A well engineered site saw priced very high, I love my festool kapex, my Sanders, routers and dominos but when I came to choose my table saw, the big rock solid Laguna fusion 3 was my choice, heavy flat cast beds, rock solid fence and instead of an awful universal motor you get a powerful induction 3hp motor, I am sure this site saw is good, maybe even better than good, but a thin aluminium table, a universal motor and a price tag that is insane one needs to think long and hard!
@@marldonltd That's a very appreciated answer, Thank you!! Now i can go ahead and buy one. Cause Im thinking What would happen if for some reason you are standing out in the free and it suddenly starts to rain on the wood in process?
From that depth and angle control, it appears that this is the Sawstop jobsite saw mechanism, removed from its case to fit to Festool rails. Both brands are known for quality tools, but this kind of rebranding/OEM stuff by corporate conglomerates feels like the first step toward the suit-driven relabeling shenanigans that so many other tool brands have suffered over the years. I don’t like that once Festool buys Black & Decker or someone, I’m going to have to research carefully whether my next Festool purchase is really a German engineered design created to be best in class fit for purpose, or just a lesser tool redone in green plastic to satisfy some bean counter’s quarterly numbers. Maybe I’m off base and Festool designed this and then OEM’ed it to their Sawstop division, but in any case it’s troubling to see Festool selling the same tool that’s available under another brand.
We had a SawStop at university. You can turn off the sensor for cutting reclaimed woods. Ours had a keyed lockout, but I believe that was a custom option.
5/1000ths of a second! how does self testing let you cut wood that is 50% wet? also - the sausage is clearly knocked, but he doesn't show that. rather a confusing presentation.
The Sawstop site pro is much more portable due to the sturdy trolley design and half the price. As festool are owned by the same company, why do we have top get ripped off with this clunky overprices version.

Why is this Festool model not available in the US?
Because sawstop and Festool are owned by the same company and they don’t want this to compete with sawstop.
Fantastic video thanks 👍🏻
LOL "No sausage was harmed in the making of this video"
Can you turn of the sawstop function?
Yes you certainly can at startup.👍

Fabulous saw
A good saw Tom but a site saw that is priced as high as some good cabinet saws!
Should have a much bigger red off button for safety. specially as people will disable the sensor so they are able to earn money on a damp day.
Nice hotdog cutter
No harm was made to the ‘front’ of this sausage!!!
So cutting some reclaimed timber with a Brad nail in it could cost you £150.

And cutting your finger off costs you how much?
that's not a cabinet saw wouldn't hold up to cabinet shop.
5 milliseconds is 5 thousands of a second not a 5 millionth!

this cameraman needs to go on a training course to learn how to focus and operate a camera.
