      It's usually flagged when a death notification or claims are made. My understanding is that she attempted the other insurance policies, but they were all denied. Nowadays, you have to know someone as a personal representative or agent to fly past insurance company radars. She was attempting to swindle policies he already had established but I could be wrong. She was desperate and greedy. I think she was successful in obtaining policies on children.

      @@trailertrish my wife has a policy from her employer, a joint policy (both of us) with our bank and globe life, AND a policy on our mortgage that pays the house off if she dies before me. That’s 4 policies, with me as the primary beneficiary, and she’s a clumsy lady. I also indulge in a lot of true crime, so my google history would be problematic if something should happen.🤣. I’ve asked her to change the beneficiary to her mom in at least the work policy. She told me I should be fine as long as I don’t add an affair to the mix, but yeah, you CAN have several policies on one person. (I didn’t even mention our car insurance, that has a death indemnity)

    • @cattfishing
      @cattfishing Год назад +12

      @@mandyleeann2527 exactly. Everyone keeps saying they know she's guilty from certain actions that could easily be explained, and easily be something else entirely. People saying her reaction to the sisters testimony is cold, and proves her guilt. When it could be her being fed up with and in disbelief of the accusations from a family that has thought of and treated her as a gold digger the entire relationship. If she is innocent, that could easily justify her reaction. Why would we expect her to react any differently? It is very likely this sister is one of those overbearing, boundary stepping, and pot stirring siblings who get jealous of any partner her. Brother had. I wonder what his ex wife has to say. I cannot make any solid judgments about how I feel about this case, as Idk everything. But from the little I have heard and read, I just can't see there being any reason for her to kill her husband and it most definitely would benefit her more having him still alive. Idk. I need to re watch this video because I was busy reading comments. But was there any evidence about him saying that he thinks his wife is trying to poison him? Other than word of mouth from a biased and resentful source? I thought hearsay was not allowed in court, so perhaps there is and I missed it. If so, I'm still unsure why he would accept any food or drink from anyone he suspected of trying to poison him. I sure as heck wouldn't accept anything from anyone I thought would poison me. No matter if I watched them make the food or drink. It's too much of a risk for anyone to take. OK, I'm getting a bit overboard with my comment. My apologies. Thank you for putting up with my rambling if you read thru the book.lol

If my husband died and someone told me I was gonna lose my home and all finances to take care of me and my children, I would probably go crazy too. Grieving is hard enough, without financial security being there anymore. Does not mean she’s a gold digger. Or responsible for killing him. I don’t know what I believe yet either, but after watching this video, I do see how she might be innocent in all of this. More will come out of course but I’m not a person who says guilty just from a few snippets of so called “evidence”. Honestly no one should be. The children will be so much better off with 2 happy households rather than one anxiety filled household. I stayed 3 years later than I should have for the same reason. The change in my children when we finally split was crazy to witness. It was like night and day. Turns out the parents arent the only unhappy ones in a bad relationship/marriage. I pray these kids can lead a somewhat normal life after this tragic loss. I'm so happy they have family that cares so deeply 💜

    From my understanding Katie Richins is the sister the trust was in but Kouri actually attacked the other sister (who spoke at the hearing) when questioned about the safe. The sister who spoke at the hearing referred to Katie being who Eric named for the trust and detailed the attack on herself after telling Kouri Katie was named in the trust. There's been a lot of misinformation on the sisters it seems so just wanted to throw that out there.

      Yes, the sister who spoke in court is Aimee. What a thorough, powerful statement she gave. Aimee didnt understand why Kouri was busting into the safe when Richens' father had the code to it. Kouri only needed to call her Father In Law to get the code for the safe.
      I recently read text exchanges between the father in law and Kouri. My gosh, Kouri has no limits to her twisted cruelty. There is no boundary held too sacred for her to not cross.
      In the text exchange, Kouri told the father that Eric had told her how he had major issues controlling his (fake) pain pill addiction. She was so descriptive about how high Eric said he spent his days in high school. So much so, that he went to his mother, Linda who has been deceased for pain pills behind the father's back. Kouri went on to say in the text that Eric said his opioid use was so bad that Linda told him to get help but Eric begged her not to say anything for fear of his father. She even pointed back in time when Eric had his knee surgery saying, "That's why Eric refused pain meds despite how much he hurt, he was afraid of getting hooked again."
      That's what true gaslighting is. It's not just convincing someone of a different reality, there is a wicked component of cruelty added in. She used fake conversations of two deceased people to portray a painful, confusing reality to Eric's father which the father could never ask either party about.
      It's hard to comprehend how a person can be so diabolical, so cruel as if its second nature. It's just human, imo.

      @@7BillionReasons The only issue regarding the CPR is that the defendant claimed she told officials (and at least one friend) that she did perform CPR. The paramedics only noted the discrepancy when he began CPR.
      Its true, it's not against the law for a lay person to not perform CPR. In fact some decades ago, legislators codified the "Good Samaritan Law" because of a rash of lawsuits that were sweeping across the nation against passerby's that wanted to help and broke ribs (which we know can happen) and other things that go wrong so it put a chilling effect on other passerby's to choose not to perform CPR on strangers for fear of being sued by the "patient" or their family.
      The Good Samaritan Law was passed which immunized those who tried to save a person's life from civil lawsuits.
      Again, the issue regarding CPR in this case isnt that she is criminally liable for not performing CPR. It's merely a fact to show discrepancy between the defendant's claims and what the paramedic opined as being untrue.

When she gave the interview, she had on that ugly brown jacket. The ladies that interviewed her on the Utah morning show posted a updated video and said they had offered her clothes from the clothing closet for guests but she refused. I feel so very sorry for the 3 precious boys and his family members.💔💔. I’ve read that she grew up very poor and in a very dysfunctional family. Might explain her GREED. But many people grow up poor, become successful, or remain poor and never harm anyone. No excuse for what she did! No necessarily. With pain pill addiction, you're taking pills, which doesn't require any paraphernalia/tools such as pipes, straws, spoons, IV syringes, etc. And if purchasing the pills taken, you're not going to have the prescription bottles. There are many people who would be quick about transferring their pills from any bag to their secret stash which could be anything inconspicuous. They could even stash them in any old prescription bottles they had from previously being prescribed. This is just my opinion from my own experiences when the family was trying to find evidence of drug use when my uncle ended up in the hospital oding from pain pills. We had no idea he was using them, as pain killers don't really cause suspicious signs and behaviors like many other drugs do. And with my uncle and aunt being wealthy, he was able maintain his drug use without affecting his work and finances. At least at that point. He ended up addicted after having surgery and was being prescribed them for quite some time after. He hid the ones he bought in those old prescriptions and we wouldn't have known if my grandmother didn't take them out to count them and noticed the pills were different than the description on the bottle. This whole time, my aunt didn't think he could possibly be addicted because he hardly ever touched the pain pills always in the medicine cabinet. His addiction lasted only a year, and thank God he survived the od. He was able to go straight to rehab and easily recover without any relapse since. The family has been a lot more aware of the signs that aren't always present with every drug now.
