You know, watching a video like this is actually really nice. I work on projects all the time, and they seem like they a ridiculous amount of time and effort spent on silly problems. They generate so much frustration. When I watch people do projects on RUclips, months of work may have been compressed into a ten-minute video, which of course can give you an unrealistic expectation of how long a project like that can take. I like this video actually give you a concept of the amount of work that goes into a project like this.

The headphone thing seems stupid but one of the reasons for it could be ADA compliance, if your headphone jack breaks then you have to fix the machine making sure that if someone blind walks up to it and plugs in they don't accidentally withdraw $100 or lock they're account because the headphone jack is not working. Great video, I really love your stuff!

I wanna be honest here: you usually do win from slot machines. Not the jackpot, but some money. Slot machines usually have a return rate of around 80-95 percent, meaning for every dollar you play, on average you get around 80-95 cents back. This of course means that the house still wins, but the player also feels like they don't lose as much. It's made to keep people interested.
But anyways, great video man! Love your content :)

Loved the video, but I'm really stumped that you didn't think about the encryption keys in the keypad. I'm actually really stumped that it hasn't self-destructed when you started messing with it. A normal store terminal will self-destruct the PIN encryption CPU if cooled to far, or tried to open.
Imagine if anyone could buy an ATM, switch the keypad so they'd store the PINs and then set it up!? I wonder what PCI is going to say to this project - normally I'd say they'd have to audit this machine, since you've changed it.
For reference, when encryption keys are entered into terminals (for stores) at my work, it happens in a specially secured room where only certified people have access.

I was especially aware of the keypad issue after remembering a related video on the EEVBlog so I was holding my breath. Concerning operation, how does the cash transfer work in this case? Does the ATM act as a card terminal and transfer money onto StrangeParts' bank account and the ATM pays out the money that Scotty deposited in there?

    So,
    Pros
1.It's a gimmick, it looks cool.
    ... that's all I got.
    Cons
1.People won't know it's an ATM, unless you put a huge sign with an arrow pointing it over it. They have been programed to recognized normal ATMs though.
2.This makes a complex machine, even more complex. Kinda like a printer that breaks in the office, only this one has 3 black toners, and 5 drums... just because.
3.And this combines with the above. You'll be the only one able to fix it, so it's more expensive, and more time consuming. You can't have that in an ATM. There'll be a riot!
That out of the way, let's see how you did.
