Informative video, thank you. Wild caught is usually healthier than farmed. Wild caught fish feeds on natural food. Farmed is fed "fish food." And may contain antibiotics. The smallest tuna species, Skipjack, has much lower levels of heavy metals. Wild caught salmon, or skipjack tuna, packed in water, no salt added is the healthier choice. I make salads or sandwiches for me. Once a week, my cats eat it straight out of the can. Happy Purrsday!
I just use one can of salmon, one egg some onion, salt and pepper to taste then I add some crushed saltine crackers . The more crackers you put in the bigger the patties. I never really measure. After you form your patties fry them in olive or avocado oil in a shallow pan on medium heat till golden brown.

What is the big difference between canned tuna and canned salmon? Hmm. Does one come in a can and the other not? No, no, that can't be it. Give me some time, Mashed, I can figure this out. I don't want to spoil the riddle by watching your deep, insightful video about how tuna is obviously not salmon before I solve the mystery on my own. What a joke.
@@josephgaviota okay. Why is it impractical? I never buy farmed fish. There's a fish market not far away that gets quite a bit of fresh fish about every other day. Oh, and I live in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains.
@@josephgaviota well I don't see where I said everyone lives close to a fish market but I bet there's some kind of a grocery store not terribly far away where you can purchase wild caught fish. Even Walmart has it for those that shop there.
What's your favorite use for canned fish?
I eat canned sardines for lunch frequently, when I need a high-protein, low-calorie lunch.

Im loving the new character! Canned tuna is often something i love to use in the house, for me in salads or sandwitches, or for the cats quite rarely
I consume so much canned fish I realized I should look into whether it's a bad thing or not
Great source of information. I love canned salmon.
Should have thrown sardines in there besides at the end. Or do a sardine vs other type of unique tinned foods
I was thinking _exactly_ the same thing!
Salmon tastes better.

My mom used to make that ... sadly she passed w/o giving me the recipe 😞
Tuna gives me odoriferous halitosis.
Try sardines.
whats the difference between canned tuna, salmon, and chicken of the sea?
Trouble is there's no safe levels of mercury

What a joke.
Don't be a jerk.
I prefer fish being fresh. It tastes better. I am a food critic so I know the difference.

Guaranteed not to turn pink in the can.
Dolphin tastes like chicken
How can Mahi mahi taste like chicken?
@@jladams61 mahi mahi is a fish, dolphins are mammals...
I just don’t eat it in either form. White fish is all I eat. Haddock, pollock or cod in rare cases
Great
You must live near the ocean
What to know before buying canned salmon or tuna?
DON'T ever buy canned salmon or tuna.
Always buy fresh, non-farmed fish.
Thank you very much for your very impractical suggestion.

Just wow.
