Shooting my Hakim rifle in 8mm Mauser built between 1950 and 1960. The rifle is one of the few true direct impingement actions and thanks to the well engineered muzzle brake, the rifle tames even the full power 7.92x57mm cartridge to the point that it even pushes the muzzle down after every shot. A very nice rifle to be behind but not beside!

The fact that it has an adjustable gas block is awesome

I have to clench my butt every time I load this rifle even with the safety on! That bolt flies forward really quick lol.

It is rare to see a muzzle break be so affective a rifle has to be pushed UP to be back on target as opposed to being pulled down back to target

Awesome videos man! Coincidentally i'm bringing out my Hakim to shoot for the first time tomorrow. I can't believe how hard it smacks the brass against the charging cover handle... I covered mine with some foam material while I search for a better solution. Also, for maximum Egyptian oper8er you can leave the second stripper clip in the rifle and pull back the charging handle, the bolt will fling the clip out of the action when it slams forward. At least that is how it works on the Ag42B...

You can adjust the gas impingement system to the round you're shooting. The brass should eject between 1 to 2 o'clock in front of you on the right hand side 15 to 20 feet. It's extremely consistent if the gas is adjusted properly.

Hey man, so you know, that's not the charging handle. The raised bits on the cover are what you are meant to be using to manipulate the bolt, that bar is actually a brass deflector more or less.

amazing rifle but very dangerous for people who make the mistake of having a finger in the chamber when the bolt slides forway. rip finger

You may have to adjust your gas system for weaker loads. Here is an image of the instructions I found online : imgur.com/a/uyG20ry

I agree with you and I love the Hakim rifle very much, but I think the switch to the AKM and the 7.62x39 cartridge was a logical choice. It would've been nice if the Egyptians took the Rasheed over the AKM, though.
