Let’s Go looks pretty good compared to SV - if you prefer Paldea that’s fine because it’s obviously got other things going for it other than the graphics, as have some of the other newer titles like Arceus (my favourite), but I don’t think you can pretend that they look better than Let’s Go. It’s kinda made to look good and be a little bit shallow.
To be fair these games are *A LOT* less ambitious and graphically demanding compared to Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet due to being mostly heavily faithful to the original Kanto games. Absolutely true though due to the simplistic (but still pleasant) art style GAME FREAK went with for the Let's Go! titles.

I'm really happy your final team included buddy. While off topic I completely empathize with you. Last year when I had to put down my husky after him being with me for 14 years I was heartbroken. To try and distract myself I booted up my switch and saw that skyrim was on sale. So I bought it for the 5th time in my life and started playing. Got to the dawn guard dlc and remembered I could get a husky companion. So now the day my best friend passed he reincarnated into my favorite game and now lives in my home guarding my wife and kids. Funny how games work like that sometimes.

I love my dragonite Karliah, she was born in kalos and I raised her in hoenn, and she's dominated every pokemon league since! But my favorite species of pokemon from generation 1 is mewtwo!
Glad I saw this channel before it popped off, because with this quality there's no way you don't skyrocket in subs. Favourite gen 1 Pokemon is probably Alolan Sandshrew/Alolan Raichu, though if that doesn't count then maybe Vaporeon

I know this video a little older but I was so surprised to check and see you only had 8.7k subs! The video quality is amazing, editing and your narration/presence... Everythint was great! Ive been playing Pokemon since I was 10 when the first games came out, but as I got older Ive had less time to dedicate to gaming as a whole. I own Lets Go Eevee AND the original Pokeball but Ive never even turned in on to get the Mew. I own Brilliant Diamon and Ive never played it. I did put like 300 hours into S/V, another 200 into Sw/Sh and like 120 into PLA, but I really skipped over the remakes and I feel like I missed out now. This video made me grab my Lets Go Eevee and Pokeball to set it up after work and nake myself sit down and play. I could use a good nostalgia dose and a happy casual game to relax. I appreciate your patience with hunting shinies so I can live vicariously through you. Im super happy to have found your channel and cant wait to see what else you have going on here! I appreciate that you did a giveaway of your finds too. It really helps to keep the Pokemon community positive. I recently got a shiny Mew from another youtuber Osiris and I treasure it. Did a playthrough like this for my first run of the game :) Such a blast, and really got me to appreciate pokemon that I hadnt used before. Ended up with pidgeot, parasect, starmie, jynx, magmar, and nidoqueen! Really cool to see someone doing a video on the concept, it was a lot of fun watching your playthrough!

@@Cloud_hair it’s great that you’re doing a shiny only run, just keep going and you’ll eventually get used to the monotony of hunting until it’s just exciting - I never really did shiny hunting until this video and since I stuck with it, I absolutely love it now 😄
Shiny Nidoqueen also looks amazing! (I have multiple shiny Nidoqueen and Nidokings due to trading from my Pokémon Go). As for my favourites if we are talking from the Anime I’d have to go with Magmar as my favourite episode as a kid was when Ash fought Blaine and I was absolutely mesmerised by Blaine’s Magmar. In the gaming universe I’d have to go with Gyarados and Arcanine (with a special mention to Cloyster, if we are talking gen 1 IYKYK)
Tysm for this video. I been trying to find a video of somebody doing this the way you did but literally couldn't find anything. I love the added ruleset as well and will definitely be using it as I been wanting to tackle a shiny challenge but wasn't sure if it was even possible because I couldn't find any shinies for hours at the start of the game. Glad to know it can work and I'll also be using the rules you put in this video. I encourage anybody who wants a simple challenge that they don't mind putting some hours into to do this because it's so much fun.

