Lol. Even if Murakami was your fave, I wouldn't blame you. This week's chapter was a great meta commentary on final bosses that appear out of nowhere with little to no backstory
@AxelablazeProductions yeah it was not a bad chapter, short but sweet, makes me think gag manga might work better if they didn't need to have the 20 pages, hyped for the new series coming next week though!
My top 3 are Akane-banashi, Ichi the Witch, and Shinobi Undercover. So far a solid week for the magazine again. So I am working on my review for my forum, but here is my cliff note lighting round review (I won’t be mentioning Murakami cause I dropped that since chapter 2, and Me & Roboco. I know Crash will hate me, but it’s just how I feel. But at least let’s be glad that Roboco supremacy exists and it will get that movie in April next year)🎉. -HxH: More set pieces that also addresses on Hisoka, as well as the mafia wars. Very nice, but I feel like the next few chapters will lead to something that will cause massive chaos. -MYF: I thought it was alright. I’m kind of 50/50 on the twins. I do like them when they are good, but also it is just the final stretch for the final fight with Asa and that they are the key if it’s true. -UU: At first I thought it was rushing due to my forum members. But looking at it, it’s just chaos. I’ll see where it goes, but I hope it isn’t rushing. -SD: A really funny chapter and I’m glad we went back to Sakamoto, cause there was a withdrawal cause of our focus on Shin and Hisuke. But Torres was funny and glad to see Aoi and Hana. But that was a quick switch with Shin in his deception to being on fight mode to save Sakamoto’s family. -TES: A two year time skip was nice, but also with Mima sending letters to her father and saying perverse things about her relationship with Tokiyuki. Quite something when she dresses perversely when we saw her in the beginning. Also a fight with Sadamune, LETS GO!!! -BB: A sad moment with Kyo, but also there is hope if they come clean. Along with Hina’s relationship needing to be addressed. And knowing there is 6 months left until graduation, that means we have probably 44-45 more chapters left. -Akane: More greatness with this flashback arc. But people said that this man is like Shanks from One Piece. Heck even the laugh is close to One Piece’s laughs. But Issho is getting a more proper backstory that really tells me a lot about his character. But Urara is now making me ask her actually age which I think she is in her 70’s or 80’s. -KB: I had a serious rant about DVD’s and streaming on my forum on this chapter. But this was funny as I can relate. But I don’t go that far with the merchandise. I’m going to check PreCure out of my curiosity. But I have to get through Super Sentai, which I wish Shout Factory will bring back some of the earlier and later stuff outside of what they are showing from Jet Man to Hurricaneger. But I also liked the parody of Pulp Fiction so that works. -NE: A better chapter, but also has a lot going with this fight with Shiroha. But my constant complaint how Kawae draws is teeth. But the one thing I am glad they are working on is their male designs as the females have no complaints from me but I want the men to stand next to the girls and have some audience with that as well. -Kagurabachi: A lot of care with these ninjas that protect our sword bearers. But that last spread was so good. As well as that strategy worked. Well played Hokazono. -Chojo: This is a comedic version of Resident Evil 2. But also I really liked the humor but there is this joke from one of my forum members that thinks they have been written out of the story. -AR: The only complaint is that this fight should have been longer (just as much as the last one should have been as well). But knowing what this chapter brought that also could have been better is the fact that it was a battle of loyalists to their leaders. But what makes Suo’s more compelling when it was pointed from someone on Twitter (which was posted on the forum), was the sign that her step dad, actually went inside her as he was adjusting his pants in that one panel. As much as that is dark and compelling. A part of me feels like Wakui is forcing an emotion and ideas to make up for how he started the story which wasn’t what people wanted. I just wished the fight was another chapter to help give more weight and not be as anticlimactic. -Kiyoshi: Before I comment, both Kiyoshi and Hima are at risk yes, but another thing that I found out is that they are suffering from the backlog of Blue Box and Dandandan due to their anime