Greetings from a South Korean in South Korea. I never knew this role of India in the Korean war. I would like to say I tremendously appreciate the great help and effort made by India to bring peace to the Korean peninsula, and I would also like to praise the gigantic success of the India's plan and practice with regard to the treatment of the PoWs in a war that would just never end. Overall, and geopolitically, I think this story tells us the importance of the India's position in the international community as a crucial balancing power. As India is growing exponentially in the economic area, we can expect far more and bigger roles that India will play in the world, and we look forward to it. Thank you, India. Love, from South Korea.

When a team of paratroopers from a third country lands in the midst of a battlefield, regardless of the extent of coordination or collaboration they attempt, it is an extraordinarily dangerous endeavor akin to a suicide mission. The chaotic nature of the battlefield and the risks associated with parachuting into a hostile environment all contribute to the grave dangers faced by the paratroopers. There is a high likelihood of being mistaken for combatants or getting caught in crossfire. You are jealous wine who does not want to admit the valour of the Indian military. "Cold" War was called so because there were no wars in Europe, where both camps (under USA & USSR) across the middle of Germany (between East & Federal West Germany) were armed to teeth. When one after the other, countries got independence from the Imperial rule of eight West European countries (& Korea from Japanese imperial occupation), there was civil-war like conditions on the independence day in each of them. It was because the two military camps (of USA or USSR) influenced the new independent regime to join their side. Korean War was the starter, with many more to follow. War in (DR) Congo was the bloodiest, till the Indian representative Rajeshwar Dayal, issued shoot-to-kill orders to our troops that brought the seceding Katanga, back to Congo Rep. Vietnam war was the longest lasting, culminating in American defeat. All these independence-linked domestic wars cost many lives & maimed many - perhaps more than in WW II. The Cold war that ran concurrently with this UN de-colonisation drive, fed on it. That culminated in American victory, handed on a platter by Michael Gorbachev, the gentleman amongst the Cold Warriors. Korean war was the only war (first & last) that was fought under UN flag, when USA coaxed UN to intervene as a non-member, PRC attacked a member state. Well, let me start from the trending kpop and kmovies from which I started to take interest in korean history. In the movie "Ode to my Father "(it's an amazing one), there a small scene that shows the Korean people criticising Indians telling that these idiots came for job in our country because their nation wasn't good enough to support them. Later, the protagonist of the movie tries to correct them for their ignorance. Protagonist appeared as it was just a movie and I know it for sure that in real life no one would speak for us. I always wondered what could I say if I'm the one to be in such a situation. Thankyou, even if I don't argue and try to convince them, I have got an answer for myself... ❤️
I know very well about The 60th Parachute Field Ambulance led by Lieutenant Colonel AG Rangaraj. They arrived in Korea in November 1950 with about 300 men and moved out from Korea only aſter the CFI had completed its mission. 09:12 Some generations of Koreans are in & around Chennai. Thanks a lot Palki, for this was not known despite being interested and having studied military history.
They still do this to us
Palki ji thanks for revealing the truth.
They speak Hindi, Tamil / Kannada, english & Korean. Like Indians, they too have become multilingual. They eat Indian food outside & Korean food at home.
Nice!
I did know this part of the Indian History. One new thing learned for the day, thanks to the beautiful Phalki

Palki is my favorite international reporter. ❤❤
I thought I studied my history books in school and the (in) famous wars of the 20th century but never knew India played such a huge role in the Korean peninsular war. Great information. 👍
Brilliant!
I never knew about it. None of our text books or history books told us this story.

Neharu had no time for Hindus migrating to India from Pakistan, leaving all of the belongings over there, sometimes even their own children or siblings. But he had enough time for Koreans! What a gesture 😢
True, he wanted to be global statesman. While leaving the state of his country shaky.
Perhaps, Nehru concentrated more on how to stop the world war 3 instead of solving the internal matters. Anyhow, India saved someone either it's Indian or Foreigner.. Koreans are our family too because Heo Hwang ok the tamil Princess got married to King Kim Suro..
@@tamodaranetamo8835ironically tamil descendants are barely 10% and rest of Koreans might have Japanese, chinese or Iranian DNA
@@tamodaranetamo8835 it's only indians who say it. South Koreans are extremely racist towards indians. So stop simping. Nehru had his priorities wrong or willfully neglected pakistani hindus coz they were hindus
How can our history textbooks miss these types of important events?.....🤦🤦
Blame the socialist liberal elites historian of our country. They whitewashed our history for political leverage of the great congress.
Thank you for your precious programmes and well researched news bulletins. I never knew that India played a key role in the Korean conflict.
Great story never heard of it. Loved it
Great Roul Played By India 👍

Very informative video. Never knew or heard about it. Proud of India's role and proud to be an Indian.
Thank you very much.
Love the way Pallki narrates the story. Wish we had RUclips in the days we studied for history exam. Great subject and narration!
None of this is mentioned in either the oxford or cambridge history syllabus, never mind the Indian high school history textbooks.
As a history teacher I have taught in all the high school education boards and knew merely one liners about this part of the Korean war. Thank you Palki and team Firstpost for digging this up 👍