@@ThisIsTheWayfarer been at this challenge for 6 days and I finally got a run going for me. I'm currently at the second gym with a shiny bellsprout and a shiny Zubat. I made an extra rule making me name all my Pokemon that are shiny and I'm stuck fighting misty. I tried leveling both my Pokemon to the cap which is 19 and I'm still struggling. So I decided I'm gonna grind for a shiny Rattata . If I get a shiny Charmander I won't complain but I don't think it'll help much with this gym sadly so I'd have to keep grinding for a different shiny if that happens to be safe.
It took me many hours on multiple different sav files to catch my first shiny, but on this one that It took me 10 hours to catch a bellsprout and for Zubat only 2-3. I wish luck was more on my side but it's okay. So far I spent around 24+ hours just trying to get past the first gym which was hell

When I was watching this video I was like wow this video is so good. Hey man, just letting you know that as I understand it, the catch combo odds boost applies to all Pokémon, not just the first to spawn in. I’ve spent a very long time hunting in this game and I’ve always hunted with those odds in mind, and it seemed accurate to me at the time. I don’t know if more info has come out about how LGPE work, but to my understanding the odds boost is permanent until the combo is broken.
Hey dude, thanks for raising this with me, especially in such a polite way! I’ve had a few people comment misinformation and in a very poor manner so it’s nice to see someone raise a potentially valid point without getting impolite. With that being said, I’m not sure if you’re correct or I am, it seems to be one of those complicated scenarios where it’s easy to get mixed up in how the games mechanics work. I agree that the odds are permanent until the chain is broken for sure, I think that much is clear - the only reason I differ and say that the fresh spawns are what the best odds come in on, is because from the research I did for this video, I understood it to be as follows: The catch combo odds of 1/341.3 only apply if you continue catching new Pokémon, because of the way the game stores the data. Say a Pokémon appears at the 1/341.3 odds but it’s not a shiny, the game will sort of store that information, so even if that spawn pops out and then back in, it’s still remembering that it wasn’t a shiny to begin with, even though it’s a ‘new spawn’ - if you continue catching Pokémon however, the game has to produce new data for the new spawn, because it genuinely is a new spawn and not the same Pokémon just popping in and out of view every so often, all the while appearing like it’s a new spawn. ADrive had a video on it and unless I’ve misunderstood him (which is entirely possible), that’s what I understood it to be. In short, catching new Pokémon over and over forces the game to produce genuinely fresh spawns at the 1/341.3 odds that you’ve worked for. If you don’t catch new Pokemon then the game recycles the same spawns over and over, at the default odds.
It's a surprise to see that you're underrated, cause your vids are absolutely amazing and full of quality; editing, storytelling, and more! This made me wanna replay the game. It looks better than what I remember, maybe because of how eh the later games that aren't arceus is. My favorite gen 1 is my overall fav with Venonat. Cutie pillow shaped friend.

People slept on these games simply because they were tired of Gen 1 remakes, but this game is really good for training Pokémon with Golden Bottle Caps and Shiny Hunting. You can easily shiny hunt a Pokémon then get it to lvl 100 to get perfect stats with Bottle Caps and boost it with candy before trading it to a newer title for competitive play for the perfect Gen 1 team
I've never liked this game until i saw this video. After playing Scarlet & Violet (which i also liked), i can now appreciate how good graphics were on this game, i might get a copy soon)
That’s awesome dude I’m glad the video helped in that way 😊 I think that’s the main draw with this game, it’s quite easy to beat and we’ve been to Kanto so many times now, but it does have some clean graphics!
I like Ivysaur the most to me it seems like a shiny that doesnt go to far, but is different in its own right. My first game ever was also LeafGreen and I picked Bulbasaur.

This is a good video! My favorite generation one pokemon is a tie between krabby and wigglytuff. Wigglytuff is my favorite pokemon to use in pokemon unite and i love all the crab pokemon and krabby is my favorite one!

Fantastic video my guy! I must say that my absolutely favorite gen 1 mon has to be Bulbasaur! Although it being most likely the weakest kanto starter. I just love that lil fella and every time i get one its always gotta be named Conrad no matter the gender 🤣

This video inspired me to start a fresh shiny-only run, really enjoyed all the tips. I find building the catch streak relaxing. But super funny story - I also tried to go for Pidgey first. Got to a streak of 180+ and who is the first shiny to appear? A Rattata, going for as much of a full shiny dex as possible so begrudgingly broke the streak and caught. Got another streak going on Pidgey, somewhere around 150’s…an ✨ Oddish ✨ appears 😂 😂 😂
That’s awesome dude, I love that! Yeah the hilarious thing about the catch combo is that it’s meant to be the best way to find a specific shiny, by boosting the odds of the species you’re catching, BUT, you’re seeing so many spawns on screen that you’re bound to find a few random ones while you’re doing it 😅😭 I think once I’ve finished the BDSP video I’m working on right now, I’m going to do an Eevee let’s go run with full odds and no use of the catch combo. I’m intrigued to see how easy or difficult that’ll be! Good luck with the run dude you’ll have to let me know how it goes!
My favourite Pokémon in gen 1 is snorlax it reminds me of my grampa who’s always sleeping in the couch. For that reason I created a special connection with snorlax

