To all the schmucks who thumbed down, from a JKA shotokan 4 dan, when an elite super athlete and world champion explains how to do a technique, it’s best to drop your opinion and just listen and learn If Benny doesn’t know how to throw a hook punch then all of us don’t know jackshit Osu Benny ur a living legend
Not only an exceptionally great fighter but also an incredibly excellent teacher. Some people are good at what they do but the Jet is something different. He must be from another planet.
What a great guy. Stop him at a tournament for a question or autograph and when he spoke to you it was though you were the only one in the building… He wasn’t looking past your shoulder or looking around to see who was listening to him. Just a class act. When he demo’d his roundhouse it was amazing...so fast... his strategy & technique are simply best in class
the example using a 45-degree angle hitting at 1 o'clock makes perfect sense. I always throw my left hooks with torque and 180-degree spin but aim for 12, which is probably why I miss more than connect. Thank you, guys!
As a kid watching him he was the nuts... dragons forever end fight scene. Oh my days... watching back now after training competeing etc as an adult you see his feints/ slips and movements in them films and just know he's a legit badass not just an actor..
HA...most true words ive ever herd on RUclips, "And my record shows that it does work...". I always hear Chuck Norris this, Bruce Lee that....Benny just has to show them the tape, case closed!
Yep, The Jet was a legit badass and fighter... Norris was doing point-fighting/light contact, better than nothing and he could fight, although not at the same level as Urquidez of course... Bruce Lee was just an actor and not a fighter, but he fooled everyone...
Could BL defend himself from and possibly beat up some average-joes? Sure, but being able to actually fight other pros or guys with ring/sparring's experience? No, i don't believe it, there's nothing to suggest he could... Bruce Lee didn't even spar, he was all about training, bodybuilding and theory, and never fought anyone of course, he did movies since childhood, and wanted to be a superstar, nothing else... Jeet Kune Do is nothing special, imo, and it's a philosophy more than a "style", most of BL's stuff was still heavily related to useless Wing-Chun, with few adds from boxing, fencing and such, many things borrowed from Jack Dempsey's book "How To Fight Tough"... There's also a rumor that JKD was in fact a Dan Inosanto's creation, but they used BL's name to promote it due to his obvious stardom...
Hi Sensei Benny, I'm new to your site. You have an incredible resume!! My 16 yr old daughter and I have been watching and take in your vital information!!! You are a True Champion ! A couple of months based on Michael Jai White interview you honored you as being The Real Deal ! The Best No Doubt! Michael Jai White was asked who is the Best ? He said with any hesitation Benny Urquidez !!! My daughter and I have been watching. Thank you for your incredible years of experience in the martial arts and real sport fighting ! 50⭐️ z Stay safe and healthy.
Benny Urquidez was probably the most exciting fighter in the early days of the martial arts renascence in the 60s. His remarkable speed and accuracy separated him from any other fighter of this period. As a martial artist myself in the 60s I followed his career with interest and curiosity, I had been training in boxing and the martial arts since (1955) when I was 8 years old, and throughout that period never witnessed anyone who impressed me as much as Mr Urquidez with his electrifying speed, precision and fighting spirit. His demeanour was that of a true gentleman fighter, not egotistical or arrogant. His kicking was phenomenal as many of his opponents found out to their cost. Any aspiring fighter irrespective of which art you follow would be well advised to investigate the methods that Mr Urquidez employs, he’s a legend. Regards Alan (UK)
He's so humble, polite and soft spoken, yet can completely destroy anybody who challenges him.

I see genetics blessed Sansei with his own set of bone knuckle-dusters.
That is just from hitting things. They grow harder, if you injure them all the time.

"And my record shows that it works"
Literally the exact opposite of a McDojo instructor!!!
🤣🤣🤣
that smile after he says "my record shows, it does work"
I'll pass on receiving a left hook from the Jet! His fist looked like the hand of a terminator!
"...and my record shows that... it does work."

Чётко, ёмко, без воды. Бенни Уркидес, один из величайших бойцов нашего времени.
the example using a 45-degree angle hitting at 1 o'clock makes perfect sense. I always throw my left hooks with torque and 180-degree spin but aim for 12, which is probably why I miss more than connect. Thank you, guys!
THOSE HANDS! A warrior's life is never forgiving but always rewarding.
I love his explanations. Very concise, clear and more importantly: they work.
Thank you for your teaching. Much appreciated.
An awesome fighter and brilliant instructor👍
I love that he always shows multiple ways to execute techniques. Great vid!
Awesome stuff. Thanks brother.
I'm glad he mentioned hooking both ways, most people seem to think you can only do it one way
one for each job
That smile at the end is perfect!
Benny looks like a young guy disguised as an old man, so much intensity and speed in his body language , seems so young
