Romania was already Romania when Transylvania united with the country in 1918 :) The name was given after the unification between Wallachia and Moldova in 1859, under the rule of Alexandru Ioan Cuza.
Not true. There was no country under Cuza. There were two Principalities that united in 1859. The name of the union The Romanian Principalities (Principatele Romane). They were still under Ottoman occupation. Only in 1877 they gained their independence and only in 1881 The Romanian Kingdom was formed.
Nice video! But please note that when Transilvania united with Romania, the country was already named Romania (it has been a kingdom with this name since 1881, while the unification took place in 1918). Actually we never had a region called Wallachia. This is an exonym (i.e. a name given by others) just like we refer to Germany as Germany, but the Germans themselves call it Deutschland. The part of Romania usually called Wallachia by foreigners is the Southern part of Romania, which we called Tara Romaneasca (which literally means "Land of the Romanians / Romans".). The term "Wallach" is name initially given by the Germanic people (and others) to people speaking a Latin language. For instance, even today, in Hungarian language the Italians are called "olasz" and Romanian are called "olah”. The word comes from old German where ”Walach” means ”stranger” or ”non-German”.
Just for you to understand once: Wallachia is only the Southern part of Romania, called Țara Românească (this is why Wallachia). This united with Moldova/Moldavia, the Eastern part in 1859 and the new unified state started to use the common name of Romania. There was no Italy till 18620 or 1864, you now better, but The Kingdomof Piemonte, of Neapole etc until unified. În March 1918 Basarabia united with Romania, in Nov. 1918 Bucovina and the process was fulfulled on 1st of Dec. 1918 when Transylvania united with Romania.
Moldovans have similar flag with Romanians but we have the Roman eagle only on battle flags. And all units use that flag. Moldavians whas on start of parade.
@@aiziszizis2536 Because we've been given a fake "latin" identity for the last 200 years and our language has also been butchered and forcibly transformed to sound more "latin" for the last 200 years also, what we speak now is something that is unnatural and kind of awkward to express yourself in, and it also creates many times a lot of confusion between people when they speak this weird language amongst themselves. We should get rid of the "Romanian" identity, and really look into our past and be honest with ourselves with who we really are and where we come from. And maybe the language should also be reversed somehow, and have it come back to the way it originally was before the forced latinization
