Hello, Chris. As a Malaysian, I always order Nasi lemak with spicy chicken at McDonald's for lunch or dinner. Porridge is a good food to eat if you have the flu or a fever, or during the rainy season. To be honest, you did an excellent job identifying the spicy sauce as one for Nasi Lemak rather than rice porridge. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday for the first Ramadan bazaar, which will feature a wide variety of food that will astound you.
Here are some of the best foods to get or find later at the bazaar:
    1. Ayam Percik - The chickens are marinated in spices like turmeric, lemongrass, cumin, coconut milk, and others before being roasted to perfection.
    2. Roti John - an inside long bun filled with either chicken or beef minced meat and wrapped in eggs with a messy sauce similar to mayo.
    3. Kebab and roasted lamb - the same as before, but better.
    4. Traditional Malay desserts known as kuih-muih, such as kuih talam, kuih lopes, kuih bengka, tepung pelita, as well as modern treats such as jellies and cheese tarts.
    5. Colorful, Iced Cold Drinks - You'll find it throughout the bazaar, with a variety of juice options ranging from watermelon to an unknown drink that you must guess and try.
    6. Apam balik, also known as upside-down pancakes, are typically filled with peanuts and corn, and the crispy variety is preferred.
    7. Murtabak - similar to roti john but in square form with thick and juicy minced meat (chicken or beef) and onions wrapped in a crispy, paper thin roti.
I can't write it any longer. Chris, you will explore the bazaar later. See ya!

Hope you are enjoying yourself with all the different authentic Malay cuisines while in Malaysia (don't worry if you miss Chinese Malaysian food - Chinese food can be found everywhere else in the world like China, HK, Taiwan and every Chinatown in the US even). Malay food is hard to find outside of the Malay peninsula world. Enjoy while you can 😘

      Actually,no lol
Malaysian Chinese food is not the same as anywhere else in other countries including China, HK, Taiwan.
There is a reason why people from those places come to Malaysia - just to eat the Malaysian Chinese cuisine lol (where else can u get authentic Bak Kut Teh (dry and soupy), Hokkien Fried Noodle, Mee Kolo, Asam Laksa etc)
if you are not from Malaysia, I suggest you try it, you will love it! (or maybe not). I recall a few channels including 1 who is originally from HK enamored by the Malaysian Chinese dishes here (apart from our delicious Malay and local Indian food :) )

Lemak, directly translated is fat in English. However in culinary context it refers to the taste of coconut milk creaminess. Many, even Malaysians fail to understand this. Fatty rice sounds so unhealthy which is not the case.

If you are still in Malaysia during the month of Ramadan, Malay and Indian Muslim food shops will be closed during the day and only open in the afternoon for Muslims to break their fast. However, Chinese restaurants and food courts in the Mall are still open. The special feature is during the month of Ramadan, there will be many Bazar Ramadan like Night Market open in the afternoon where you will find a variety of traditional Malay dishes for sale. It will be crowded with people because many Muslims will be looking for food to break the fast. And even more entertaining, non-Muslims also took the opportunity to get Malay traditional sweets that are rarely sold on normal days. Popular Ramadan bazaars in Kuala Lumpur are at Jalan Raja Alang, Kampung Baru, Masjid India Jalan Tungku Abdul Rahman. And more food stall at Stadium Shah Alam, Selangor State about 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. In addition to Nasi lemak, ayam percik, ayam golek, you can also get popular east coast food such as Nasi Dagang and Nasi Kerabu and much more that you hard to find in normal days.

The secret of food tasted better when eating using hands is your brain playing with your mind by activating certain chemical based on our senses. Our senses are crucial for us to experience life to the fullest, for example the smell of flowers in substance like fragrance oil. They smell good but it smells better in a sense of more refreshing than fragrant oil if you smell it directly from the flower itself... its nothing wrong about the oil but with actual flower, your brain activated one more sense which is a sense of sight, your sense of smell is now upgraded with another sense, that makes it even more settled. Same with food, your sense of sight (by seeing the food), sense of smell (yes the smell of the food), sense of taste (you get from your tongue) are now upgraded with one more sense which is a sense of touch... so 3 senses now became 4 and that is why your brain is more focused on the subject which makes the whole experience more complete, thus the food tastes better.

Thank you Chris for sharing the video. Yes I like Malaysian McDonald too. They have lots of food varieties that you can’t find in other countries. For instance you won’t find the rice porridge here in my country. Just the normal McDonald but sometimes they come out with different kind of burgers on the menu. We also have the corn with butter too. Anyway I hope your throat feel better soon. You know what, I think you should stay away for 2-3days from spicy, deep fry or cold drinks. What I know is it could make your voice/throat worse. The rice congee you have is the way to go if it’s not spicy. Go to the pharmacy and get some medicine if possible. Anyway wish you well and enjoy yourself in KL. Stay safe and take care. Btw we miss Gladys, hope she could be there with you.😊

Since we have grab food services, we seldom dine in now except drive-thru’ if we are on the street. Eating at home with our cats surrounding the dishes, giving them some bites anyway.

Have you hit the clubs at Trec...
Belum cuba, belum tahu... if you haven't tried, you wouldn't know (tagline on the Mekdi door)
Rahmah sets we introduced by the current govt with a cap on the price at RM5 (Menu Rahmah = Benificent Menu)
I would say that the pita is Middle Eastern friendly...
That porridge is great when down with flu...
Nasi = Rice, Lemak = Rich, Fatty.. Richly flavoured Rice...

After having an Indonesian GF and eating some amazing food with my hand, I can tell you the following about eating with your hands.. In Indonesia, the left hand is traditionally perceived as the hand used to clean oneself after going to the toilet. When shaking hands, offering a gift, giving or receiving something, eating, pointing or touching someone, among other things, it is considered proper etiquette to only use the right hand.

Bro you should drop by Singapore. There are also interesting places to visit. Furthermore it's about 4 hours away from KL.
Hope to see you in Singapore 😊...

That area you scootered thru looked beautiful. I am eating breakfast as you eat at McDonalds. Thanks for the company 😂. If you could create a burger for McDonalds- The ChrisTravelBurger. What would you put in it? I am guessing two toppings atleast - fried chicken & some type of corn 🍔.
Awsome video & hope your voice will clear up soon. Stuff yourself with lemons & honey☕. Stay safe 🙏🙌

No never saw corn at McDonald's. I'm glad you didn't pour that sauce in your porridge. The food all looked great. How was the prices. Was your dish cheaper in the food market the other day or in McDonald's?

Just want to share you one of our Malaysian culture espeacially malay culture, we don't use our left hand much while eating. We don't eat our food using left hand but right hand only. If you find some locals and having eating together then you may ask them why.. it could be your fun fact to know.😄
