- Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are finally here and with a new generation comes new shiny pokemon and new shiny methods to hunt them with. Today I beat Pokemon Scarlet using only shiny pokemon and by the end of the run I have a full team of new shiny pokemon, shiny Paldean forms, shiny new evolutions, and take on the Victory Road story!

I wondered why my Armarouge wouldn't fight a Cetoddle with the auto battle, but then I realized it was a shiny. Real glad that the auto battle didn't start, it was really hard to tell it's color with the lighting I had at that moment

As someone who's been breeding for a shiny Dedenne for 3 whole days using the Masuda method, double tapping by looking over the spawn-boosted wild ones while I hatch eggs and STILL no luck... This run makes me feel like I'm doing something very wrong... T.T

me too! i have over 60 hours on the game and have hunted outbreaks for at least 15 hours and still zero shinys!!! im starting to think my game is broken :(

first shiny of the game was on accident. Was trying to do the dupe where you catch a pokemon and swap it with your box legend, and encountered a shiny igglybuff. Didn't even realize it was shiny till i encountered it

Pawmi was my first (and so far only) shiny in Violet! such a cute one. i'm considering shiny hunting the full dex since i now have just about every 'mon excluding the Scarlet-exclusive Area Zero 'mons, but the thought of it exhausts me LOL
Interesting to see the varying shiny luck in the comments! I found my cetoddle while trying to catch a sawsbuck! The poor thing ran up behind Sawsbuck in the middle of battle and nearly gave me a heart attack lmao. Also found two (2) Hawlucha while looking for the stakes... Plus a shiny Oinkologne while looking for a mon for my dex... and a Braviary in Area Zero while trying to get all the paradox mons to trade to my friend. Odds mean nothing if your luck sucks lmao

Honestly my favorite pokemon in Tinkaton,,so this was sooooo fun to watch
Thanks for not leaving out that the masuda method works with any 2 comparable Pokémon of different languages. Doesn’t always have to be a ditto. I crippled myself for ages not taking advantage of surprise trade to get shiny Pokémon quicker because I thought it only worked with ditto.

It was also my first shiny on my longest hunt yet... longer than 10 hours, Cetoddle. I got 4 shiny Cubchoo, 3 Shiny Sneasel, 2 Shiny Snorunt, 1 shiny Froslass, and 1 shiny Crabominable.
But that's not all, during my first Shiny Sneasel, a Shiny Cetoddle spawns in the background, but guess what? After I catch Sneasel, the Shiny Cetoddle DESPAWNED because it walked too far away. It was absolutely SOUL CRUSHING.
But then I kept trucking and eventually found Steeve or Steetitan, my buddy. Used him as my ace along with Meowscarada throughout the league and Area Zero.
This makes me wish the game could let us do a second adventure in DLC so that we can build a shiny team from the ground up and take on more gyms or at least one battle challenge to the next as our shinies grow and level up.
I only have one shiny so far but it's the best one I could have got. Tatsugiri, my new favorite. I found it the day after I raised mine to lv100. Now I have another one to train.

I have this video saved to watch later bnecause I'm using a shiny team myself, all almost by masuda hatching save my riolu which was an outbreak. I failed my shiny sprigatito with my games first ever crash and have been hatching like mad since. I'm at 2.5k eggs hatched now, masuda method, and slowly going insane. Bruh, my little brother wanted more starters so he bred his quaxly and hatched a shiny one in like 3 eggs! Thrn he decided he wanted more fuecoco (he also thought it was just really easy doing egg shiny hunts after that fast one). He got a shiny one in like 15 eggs. Then he spent 9 hours trying to get a spriatiton which finally happened. He also doesn't know abt the masuda method XD
Well I got on his switch and found out that he got the eggs from link trades. He told me that he breezed them and was setting up breeding to trick me but when he traded me his “last” egg and it was a shiny fuecoco I knew he got them hacked. It’s so dumb how he always does this and then he tricks me into keeping shiny Pokémon from “him” that are actually hacked. I released the fuecoco in front of his eyes and he was so mad at me 🤣🤣

My shiny luck is terrible. The only one I encountered in the game was a shiny Arrowkuda in the background while I was in a battle and I rushed to get the fight over with, but it was gone while I finished the fight.
I got 3 Shinies the day I started playing Violet! Shiny Lechonk right outside of the lighthouse, Shiny Shinx before Rock Titan, and Shiny Squawkability near the Grass Gym
My Bro got a shiny pokemon full odds in violet, which I'm very impressed of. He now went on a trip for a few days so this reminds me of Jim and entertains me just a little extra!

I don't know if anyone will see this but I did this exact challenge for Pokémon Scarlet as well , I caught one shiny for each gym, My 8 Pokémon was a Golduck, Garchomp, Cacturne, Vivilion, armarouge, ceruledge , Hariyama and Kricketune. I'm glad both of us found this type of challenge fun to do. I am still only using shiny pokemon in the post game, I caught a shiny roaring moon and a sneasel so far.
