What this country needs is to base the winning results on the popular vote and only use the electoral college if the results are say 5% or less nation wide!😊

The electoral college was created to ensure that no one state could have undo influence over the others. The founding fathers also believed the large states should not be able to lord over the smaller states. That is why the Senate is composed of two Senators from each state.
