[ai upscale] Nintendo GameCube Preview DVD (2002)

I used to watch this dvd on so many road trips. My portable dvd player scratched up this dvd but thankfully it still works great and it dumped just fine!

I remember playing this so many many many many times, and it literally drove my mom and my brother crazy,
I guess I got into it way too much when I was a little kid
We found it in a GameCube magazine, and we watched it on my grandma's DVD player.

I THINK I may have gotten mine from a GameStop. I have two of them. Not on purpose. I had grabbed one then another worker gave me another one (two separate occasions I believe). GS back then used to have all sorts of cool stuff they’d give away. I even have a GBA official Nintendo cap I won in a drawing. Unfortunately top prize was an actual gba (which I already had but wouldn’t been cool today for modding which is something I won’t do to my original)

This disc was a counter freebie from game stores at the time. GameStop and EB games

Yeah, that sounds about right- I remember getting this exact DVD from an EB Games at the mall near where I lived in 2002 or 2003- had it for years after and re-watched it a few times as a kid (even though we got a Gamecube for christmas in....2003, iirc [with Metroid Prime and a couple other games]) and the stuff from this DVD- especially the Metroid section- was burned into memory lol
I don't remember any demo discs or similar pack-in discs/DVDs with Nintendo Power or other Nintendo-based magazines though .-. that was more a thing with PS/PS2 Underground or whichever Playstation magazine (depending on country) and PC magazines (iirc PCWorld often included a demo disc? Or maybe it was another PC-based magazine)

Wow how cool! I have 2 of these mini dvds. They were the mini dvds right? It’s funny I still remember the IGN article reading how they were for Nintendo products but it was most likely to be played on a ps2 (since ps2s were the main dvd players back then)

Mine's a full size DVD, I wish RUclips didn't take away my ability to post links, but if you google "Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Preview DVD 2002", you'll see a picture of a black dvd.
I used to watch mine all the time on my portable DVD player lol

@@robbyjvc oh wow it is a large dvd. The picture with Samus in front is the exact same one I have. Shoot I guess it wasn’t mini dvd I’ll have to check mine. I know I still have it somewhere in one of these boxes of games. I have two for sure. One is in a card board box (that one is the one I’m thinking is a mini dvd) and the other is in a normal dvd case (it’s shown in one of the pics with samus in front of the GameCube). I do know I have a mini dvd version ….oh dude I just realized it’s a different mini dvd as I typed this (it’s the cardboard box one). I have a mini dvd from Nintendo now I’ll have to go find it. Getting nostalgic. 😁 thanks a lot of posting this!! I really appreciate it. Got my mind going. Loooooove the GameCube and gba. I have my GameCube and ps2 both hooked up via hdmi, (currently playing my ps2 using the hdd).

I dunno if there were multiple versions of this, but the one I had (was a free promo disc from EB Games) was a full-sized DVD with a black background and text- the Nintendo logo at the top, and some text below that in red with a Metroid Prime-looking font to it (saying something like "Gamecube Promo Disc - Not for Resale" [because it was a free promo thing]
*Edit- found a pic of the actual disc, it said:
"Nintendo Gamecube Preview DVD
Playable on DVD Player or PC with DVD Drive"
and the usual "DVD" logo and an ESRB thing around the middle, with some legal text below a GBA logo at the bottom....
_though there apparently was a different version/a mini-disc variant of it too?_ (looks like had a white background with an indigo GC, a QuickTime logo and "PREVIEW CD-ROM" and "PC Demo Disk" on it- though it's only usable in PC disc drives, not the gamecube...for some reason)
