Hi Chris! Welcome to Malaysia. Hope you'll enjoy uour stay and make a return visit. Got to tell you something about the Petaling Street vendors. Most of the stall there are owned by foreigners. Initially those stalls owners are Malaysian, they employ foreign workers to man the stalls, eventually the Malaysian owners sold the stalls to them (their foreign workers) due to many reasons. So most of the stalls there are now owned by foreigners... (Bangladesh, Nepal, Myamars etc..) Note that I said not all, but most of them.
@@1yanfei i think he too generous in a wrong place coz that place is a rip off for tourist,,,,,,they sell very high margin...he should bargain 50% ....most of the street vendors or workers in Chinatown are foreign workers.. some maybe they don't have document or passport.....he should be generous for local street-food that in need
Those people could be illegal immigrants who came to Malaysia for work, so they don't want to be in the camera. There are so many immigrants who come to Malaysia illegally.
some or most of the workers at these stalls in petaling street are foreigners , i think kanken bag originally from norway..glad u enjoy petaling street:)..once your body adapted to the climate here, then you wont sweat that much, bear in mind the humidity here is very high
For anyone who's wondering, the phrase "Terima Kasih" is not only means "Thanks". Another meaning of it is "Received love". And to answer it, we say "Sama-sama" which means "Me/Us also".
Direct translation of "Sama" is Same. "Sama-Sama" the plural of "Sama" can then mean "Same, Same". So when a "Terima Kasih" is replied with "Sama-Sama"...another way to look at it is it actually meant to indicate "Thank You too"... That's why in Malaysia when you say "Thank You" you will often hear "Thank You" as a respond rather than "You're Welcome / Welcome"
Thanks you so much for this new remarkable video from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this week in March of 2023.I wish you good luck always in great joy 2023❤❤❤
Hi Chris! I've seen a lot of vlog videos but I must say you are one of a kind - cheerful, and more importantly generous, and very kind. Keep up the good job bro!
Hi Chris.. sorry, most of the street vendors or workers in Chinatown are foreign workers.. some maybe they don't have document or passport, and most of the things selling are fakes (literally its prohibited selling those), thus that's why they're avoiding the camera.. Most of Malaysians they're working in office buildings, malls or shops that's why you find hard to meet them on the streets during day or office hours.. unless if you go to some places where many Malaysians vendors there like in Kampong Baru, pasar malam, pasar tani etc it would be better.. #It's better to avoid Jalan Alor and Petaling Street if you are not with Malaysian friends who knows how to choose and bargain..☺️
Why are those sellers so snobby 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I've been living in Kuala Lumpur for over 2 decades & would never go to ps to shop because it's expensive & crowded.... I love the malls....tq Chris for taking me there 😅😅❤❤❤

Hi Chris, good bit of shopping there and like that your going to donate the purchases. Lovely thing to do. Guess you bought there for the experience and chats with the vendors. Definitely some not keen on the camera but they will have their reason. Plenty who will. Great to see people who know your channel happy to meet you. So much to see there. Have fun and see you next time. 👍
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, finding people that have seen the channel on these streets is incredible! Never in a million years did I think that would happen! 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you, Chris . I am going there shortly and I will definitely visit this street and do some good shopping. This video is very informative 😊. As you mentioned, one should watch out. If not, we could end up spending all the money here 😅
Some vendors are not 100% legal with the way they operate, so a dude with a camera is scary to them, as it may incriminate them once it goes online. There isn't any other reason why they shy away. Its an authoritative fear that creeps up on them that might come off as rude on the surface.
Fjallraven is a really good Swedish brand. The backpack is called the Kanken and retails for $90 here in Seattle. I think I heard that you bought it for around $12 USD!! Amazing! Thank you for the video!
Hey Chris. Entertaining video. You are really cool to the vendors you encounter. Sucked that some of them weren’t so nice. I’ve been to that street in my two visits to KL. Yes it can be fun picking up some knockoffs for relatively cheap, but then again as you said the quality likely sucks. That street also used to have a few stores that sold pirated DVDs, but when I last went in 2019, those were long gone. Anyway, thanks for sharing another adventure. You looked really uncomfortable with how hot it was. Hope you got a nice cool shower afterwards.
Honestly, I thought you buy the things too quickly. You should go further inside as generally booths near to the entrance are more expensive compared to the ones at the back. And you definitely should haggle the price further .Some of them are way still expensive compared to the quality. Most workers there are foreigners too and sometimes rude (not all of course) . They dont like the camera as some of them works illegally there. Air mata kucing in English is the Malaysian version of Longan fruit. Mata kucing directly translate to Cat's eye as the seed similar to the cat's eye while air (pronounce as ayir) means water.

You are very generous bro. For local, we always bargain half price. They said no, we replied ok thank you and raised our feet. Usually they will call back and offer a more reasonable price, sometimes we even ask for it to be cheaper because it is known that it is a counterfeit product

Love the video bro, just came back from KL last week. When buying watches ask for the high quality you get better watches from the special suitcase. And please understand that plastic bags are a big problem in Asia. When you buy something just tell them "no plastic please".
what’s the settings of your go pro11? thank you!I love your vlogs!
Looking forward to your video with the dude selling the caps... You gotta give him a proper intro... Getting Aymen vibes here too LOL. Good stuff Chris 😎
