I have seen every military drill team, honor guard drill team, high school drill team and many others. They all practice very long, arduous hours to become the best that they can be and it shows in their performance. They are sharp, precise, focused and perform in an extraordinary manner. They still aren't as precise as the Marine Drill team , the air force seems to be trying to do to much instead of mastering the basics of drilling and marching.

While I agree the crowd sucked swamp water, I gotta tell you that the U. S. Navy drill team has got it over the USAF here. (And I say that as a former officer in the United States Air Fives.) Also, the USN did it without the hysterical Captain yelling at the audience to wake up and applaud.
Yes. For a couple reasons. One: they never change their routine. Two: other than their line sequence (which is bad ass) their drill is boring. Watch their whole routine and the only cool part is the line. The AF has amazing drill start to finish. The only reason people know about the Marine Silent Drill Team is marketing. They marketed the hell out of them for a long time.
To be fair, the United States Air Force Drill Team uses the heaviest rifle out of all the other branches. They utilize the demilitarized M1 Garands with the sling and tipped with a bayonet, which altogether weights around 10 3/4 pounds.

The Drill Team is fine and represents the Air Force well. CUT THE CAPTAIN AND THE CHEAP CHEERLEADING. He sounds like he should be at a boxing match. If the Team is good enough, and they are, the crowd will react in a positive manner. That is a good measure of the presentation. The crowd reacting to a cheerleader tells you little about how the audience liked the Drill Team. A concerned USAF veteran.

@Big Dee I was on team 2k2 and we fired blanks at the end of a performance until part way through the year when they demilled the M1 Garrands we used.
They don’t “perform harder” when people cheer. The movements in all the routines are exact regardless.