I wanted 3 Shiny Pidgey in Lets' Go for the full evolution line. I had a shiny stone and my second Pidgey took 551 Catch Combo! Had the algorithm reccomend this video by the way! Loved it!
My favourite Gen 1 Pokémon is Venusaur. Its normal and shiny forms are both amazing, which can make or break a Pokémon for me lol. I’m also a sucker for grass and poison types, as well as fairy, bug and water types too! Really enjoyed this video!

I've also always really dug Seadra's Shiny as well! It's a shame it doesn't keep that color scheme when it evolves into Kingdra... The purple is nice, but it can't compare to that cobalt blue and crimson! 👌

I really liked that Let's Go had that shiny animation in the overworld. It was the first game imo that made shiny hunting accessible to me and I had a blast catching them.
Totally agree dude! It’s an awesome feature and I’m glad that it’s been used again in Arceus and SV 😄 It’s sort of like the competitive scene because it’s one of those features that was never really accessible to most people in the older gens, but now anyone can have a try at finding shinies or building a team. Really hope it sticks around for future titles and I think it will!
@@ThisIsTheWayfarer While I agree that being able to see Shinies in the overworld is great, I was specifically referring to the shiny aura's that appeared around the Pokemon in Let's Go. It made it really easy to see Shinies even if they only had minor alterations from their base form. I wish they would continue with that. Still enjoyed my shiny adventures in SV though.

Yeah, because you gain XP for having a catch combo and as I didn’t want my shinies to be overlevelled, I just had to keep some random Pokemon in the party 👍🏻
This video has made me restart Let’s Go Pikachu with this challenge. Got an oddish straight up to help with Gyms 1&2. Currently hunting Sandshrew before Cerulean. Charmander is a rare spawn in same place so I’m going to try for both and then I’m good until after Erika. Great video!! 🎉

I did a 58streak, then ran after encountering sandshrew. Took me 2hours and 10minutes. Got a XXL with 5 perfect IVs. Bulbasaur on the other hand......... 😅
Great video! Pokemon let's go pikachu is one of my favorite pokemon games on the nintendo switch. The only shiny I got was a full odds shiny zubat so I was very impressed with your dedication!

Thanks dude, I’m really happy you enjoyed it 😄 Yeah me too, until I looked at doing this video I had no idea about all of the catch combo stuff, but as soon as I learned about it I was like holyyyy… this is gonna be awesome. Great question! So the main reason is that I only have one switch and one copy of the game, meaning I couldn’t reliably trade for the evo. Second reason is that I love Jrose and his channel, so I figured that I’d give his mascot Pokémon some love, and third is that because I’m giving the shinies away anyway, someone will have a nice surprise when I trade him on! 🥳 If you liked this one, I’m working on a Legends Arceus shiny run atm, so hopefully you’ll enjoy that one too 😊

I'm just watching this but I'm confused by your shiny explanation. I've done hundreds of hours of shiny hunting and your explanation seems wrong when you said only the next pokemon that spawns in after you catch that species? I'm fairly certain it applies to any pokemon that spawns in after your at your 31+ combo. Please correct me if I'm wrong?
Here’s how I understand it dude: If you catch 31 Pokémon and sit there waiting for a shiny, you’re waiting for it at the 1/4096 odds. If you catch 31 Pokemon, but continue to catch that same species of Pokemon (31, then 32, then 33, 34 etc.), each new spawn after your capture will spawn in at the 1/341.3 odds. Hope that helps 😊
Where to start… Do you use Lures while you’re hunting? Because obviously that will boost your odds regardless of the combo. And then there’s the ‘100+’ shinies, all recorded by you, with no evidence of showing what those encounters were like, other than your word? I am very much doubting that source in all honesty. Meanwhile, my video literally proves that the catch combo works as I’m saying it does. All of my shinies barring one, were under odds and between 100-200 encounters. Not sure why people like yourself find the need to be so arrogant, but I’m just telling you bud, if you go and do some research you’ll see that the catch combo works in the way that I’m saying it does 🤷🏼♂️ Enjoy your day as this will be my final reply.

