There is nothing to do in Bucharest except seeing “casa poporului” which is the second biggest building in the world but it is not even that beautiful it is just big
@@henrichvonstaufenberg4841 How do you know that? Have you been here yourself? I lived here for 20 years and the city still have a lot of surprises for me. It's a city that never stop to surprise you.
I particularly like Bucharest for its many Art Deco buildings from the thirties. The city has changed a lot in recent years. The stray dogs are gone and there has been a proliferation of funky cafes, bars and restaurants. Global hipster culture has made Bucharest more like any other place. For good or worse
I invite y'all to visit Romania! There are a lot of things to do, starting from Bucharest, the main city and the capital of this beautiful country. Thank you for being here and showing up some of Romania's stuff!
Oh, I’m loving seeing Bucharest! I had no idea they were so into street art which is a favorite of mine. And the rainbow umbrellas were awesome! There’s a smaller version near Borough Market in London but nothing like that own! Thanks again for another vlog travel escape !
I thought she had raided my closet from the 80's. Fashion comes around again. You looked great Allison. Bucharest was a lot more hip than I thought. I just love the Eastern European food. It reminds me of my childhood.
Whoa...Allison is totally rocking the high-waist jeans! Who knew there was so much cool art in Romania?? I loved the "pig-dog" comment. Nailed it! Another excellent video/tour/adventure. Thank you!
Hi! I live in Romania and trust me it is really beautiful. If you wanna visit it make sure you don't miss Transfăgărășan and Brașov. Although many people say that Romania is a country which has rude and unfriendly people, don't believe everything you hear. It is awesome! 💕
It's so fascinating to see Bucharest from a tourists eyes. Ive lived in Bucharest my whole life and im so glad you showed the beautiful side of out city.Lots of love❤
That indie theatre looks cool... Alternative tours seem to give more of a local P.O.V & flavour... :) There is a difference between tagging, graffiti art, and street art... Tagging is straight up ugly, graffiti art can be tasteful, and street art is the most likely to be appreciated & kept...
Cheers Mate for the good reviews to Bucharest ! I was born there, and i love that city. At the moment i work and i live in London, another lovely city. Hopefully you enjoyed your trip to Romania. Take care guys ! You are a great couple !
When I took my English partner for the first time to Bucharest, where I lived and worked for 5 years before relocating to the UK, I planned for us to have 4 days around the city. They turned into 4 vlogs, the last 2 still to be published. But I missed the street art, and I am so happy to see it in your video. Bucharest is still as cool and refreshing and unexpected as I have always known it. Will go share now on my official Facebook page (for tomorrow morning).
Hi guys. I have no idea how much are you planing to stay in Romania but after you finish with Transylvania area i strongly recommend to visit the south east part especially the Danube Delta which is a wild place. Also Constanta city is a good choice especially for historical sights, actually the city is packed with 3th-4th century history. Anyway keep on traveling and if you need hints let me know!
I found you through @karaandnate. I finally finished watching all of their videos to date. Now I watched this and will start from the beginning now. I’m excited to see your adventures!!! P.S. Bucharest is beautiful!
As a Romanian I recommend anyone coming to Bucharest to visit the parks, they are amazing!! Also go to “centrul vechi” which means The Old Center! It has beatiful art and shops! Ps: Im also canadian and jewish...
you should go to Brasov. there is where i live and you'll love it! there are so many things to see here. i'm sure my hometown is on your adventure list.
If you're ever in Playa del Carmen, they have an excellent food tour. Our guide was brilliant; he said was looking into offering a graffiti / mural tour too, as Playa has them everywhere. Highly recommend!
You should definitely visit Timisoara in your Romanian trip. It is a lovely city in west Romania, full of historical buildings and I know you will love the Unirii Square, especially in the summer. It is the city where the 1989 revolution against communism started, and you'll find a couple of museums on that subject there. Also, go to Viniloteca, it is a small, local vinyl shop, where you can also have the most amazing coffee and a very good craft beer selection. But I definitely recommend to have the Bereta beer, it is one of, if not, the best Romanian craft beer at the moment (and I'm not just saying it, there are awards to prove it). ^_^
Glad you enjoyed our capital. If you're in Sibiu and have time to spare, take a ride to Alba Iulia. It's like an 1 hour drive via the highway. You can google it and see if you like it, but it'll be a shame not to visit it. The city was a former Roman Legion and the citadel is dating back ever since XVIII'th century - your choice. Cheers and hope you enjoy our country!
My friend and i are watching this out of curiosity. We're both from Romania, Bucharest and we've never seen this kind of street art and cafes and now we know what to visit next. 😂 We're like "Wow, is this street really from Bucharest?" 😂😂 I think we should go out more... 😂😂
I think, it s called an Ego wall, they have them, even in NYC, now, and all over, also, In Warsaw, they have a "Steam Punk" themed restaurant in Warsaw, Called the "Water Tower". You should go there,..next time.
Eric, were you in band when you were in school? If so, what instrument did you play? I can't tell from your quick shot, but I believe it is either a german baritone or tenor horn?
The Endless Adventure it's on my list of places to visit, so it's good to know that there are areas that aren't swarming with people if you're looking for a more laid back vibe :)
In the middle of the summer Bucharest is half empty. And if it is the weekend most of the people go to the Black Sea or the mountains. That being said, when the night comes that place with umbrellas (The Old Town)is packed with people and tourists.
Alicia W Hello! Since i live in Bucharest, I want to give you some advice! It is actually good to come in the summer, because Romanians are so big on going to the sea, so it would be much less packed and the traffic would be better (for Bucharest at least, traffic is not of our good points 😂). The only downside would be the extremely hot weather, even though recently it has been raining quite a lot. The only very touristy area that I can think of is the Old Center (Centrul Vechi), which is full of bars, clubs, restaurants and tourists (especially at night). I still recommend checking it out though, beacuse of the beautiful architecture and the interesting artsy shops that are located there, but try and avoid eating anything because it is usually overpriced and you could get it a few minutes away for cheaper. Central Bucharest is very beautiful because of the old buildings which reflect then prosperity of Romania in the interwar period - they remind you of France, that’s why Bucharest is called “Little Paris”. I suggest just taking a walk from the Piata Unirii (Union Square) metro station towards Univesitate and then Piata Romana and just admire the view. You will see that there are a lot of Romanian flags because this year marks 100 years from the formation of Great Romania, which was composed of today’s Romania plus Cadrilater/ South Dobruja which is now in Bulgaria, North Bukovina which is now in Ukraine, and Bessarabia, which today is split between Moldova and Ukraine. There are streets full of street art all over Bucharest like you see in the video and you can find them randomly just walking around. The most famous one is Arthur Verona street (at least I think so), but you can see colorful grafitti in pretty much all back streets. You should visit the churches in the central area, even if you are not religious, because most of them are Orthodox, so they are fancier and more decorated than Catholic churches. Another thing you should check out are the parks and gardens like Cismigiu or Herastrau (now renamed king Michael I) and of course, Palatul Parlamentului, another touristy attraction like Centrul Vechi. If you have the possibility, you should visit some other cities here, especially in Transylvania, because they have a more Austrian vibe to them. Have a nice travel!
You are right about everything with one exception, actually this year marks 100 years from the Great Union which was the union of Transylvania with ("small") Romania (which was the result of the Little Union between Moldavia and Wallachia)
It's so funny though..I had to watch your videos,to get new tips of my town!😁😀😎Thank you, guys! Go to Constanta please!!! Its my hometown! You will get in love with!
