I think when you touched on how being the best artist in the world doesn't necessarily mean you'll be the richest artist is spot on. Even though our company sells renders we still have to go out and connect with people and help sell them on why renders are going to help them not only sell their development to investors but also the public/potential users. I missed the webinar so if there is a recording or even a copy of the excel sheet that would be awesome!

I might sound ignorant, but the best arch viz artists don't come from "third world countries". There are some good arch viz artists in east europe, but the creme de la creme is still in the western hemisphere and industry countries. Yes, the price is more "premium", compared to something from India for example, but it's usually better quality. It's also easier for architects/investors to pick someone from the same country, because of language barrier, understanding of local spaces, local vegetation and general the looks of local public space, local difference to aesthetics as a whole and also the language barrier that isn't there.
I mainly produce images for german architects and i'm pretty sure, they wouldn't be satisfied with something from let's say Mexico, China or India. I charge around 1500€ per image + an extra if no 3D model is delivered. I'd actually like to hear what you suggest for the european market.
But for everyone out there who has the skills, I'd recommend charging as much as possible. We don't need the market flooded with cheap (and cheap looking) images. You are not doing other visualizers, but especially yourself a service by selling yourself too cheap.
I find your comment very interesting. I have a question, after a year since you wrote your comment, how do you see the present and the future of Archviz, how do you see the job offer as an independent?, by the way, what country are you from?

As I wrote, I'm from Germany. down below i give you some feedback. i even put some headlines ;)
Fast and easy money:
Out of all the jobs arch viz is still suitable as a solo artist and freelancer, since all you need is a pc, yourself and the skill. projects have very short spans which means a constant cash flow in short intervals. it can be hard on the psyche because you have constant deadlines that aren't very flexible and clients that will go to someone else in an instant if they are not satisfied to the fullest.
accumulation in capitalism:
nonetheless as in every other branch, i see a concentration of workforce into studios or even bigger arch viz firms. they have optimised workflow, departments and quality and can deliver better and faster results than a single freelance artist. at least here in central europe the market seems pretty saturated with mid to high-end arch viz studios. but i oftentimes see a lot of studios looking for talents to employ.
Advertising and reach on social media:
if you are starting new, it can be very hard to get a lot of followers on instagram and reach as the major architecture media outlets are very restrictive and with such a saturated high quality market it's pretty hard to stand out and gain a following. a good goal is around 1k-10k followers as a single artist or small studio. cheating your followers is not going to give you projects, you need real followers. so your second job is being on instagram, following, interacting and liking stuff and presenting yourself with high quality references and a website. it's hard work and aquiring new clients is a hard thing not a lot of people talk about.
Arch viz as a stepping stone:
here in germany a lot of arch students try using arch viz to get a foot into the more exclusive architecture field with the goal to open an architecture office.
AI:
If we talk about AI that's a whole different story. right now i don't see how it's changing the field drastically, as i've always predicted it's a tool, but not a replacement for a human.
economy:
another aspect is the global and local economy and the effects of inflation which makes investors go more towards the stock exchange than to real estate (at least in the western world right now). this affected everyone in the construction industry and caused major reduction of projects.
future of architecture:
at least here in germany the future of architecture lays more in renovating and planning with existing structures than planning new buildings. this can also affect arch viz. it takes high 3d and texturing skill to make something look believably old, used, rusted, waethered etc.

I think that it would be much help to talk about how can we find our first clients and what do you recommend to start working on the find those clients, not talking just about motivating, because there are too many videos about just motivating and not really helping. The only good way to Make Money in Arch Viz is to sell training courses....just like you do
Ava, all this is good advice, but when people from poorer countries speak about their struggles, we can't compare them to the rest of the developed world. There's one thing that is constant around the world that greatly affects those from poorer countries, which is the cost of software & equipment. Software & equipment is not suddenly cheaper because you live in a poorer country, you are literally priced out of the market in archviz. There's no simple solution, but these are not excuses, just facts.