I'm currently replaying lets go, but this time the pikachu version. I played Eevee in 2019, loved the hell out of it and got the itch to replay it and saw Pikachu up on Ebay for only 30 Euros, so i had to snatch it haha- These games are so underrated, it's kinda insane, they are genuinly amazing. Who even calls someone a ‘weeb’ you melt, besides they’ve got a valid point. Let’s Go looks pretty good compared to SV - if you prefer Paldea that’s fine because it’s obviously got other things going for it other than the graphics, as have some of the other newer titles like Arceus (my favourite), but I don’t think you can pretend that they look better than Let’s Go. It’s kinda made to look good and be a little bit shallow.

To be fair these games are *A LOT* less ambitious and graphically demanding compared to Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet due to being mostly heavily faithful to the original Kanto games. Absolutely true though due to the simplistic (but still pleasant) art style GAME FREAK went with for the Let's Go! titles.

I'm really happy your final team included buddy. While off topic I completely empathize with you. Last year when I had to put down my husky after him being with me for 14 years I was heartbroken. To try and distract myself I booted up my switch and saw that skyrim was on sale. So I bought it for the 5th time in my life and started playing. Got to the dawn guard dlc and remembered I could get a husky companion. So now the day my best friend passed he reincarnated into my favorite game and now lives in my home guarding my wife and kids. Funny how games work like that sometimes.

I love my dragonite Karliah, she was born in kalos and I raised her in hoenn, and she's dominated every pokemon league since! But my favorite species of pokemon from generation 1 is mewtwo!

I know this video a little older but I was so surprised to check and see you only had 8.7k subs! The video quality is amazing, editing and your narration/presence... Everythint was great! Ive been playing Pokemon since I was 10 when the first games came out, but as I got older Ive had less time to dedicate to gaming as a whole. I own Lets Go Eevee AND the original Pokeball but Ive never even turned in on to get the Mew. I own Brilliant Diamon and Ive never played it. I did put like 300 hours into S/V, another 200 into Sw/Sh and like 120 into PLA, but I really skipped over the remakes and I feel like I missed out now. This video made me grab my Lets Go Eevee and Pokeball to set it up after work and nake myself sit down and play. I could use a good nostalgia dose and a happy casual game to relax. I appreciate your patience with hunting shinies so I can live vicariously through you. Im super happy to have found your channel and cant wait to see what else you have going on here! I appreciate that you did a giveaway of your finds too. It really helps to keep the Pokemon community positive. I recently got a shiny Mew from another youtuber Osiris and I treasure it. Did a playthrough like this for my first run of the game :) Such a blast, and really got me to appreciate pokemon that I hadnt used before. Ended up with pidgeot, parasect, starmie, jynx, magmar, and nidoqueen! Really cool to see someone doing a video on the concept, it was a lot of fun watching your playthrough!

Found a shiny weedle in lets go pikachu almost immediately after entering viridian forest
Donphan (HG) while training my team and Pidgey (HG) while I was casually walking years after..
I found a shiny Magicarp in let’s go Eevee by accident

Shiny Nidoqueen also looks amazing! (I have multiple shiny Nidoqueen and Nidokings due to trading from my Pokémon Go).
As for my favourites if we are talking from the Anime I’d have to go with Magmar as my favourite episode as a kid was when Ash fought Blaine and I was absolutely mesmerised by Blaine’s Magmar. In the gaming universe I’d have to go with Gyarados and Arcanine (with a special mention to Cloyster, if we are talking gen 1 IYKYK)

Tysm for this video. I been trying to find a video of somebody doing this the way you did but literally couldn't find anything. I love the added ruleset as well and will definitely be using it as I been wanting to tackle a shiny challenge but wasn't sure if it was even possible because I couldn't find any shinies for hours at the start of the game. Glad to know it can work and I'll also be using the rules you put in this video. I encourage anybody who wants a simple challenge that they don't mind putting some hours into to do this because it's so much fun.

