VIDEO | Impact of Hurricane Ian collapses part of Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach

The force of Hurricane Ian damaged at least one major pier along the South Carolina coast. A portion of the Cherry Grove Pier collapsed into the water. Apparently the structure could not stand up to the storm surge of Ian.
The pier is a landmark along the Grand Strand. Built in the 1950s, the pier was remodeled in 1999 after it was hit by Hurricane Floyd.
