Great episode. I live in the UK (born and bred) with Indian heritage and take a lot of interest in what is happening in India and have a lot of love for the place. Channels like yours and Major Gaurav Arya's are great. For sure in the UK/US they are very good at self-promoting their armed forces to the point they always claim to be the best. Channels like yours with these amazing guests will do wonders to show that Indian soldiers are a match for anyone as we all already know. Good job!

Never forget at its height the IPKF had a 100 000 strong soldiers all from North Indian states like Punjab, UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gorkhas, Sikhs, Marathas (South Indian companies like the Madras regiment were forced by Sri Lankan government to go back to India as they did not want South Indians who might speak tamil speaking with Sri Lankan Tamils) stationed in Northern Sri Lanka. These 100 000 soldiers consistently lost and were beaten back and humiliated by less than 10 000 strong sri lankan tamil rebel groups. it was an international shame for India's military at the time, foreign press reported it as India's Vietnam despite have over 10x the soldiers +huge supply lines running from India and from Sri lankan government in south the IPKF did nothing but attack and harass Sri lankan tamil civilians which lead to rebel groups kicking them out of areas. This failure and humiliation to IPKF lead to huge reform in India's military resulting in the much stronger and competent and respected force we have today. Jai Hind! and big respect to Sri Lankan Tamils for not only fighting Indian forces but also larger Sri Lankan military forces for many years all alone.

I loved this Podcast. My Mother was only a Lieutenant when she was posted in Pathankot during the 90s when it used to be a hot bed of terrorism. It was her very 1st posting. I am always amused by how casually she sometimes brings up the things she has seen while she was there. Its terrifying. I hear from her too about Pathankot being much more safe, just like J&K now. The Indian armed forces has systematically reduced militancy. So proud to say that I am a daughter of an Army officer, and that too a lady officer from way back in the day.

Handpick people from each Arm, service, regiment and get their perspective. Especially the Motivated ones. It will broaden the perspective of people listening. Thank you. You are doing a great service to our forces. Jai Hind.

LTTE was acknowledged as world's most created guerilla army. They were defeated by 17 national army and its Governments including North Indian Government. Actually Tamils were betrayed by north Indian politicians. Even today our government betrays Tamil of Lanka. Genocide of 100,000 killed.

Man it seems like ,army especially special forces is a whole lot of different world ,it's different zone different from the obvious real world were you look at problems and situations from life and death perspectives , its surely can be categorized as life apart from what you usually do for a living ,the so-called the happy family life .The standards are different ,in a more concise way you breathe differently , you are out and out of your comfort zone for most part of your living .
You don't drain your energy in petty politics and do the job what is required and that in turns creates solid memory of what you have done in your life , obviously it has its own enlisted cons to it , but its subjective and personal at the same time .
Man it must be a feeling to look back and see that you have served in the jungles of Sri lanka , took out enemies ,did what ordinary peeps could only think of ,it truly a feeling of proud with no regrets whatsoever .
Thank you Ranveer bhaiya , i came in as highly enthusiastic seeking every millitary episodes of yours and now after 1 hour and quarter writing this bullshit to got a new perspectives to life .

I was a little boy when the IPKF came to my hometown of Valvettithurai (birth place of Prabaharan) and would hand us food. We thought of them as heroes who had come to end the war. Then when they betrayed and attempt to hand over Kumarppa,Pulanderan and the 10 commanders of the LTTE to the Sinhalese army (they all suicided using cyanide) we knew the IPKF was going to be pulverized. None of that matters, at the end we lost it all, and the last time I visited the North was 40 years behind in comparison the south. My people have a lot of catching up to do. We will persevere none the less. Om Nama Sivaya.

Yes it's right. But j&k police, bsf, itbp, crpf, all are there but for support/reserves and to maintain peace . Task is excecuted by military only RR and SF battalions

@@anjneykumarsingh4461 No, in early 90's in the peak of terrorism it was BSF in the forefront and Army came in 1993 in form of RR. Army remained only in Rural areas of valley. JKP was nowhere and CRP was placed in Punjab to support Punjab Police. It's only after 10 years JKP has started evolving after creation of SOG in 1998.

      Ye hui na kuch baat❤️
Ranveer k interviews me jyada maza aata hai cause ranveer asks sensible questions to all these para sf veterans.
Others dont do justice while asking them all these questions.