adaptations. Now with that said, Kiyoshi was fun. And also I enjoyed the Kite reference. But bringing in the endgame villain is a big risk cause we already dealt with 3 and there are 10 left. -Hima: A reveal that makes sense, but also a concern is that the series is playing it safe and that the girls aren’t doing enough. It was a thought on my end, but also was brought up by one of my forum members. But also, I really wished it was a love triangle than another harem. But I do like Kanna, but wonder if she will make moves cause it is being hinted. -ItW: At first it was negative on Japans side due to the humor and the unexpected decisions on how to make the shark fabulous. But I think this will change their minds. This was hilarious and completely subverted my expectations with how it ended. This is some comedic high fantasy version of Monster Hunter that will get some fans. -Shinobi Undercover: A good fandom for both this and Ichi, so I think there is a chance. But with the color page, yeah, it is a bit mundane. But I think it is very coi trying to draw people in on Aoi and Hibari. But in all honesty, even if it is minimalist, it is better than Candy Flurry’s chapter 2 color page as it showcased nothing and played it really safe. Anyway good build for the villains and more mystery about these ninjas that are after Aoi. Not that much to complain. -HakuTaku: I really don’t get the hate for it. Sure it isn’t as good, but at the same time I think the hate is overrated. But if it gets a laugh out of me, that’s good. But let’s see how this park arc goes cause I worry that this might be a distraction. -Ruri: A great way to close it out before we go into the actual sports festival. And I think this is what we should do in reality than just having a prejudice over something we don’t understand. And those are my thoughts. Will get to a full review by tomorrow on my forum, but this was good. Thank you Axelablaze.
Thanks for the fantastic insights! Never noticed anything about the teeth in Nue before but now I'm definitely going to pay more attention. It just wasn't glaring to me like the occasional noodle arms early on. Or wonky hands and eyes in Centuria.
Top three is Kagurabachi (easily #1), Nue (great climatic fight for this training arc), and KB (very relatable protag) with honorable mentions for Kiyoshi (hedging its bets on being axed) & HxH (if I remembered more of the context would have been top 3). Not really sure how to comment for this video. Some of these series I don't read and others I don't have much to say. Like Akane, Yozakura, and UU were good but it's just a continuation of the current conflict/backstory. The axe bait series continue to be axe bait and the gags were funny. I think the only real disagreement (minus me being a fan of the twins) is I feel Suo from Astro Royale is alive still. Terasu's last words seem to suggest she'll live for herself? looking forward to this series. maybe I'll figure out how to comment on it by next time
We can work on things together. Lol. I realize a lot of what I said was summarizing rather than reviewing, so I want to strike a good balance. Part of my problem was waiting until 11pm last night to record though, so better time management should help. And you may be right on Suo, but Wakui has shown that he could kill again if he wanted to. Time will tell, but wow do these artificial Astros take their toll
My top 3 this week was Kagurabachi, Astro Royale and Ichi The Witch. Worst this week was easily Hakutaku for me. We did not need a “Music Killed My Grandma” moment, also the old woman seemingly had no power of the park, so why leave?
This is much needed since the dissolving of shonen n’ chill. Love to see some guests on here too
All depends on reception. I need to do some kind of rebranding or changing up the thumbnails to get more people to watch these reviews
Oh, this is a wonderful idea, thank you
Thanks for the next episode gamers
I appreciate you using the term “mollywop” haven’t heard that in awhile!
Undead Unluck
Ichi
Kagurabachi
All have my slots this week
Chug chug chug 🥛🥛🥛
1. Akane-Banashi, 2. Blue Box, 3. Hunter x Hunter for me this week
Mine would be 1. The Elusive Samurai, 2. Blue Box, 3. Ultimate Exorcist Kyoshi this week
Nice video
For me it would be
1 Yokai Buster- nah I'm trollin (RIP YBM)
1 Akane
2 Shinobi
3 Kill Blue

Same here! I enjoyed We Never Learn, so I'm curious to see what a detective series from the same mangaka will look like.

The old lady suuuuucked. I get that she's a plot device at this point, but she didn't make the chapter any better