@@ThisIsTheWayfarer been at this challenge for 6 days and I finally got a run going for me. I'm currently at the second gym with a shiny bellsprout and a shiny Zubat. I made an extra rule making me name all my Pokemon that are shiny and I'm stuck fighting misty. I tried leveling both my Pokemon to the cap which is 19 and I'm still struggling. So I decided I'm gonna grind for a shiny Rattata . If I get a shiny Charmander I won't complain but I don't think it'll help much with this gym sadly so I'd have to keep grinding for a different shiny if that happens to be safe.
It took me many hours on multiple different sav files to catch my first shiny, but on this one that It took me 10 hours to catch a bellsprout and for Zubat only 2-3. I wish luck was more on my side but it's okay. So far I spent around 24+ hours just trying to get past the first gym which was hell

Hey man, just letting you know that as I understand it, the catch combo odds boost applies to all Pokémon, not just the first to spawn in. I’ve spent a very long time hunting in this game and I’ve always hunted with those odds in mind, and it seemed accurate to me at the time. I don’t know if more info has come out about how LGPE work, but to my understanding the odds boost is permanent until the combo is broken.
Hey dude, thanks for raising this with me, especially in such a polite way! I’ve had a few people comment misinformation and in a very poor manner so it’s nice to see someone raise a potentially valid point without getting impolite.
With that being said, I’m not sure if you’re correct or I am, it seems to be one of those complicated scenarios where it’s easy to get mixed up in how the games mechanics work. I agree that the odds are permanent until the chain is broken for sure, I think that much is clear - the only reason I differ and say that the fresh spawns are what the best odds come in on, is because from the research I did for this video, I understood it to be as follows:
The catch combo odds of 1/341.3 only apply if you continue catching new Pokémon, because of the way the game stores the data. Say a Pokémon appears at the 1/341.3 odds but it’s not a shiny, the game will sort of store that information, so even if that spawn pops out and then back in, it’s still remembering that it wasn’t a shiny to begin with, even though it’s a ‘new spawn’ - if you continue catching Pokémon however, the game has to produce new data for the new spawn, because it genuinely is a new spawn and not the same Pokémon just popping in and out of view every so often, all the while appearing like it’s a new spawn. ADrive had a video on it and unless I’ve misunderstood him (which is entirely possible), that’s what I understood it to be.
In short, catching new Pokémon over and over forces the game to produce genuinely fresh spawns at the 1/341.3 odds that you’ve worked for. If you don’t catch new Pokemon then the game recycles the same spawns over and over, at the default odds.
It's a surprise to see that you're underrated, cause your vids are absolutely amazing and full of quality; editing, storytelling, and more! It was entertaining to watch and stay throughout the video, a very worth it subscription💜 and I don't need to participate in the giveaway since I just have gen1-4 pokemon games but my favorite kanto pokemon is Venusaur and Vaporeon

People slept on these games simply because they were tired of Gen 1 remakes, but this game is really good for training Pokémon with Golden Bottle Caps and Shiny Hunting.
You can easily shiny hunt a Pokémon then get it to lvl 100 to get perfect stats with Bottle Caps and boost it with candy before trading it to a newer title for competitive play for the perfect Gen 1 team

I've never liked this game until i saw this video. After playing Scarlet & Violet (which i also liked), i can now appreciate how good graphics were on this game, i might get a copy soon)
That’s awesome dude I’m glad the video helped in that way 😊 I think that’s the main draw with this game, it’s quite easy to beat and we’ve been to Kanto so many times now, but it does have some clean graphics!
I like Ivysaur the most to me it seems like a shiny that doesnt go to far, but is different in its own right. My first game ever was also LeafGreen and I picked Bulbasaur.

This video inspired me to start a fresh shiny-only run, really enjoyed all the tips. I find building the catch streak relaxing.
But super funny story - I also tried to go for Pidgey first. Got to a streak of 180+ and who is the first shiny to appear? A Rattata, going for as much of a full shiny dex as possible so begrudgingly broke the streak and caught.
Got another streak going on Pidgey, somewhere around 150’s…an ✨ Oddish ✨ appears 😂 😂 😂
That’s awesome dude, I love that! Yeah the hilarious thing about the catch combo is that it’s meant to be the best way to find a specific shiny, by boosting the odds of the species you’re catching, BUT, you’re seeing so many spawns on screen that you’re bound to find a few random ones while you’re doing it 😅😭
I think once I’ve finished the BDSP video I’m working on right now, I’m going to do an Eevee let’s go run with full odds and no use of the catch combo. I’m intrigued to see how easy or difficult that’ll be! Good luck with the run dude you’ll have to let me know how it goes!

