    Why is this Festool model not available in the US?

    • @gregpowell7097
      @gregpowell7097 Месяц назад

      Because sawstop and Festool are owned by the same company and they don’t want this to compete with sawstop.

  • @3weight

    From that depth and angle control, it appears that this is the Sawstop jobsite saw mechanism, removed from its case to fit to Festool rails. Both brands are known for quality tools, but this kind of rebranding/OEM stuff by corporate conglomerates feels like the first step toward the suit-driven relabeling shenanigans that so many other tool brands have suffered over the years. I don’t like that once Festool buys Black & Decker or someone, I’m going to have to research carefully whether my next Festool purchase is really a German engineered design created to be best in class fit for purpose, or just a lesser tool redone in green plastic to satisfy some bean counter’s quarterly numbers. Maybe I’m off base and Festool designed this and then OEM’ed it to their Sawstop division, but in any case it’s troubling to see Festool selling the same tool that’s available under another brand.

  • @tomasz2889
    @tomasz2889 Год назад

    I‘ve got this saw and wouldn’t recommend buying it. First of all, when you see ads like this nobody tells you very important thing. Look at the cut capacity when it’s tilt 45% to the left. It’s just 20mm. You really cannot do much with it. Moreover, if you complain about the grip, just try it with the tilt I mentioned. That’s just the worst experience I ever had with any saw. Then, think of the accessories like a mobile stand. I understand, tools can be more expensive etc. I got and accepted that but asking such money for a few pipes welded together is just a rip-off. I’d recommend you guys considering a 40v makita. People say, it’s not a problem with the batteries. I disagree. Think of it. You need 2 for the saw, two for a vacuum then other for drills etc. All in all, it’s piling up, not to mention the batteries have their lifespan and that’s probably we don’t see a power adapter for 240/110V. Everybody makes his own decision but thought it can help somebody who’s making that decision now.

    • @nevilleabbott2330

    Anyone know if its better to purchase the festool battery hub sustainer (€3.5k) and simply use that on all my corded tools? Also is it legal to operate 220 v tools using that battery hub on UK & Irish building sites? Or is it best to switch what I have to cordless tools such as the mitre saw above? Cheers

    • @tomasz2889
      @tomasz2889 Год назад

      I’d really consider going with battery hub. I use batteries and the more cordless tools I have the more batteries I need to have. Just count how many you need to power all the tools you need at the same time, plus additional to charge simultaneously.

    A well engineered site saw priced very high, I love my festool kapex, my Sanders, routers and dominos but when I came to choose my table saw, the big rock solid Laguna fusion 3 was my choice, heavy flat cast beds, rock solid fence and instead of an awful universal motor you get a powerful induction 3hp motor, I am sure this site saw is good, maybe even better than good, but a thin aluminium table, a universal motor and a price tag that is insane one needs to think long and hard!
