I wish people understand what goes into a players stat. When you watch film by film, the field looks completely different. Daniel Jones is not better because his "completion" percentage is higher...that makes him comparable to Lamar Jackson (64.5% vs 64.3%) who was known for fumbling and a lot of incomplete passes yet Lamar has the better winning record, double the TDs, and playoff appearances. Also that means he's better than Josh Allen (63.2%)...which we know isn't true based on the TDs and winning. With the change in coaching, you instantly saw Jones resurgence adding almost another 1k yards and 500 more rushing in 2022, sadly he got hurt this year and was already sacked 30 times in 6 games...the sacks, dropped passes, play calling, and coaches DO matter. Justin averages 18 total TDs a season versus Daniel's 15...I could easily say he is the more effective scorer but to be fair let's do it by games played. Justin has 54 total TDs (3 seasons) in 40 games played to Daniel's 75 TDs (5 Seasons) in 60 games played. This amounts to Justin averaging 1.35 TDs per game to Daniel's 1.25 so does completion % or yds really mean better QB? Lamar and Justin are effective runners and it needs to be adapted to which is on the coaches, that's why Lamar only has two 3k+ pass yd seasons. Just note Brian Daboll helped Josh Allen during his second year of working with him as Josh was terrible with 52.8% and 58.8% completion seasons prior. He also needed more receivers so they got Stefon...2020 they put up 4786 yards REC (year 3 was Josh Allen's growth after 2 bad years). Stefon and Cole Beasley alone almost had more REC Yards (2502 vs 2598) than the ENTIRE Bears team...think about that. Immediately you get DJ who boosts the offense like Stefon did with a 1500 YD season (Cole Kmet led prior year at 544 yards..) and now you need a solid 2nd WR and better o-line...now if we are looking at stats...neither Drake Maye (same as Trubisky...same school) nor Caleb are better than Bo Nix or Jayden Daniels...they are just hyped up more. If these guys are not sacked and protected more, they can be much better...and if they don't improve with that, then we can say they suck. While I am a Bears fan, I am a fan of the sport and like watching players develop (Brock Purdy is a prime example of good coaching and weapons set) and history will tell you a good chunk of 1st rounders are always overhyped. I doubt the Bears will stand for this hype because they are looking at the numbers but I can't predict what they will do because I don't know the pressure they are facing from their owners...can't be much with how long Pace was here.