I wanted 3 Shiny Pidgey in Lets' Go for the full evolution line. I had a shiny stone and my second Pidgey took 551 Catch Combo! Had the algorithm reccomend this video by the way! Loved it!

My favourite Gen 1 Pokémon is Venusaur. Its normal and shiny forms are both amazing, which can make or break a Pokémon for me lol. I’m also a sucker for grass and poison types, as well as fairy, bug and water types too! Really enjoyed this video!

I've also always really dug Seadra's Shiny as well! It's a shame it doesn't keep that color scheme when it evolves into Kingdra... The purple is nice, but it can't compare to that cobalt blue and crimson! 👌

I really liked that Let's Go had that shiny animation in the overworld. It was the first game imo that made shiny hunting accessible to me and I had a blast catching them.
Totally agree dude! It’s an awesome feature and I’m glad that it’s been used again in Arceus and SV 😄 It’s sort of like the competitive scene because it’s one of those features that was never really accessible to most people in the older gens, but now anyone can have a try at finding shinies or building a team. Really hope it sticks around for future titles and I think it will!
@@ThisIsTheWayfarer While I agree that being able to see Shinies in the overworld is great, I was specifically referring to the shiny aura's that appeared around the Pokemon in Let's Go. It made it really easy to see Shinies even if they only had minor alterations from their base form. I wish they would continue with that. Still enjoyed my shiny adventures in SV though.

If so, agreed - Let’s Go started it, Arceus improved on it with the jingle, and then SV for some reason went nah we don’t like that 😅 I am looking forward to doing a shiny only SV run at some point though

Yeah, because you gain XP for having a catch combo and as I didn’t want my shinies to be overlevelled, I just had to keep some random Pokemon in the party 👍🏻

I did a 58streak, then ran after encountering sandshrew. Took me 2hours and 10minutes. Got a XXL with 5 perfect IVs. Bulbasaur on the other hand......... 😅

Great question! So the main reason is that I only have one switch and one copy of the game, meaning I couldn’t reliably trade for the evo. Second reason is that I love Jrose and his channel, so I figured that I’d give his mascot Pokémon some love, and third is that because I’m giving the shinies away anyway, someone will have a nice surprise when I trade him on! 🥳

I'm just watching this but I'm confused by your shiny explanation. I've done hundreds of hours of shiny hunting and your explanation seems wrong when you said only the next pokemon that spawns in after you catch that species? I'm fairly certain it applies to any pokemon that spawns in after your at your 31+ combo. Please correct me if I'm wrong?
Here’s how I understand it dude:
If you catch 31 Pokémon and sit there waiting for a shiny, you’re waiting for it at the 1/4096 odds.
If you catch 31 Pokemon, but continue to catch that same species of Pokemon (31, then 32, then 33, 34 etc.), each new spawn after your capture will spawn in at the 1/341.3 odds.

Where to start…
Do you use Lures while you’re hunting? Because obviously that will boost your odds regardless of the combo. And then there’s the ‘100+’ shinies, all recorded by you, with no evidence of showing what those encounters were like, other than your word? I am very much doubting that source in all honesty.
Meanwhile, my video literally proves that the catch combo works as I’m saying it does. All of my shinies barring one, were under odds and between 100-200 encounters. Not sure why people like yourself find the need to be so arrogant, but I’m just telling you bud, if you go and do some research you’ll see that the catch combo works in the way that I’m saying it does 🤷🏼♂️

You sell candies earned from the catch combo to a Pokemart for profit and buy more pokeballs 😊

I'm currently replaying lets go, but this time the pikachu version. I played Eevee in 2019, loved the hell out of it and got the itch to replay it and saw Pikachu up on Ebay for only 30 Euros, so i had to snatch it haha-
These games are so underrated, it's kinda insane, they are genuinly amazing. Especially for me, i kinda "hate" competitive pokemon and always prefered the catching, which might be why i love lets go and arceus so much with the high catching-emphasis
