I'm sorry to hear this... the right timing with this video in this case! I keep my fingers crossed for you and I wish you lots of great clients in your 'solo journey! 🤗
I suggest not cold calling (#10). It's a soul crushing experience for the artist and you usually target people who take advantage of you. Instead I suggest finding and intermediate representative (not just a sales person, someone who knows arch vis) in a country you're targeting that can assist with your leads.
I agree that cold calling is very hard. The odds are so stacked against you. I tried it and honestly, if it were to find clients for insurance, double glazing etc etc I don't think It would be so bad, but to get constantly rejected was hard. I tried for just a few weeks and gave up...
You don't have to use all of these techniques, however - the more, the better 😉 If you are not a selling type of person, or your team is bigger and you can delegate (which is the goal), then you can do this. However, I would advise not to look at the business from an artistic perspective anyway 😉 Thanks for sharing your thoughts ;)
Thank you for this video. This is full of great information on how to get my work out there. I'm trying to start a freelancing service in 3D architecture visualization. I have already done one free project for a small-time architect. He has paid projects coming for me in the future, so I would say that the building relationships is important. I have a question though. I'm struggling to pitch my services to potential clients. I don't know how to communicate how they would benefit from my services. I don't come from the architecture field, so I have pretty much ZERO knowledge of the process. Is there somewhere that I can go that will teach me all of the information necessary to understand WHY an architect would want or need a 3D visualization?
I'm so happy to hear this as this was the goal of this video. Definitely, too many artists don't think about the business side of the industry. Thank you for your feedback! 😀
Dont know if these questions are worth making a video about.. but On either V-ray or Corona 1- how do you add decals on paint or bumpy surfaces ? 2- how do you add rain droplets on surfaces ? 3- and how do you make a clear sunny exterior scene into rainy reflective one ? 4) Does Corona converter work flawlessly with all V-ray materials ? Or are there limitations in what it can or cannot convert ?
Hello, thank you for suggestions! I'll think about it ;) In relation to the last question, converter works pretty well however sometimes you need to adjust couple of things :D
