  • LIVE COVERAGE: Johnny Depp v Amber Heard Defamation Trial
    Happening in court:
    Day 5
Sean Bett - Private Security For Johnny Depp
Keenan Wyatt - Friend of Johnny Depp
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. There is a possibility of celebrity witnesses testifying, including James Franco and Elon Musk. Tune in to the Law&Crime Network for daily coverage of this high-profile trial.

If Disney did not hire Depp for Pirates 6, then the prosecution has yet to present a witness from Disney to confirm this. The prosecution has yet to present witnesses that corroborate Depp's claims he lost movie roles. The prosecution has the burden of proof.

After watching the entire trial and all the testimonies, I do think both of them are guilty of treating each other profoundly horrible and dysfunctional. It appears she tried to have a typical quitable relationship with a diva of a man who disregards those long term relationships when he doesn't get what he wants. Even before The Sun declared him a "wife-beater" and all the way back to 21 Jump Street, I don't see what all the fan-fare about JD is. He's a good actor. I'll give him that. Maybe his testimony was the act of his lifetime. Not convinced of the verdict since his name was never defamed but as a result of the trial, he's been elevated and venerated from day one. Bring on the appeal. Maybe the judge will allow more evidence that was not allowed.

Elaine was horrible with him! She kept asking him things that she wasn't supposed to. But she did that deliberately, knowing that even if the judge granted an objection, she put doubt in their minds and tried to make them question his witnesses' testimony. Ultimately, I think Amber lost her case for herself, because she wasn't believable in any way. I think the jury saw through her lies. I'm so glad they did, but she continues to defame him, and has spent a lot getting bots to spread her supporters' lies. I think there are many more of his supporters of his than hers. I doubt her career will go very far after this. I'm irritated that L'Oreal still has her listed as a representative on their website. I won't be buying any of their products.

If you look closely at a still shot of her in court today, you can see that she carefully placed muddy brown eyeshadow on her eyelids and under her bottom lashline without using concealer under her eyes to make her eyes look tired and puffy. She also purposely used a really dark contour/bronzer that is very clearly too dark for her very fair complexion to make herself look as haggered and upset as possible. Look at past pictures of Amber, she never uses these kinds of makeup muddy, dark makeup colours on herself. As soon as he begun to describe the boots incident i instantly thought “she’s a narcissist.” Every experience i’ve had myself with a narcissist, Johnny was listing off in chronological order. She is a vile narcissist and it’s as simple as that

Not only that, she is a dominating and vicious control freak. She wants perfect and ultimate control over him. She's a monster. You can tell she tried the same with Elon but he got away early as they were not married. She's going down this time, possibly for the first time in her life, and it will shock her.

Yes, he said it “was too good to be true at the beginning, I couldn’t believe it”, so that was love bombing faze, very characteristic for narcissist.

I just started listening to JD’s testimony and my eyes are tearing up already! 🥺 Unfortunately, in Amber, he married a woman just like his mom.

Elaine is so incompetent 🤣. She was trying to suggest the sound tech was beholden to JD because he was named in the contracts… when what she *really* did was prove that JD is a good person.

I was thinking that. Was sweet of JD to make sure his friend was employed. Mr Wyatt seemed genuinely surprised by the inclusion.

when the bodyguard was asked by the clown if he considered violent throwing a bottle/can and he answered with "well, it's considered assault if you throw something at someone even if you don't hit them" I GASPPP . the hatred I feel for rottenborn is enormous

that rottenborn in general even, the way he talks is a bit belittling, I don't know if it's just me, but I always feel like he's just kind of fake laughing with the "take your time"s and just his whole demeanor comes across so belittling or something

Everything he said about opioid addiction is so true. I was prescribed them for a chronic health issue which was causing me depression. I found the pills were a way to escape my mental pain more than my physical pain, and ended up using them as a maladaptive coping mechanism. I’m off them now, but every single person I’ve met who has had a substance use disorder ended up that way because they were trying to suppress trauma or self medicate their mental health issues. It’s a myth that people get addicted to substances just to get high or to live a party lifestyle. A huge percentage are trying to turn off their painful thoughts. Johnny articulated it very well.

      Yep 👍. Well said!
Recovering addict here off of pain pills & adderall of 13 years or so, give or take. Been off thrm since 2010. F that stuff. I had a lot of pain & trauma I was trying to numb. I didn’t use them to “party”.. never been much of a party person. I used them to cope & do what I had to do to make it in society (like college & working to pay bills). Everything was so overwhelming to accomplish with all the pain from my childhood & adolescence. (Not that my childhood was that bad, but it wasn’t that great either. & an angry verbally abusive father in a small house can be devastating when you’re extremely sensitive.)
(& I’m not sure if your name is “emily” too, but if it starts with an “e” peeps who’s first vowel is “e” tend to feel more than most. We are very empathetic, & we like sensual stuff. Each 1st vowel in a person’s known name means something different. I need to find that book. It’s pretty cool.)
