivers are knightmares on the roads. Generally involved in 90% of the shinanigans you can have in your daily life. In USA, it looks like japanese car drivers are frequently those with problematic road behavior.
Thanks for reminding me of the good old days commuting on 280 or 101. I used to watch out for "Stupid Beemer Tricks". Once in a while there'd be a younger guy in a Camaro (or something) doing something dumb.
Typical Californian drivers....I remember the first time I drove in the LA area, I was driving back to my uncle's house, I tried to merge into the left lane when a Toyota Sequoia decides to FLORE IT and she lays on her horn without letting me in. As a Minnesota driver, we drive better!!

I live in San Jose. And in the video at 1:30 that has to be 17 southbound at the 85 split. I live off 85 and people are always doing that shit. Pulling of 17 and cutting of people on the 85 off ramp.

Grew up in California and those are some of the shittiest drivers. Oklahoma is worse just instead of driving fast, they drive slow and without intention.

I know this is an old video,but I recognized it as the bay without even reading the description. Sadly, it isn't even the worst I have seen. I've had so many near- collisions that I am certain that should I die young it will be because of idiots on the road.

This is exactly why I cannot stand driving in California. Drivers cutting you off or racing ahead to get into your lane, only to put on the brakes and turn at the next right, because getting BEHIND my car when you're going slower than me is not justifiable, it's better to speed up to get ahead of me, then slam on your brakes to turn right. Worst drivers I've ever encountered. Seems every California driver I've come across has this mentality of being out for themselves. No respect for others, no respect for safe driving, as long as they get there first.
+Heather King they are starting to put the work here in Baltimore as well...I lived in San Francisco for many years and am still convinced they are the worse drivers...mean spirited shit, but Baltimore is catching up fast. the biggest difference I see is that in Northern Kali they are intenional dick heads and while that is true here as well, its also that people tend to be stupid and aggressive, a bad combination when involving an auto!

I wish people would give truckers a break, they have 18 gears to go through and many blind spots, I drive in LA and see stupid driving mistakes all the time, senseless and poor judgement seen all the time, some of these people should not be on the road!
Agreed, cutting off a semi seems like a really bad idea to me, especially if you cut them off and hit the brakes right after.

Wow, this reminds me of driving around Port Macquarie, Australia. Not only are the drivers amongst the worst in the world (and mostly near-blind and deaf retirees too!), but our roads are probably amongst the worst in the world (thank you broke council...). We have people doing stupid things every day - whether it's cutting in front of you, road rage, tailgating, speeding, sheer stupidity etc. Most of the town's drivers are near deaf and blind, so shouldn't drive!

I hope you realize that driving an 18-wheeler is not exactly the same as driving a Prius, or even a Tahoe? Hint: When your vehicle weighs 40 tons (and not just one or two), it's much, MUCH harder and takes much longer to stop when somebody makes a misjudgment right in front of you. Like if a car turns right into your lane from only 10 feet away, for instance.
I would love to see you try and stop a 100,000+ pound vehicle as fast as he does when those people get in the lane in front of him. he was allowing space between him and the car in front of him, and people would get in front of him and go slow. big trucks do not drive or stop like normal vehicles. they have serious weight, it takes a while for them to slow down or stop.
It depends on the flow of traffic on the freeway. When it is switching from green to red only one car gets to go on every green light. If traffic is light then it will just stay green but then when it switches back to control mode it goes from green to yellow to red. It is to keep the freeways from becoming gridlocked. Hope that makes sense.
Michigan drivers are way worse... I routinely get passed by pickups hauling snowmobile trailers bigger than thier trucks doing 80mph on a snowfilled I 75, and they tailgate less than a car length between them doing high speed...one day they'll get what's coming to them.
Yep, really frustrating in stop and go traffic when you are trying to hang back a little because you're not sure if you can get that clutch pedal pushed down one more time. I think you should have to ride in a truck for a week before you get your license.

This video just shows every day bull shit we all have to deal with. I've been in every single situation I saw here. Yes, there are many bad drivers, and in heavy traffic, people have to battle to switch lanes. Also, I saw a semi rear end a SUV, and the SUV driver was killed instantly because the semi driver was busy reading a road map instead of paying attention, so semi truck drivers are not perfect either.
