    namaste dheeraj ji! i was planning to go to delhi-srinagar-leh-nubra-pangong-hanle-manali-delhi from 21st september. i was confused if i should go on altis or polo. can you please tell me which car is better. both of the cars will have 2 passengers only and no luggage as it will be in our other car(endeavour and thar). which car is better to take? Also altis is more comfortable for me to drive. pl consider that too if possible as i am in favour of altis and you are saying that roads are very challenging so i had this query. both cars are automatic. if possible to tell why? Nd your comment will be the final decision and i am confused. 😊And btw i planned the trip by watching just your videos! big fan sir!😊

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  13 дней назад

      Karan bhai, I will prefer polo here because it will not have a boot. The sedans are usually the worst candidates in mountain with their boots hanging behind.. i am telling you from experience of driving Dzire old one, Santros and Swifts.. that too in old days of 2009-2010.. the hatchbacks are always better somehow than sedan. Since you are only two with no luggage the polo has a Peppy engine, you will better be with it.
      The road between Nubra to Pangong and Pang to Sarchu is where it will be most challenging. Please check Leh Ladakh Trip in Small Car - Hatchback / Sedan / SUV | 7 Essential Tips for a Self-Drive Trip ruclips.net/video/MQuxokY-m8M/видео.html

      @@discoverwithdheeraj dheeraj ji just to be sure, the corolla will not have any luggage, then also it cannot go? i have the newest gen of corolla altis. i’m asking this because i’m going in september end and the road conditions will not be fine by then? dheeraj ji, sorry to disturb you but i’m just asking this because corolla feels way more comfortable for long trips. i hope you understand. i will be going from delhi-srinagar-leh-nubra-pangong-hanle-umlingla-tso moriri-manali-delhi. i saw your video but this was my query as the video is 1 year old and haven’t the roads improved since then?

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  11 дней назад

      @karanrajm19 bhai roads don’t improve considerably on fast pace in fact if you check my monthly update videos yoo willl know that road between pangong and nubra is broken, pang and sarchu is broken.. i am just saying in comparison bhai when asked.. but since corolla will be more comfortable and like you are saying boot will not hold anything you should be OK with it.. so you can take it just be careful in climbs on broken roads where the boot tends to bang when going through pot hole.. drive slow in those sections and plus September road conditions will certainly help too

      Road between Pang to sarchu is quite broken so drive cautiously there and Nubra to Pangong road is also mostly broken so you need to either avoid it and take Changla Pass road otherwise do it very carefully.

      Camps could be wrapped up by then as cold sets in the trans-Himalayas by end of september. Some campsites though are there till OCtober middle but not 100% sure if they packup early or not.. early snowfall can result in packing up. It is possible to do this trip but please make sure weather is clear when leaving Jispa for next couple of days because getting stuck behind Shinkula with snowfall can be really bad.

      Unless it snows during the days of your travel days, roads should be open. When traveling on Manali Leh Highway just make sure that you leave on a clear day and weather should not be bad because you want to avoid getting stuck for couple of days in between. Avoid Sarchu overnight stay as overnight snowfall at Baralacha La will get you stranded so extend to Jispa.

      Padum to Leh via Lingshed is open but not the usual way.. at from Padum after reaching Lingshed junction you will have to continue to Nerak Junction then as described in video, you can climb up towards Chochogori La pass, Kong La pass, Yulchung Village and then meet the old route to further move to Singey La and Sirsir la to follow the old route.

      There are two routes, one made and thrown open in last two years that is where Lingshed U-Turn is when traveling from Manali/Padum to Leh.. there was another road in construction going straight from that U-Turn which passes through Nerak - Chilling - Nimmu. This route is not yet opened officially as of 2024 and this video covers the details of this new route.
      So, there are three routes now to go from Manali/Padum to Leh

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  12 дней назад

      Well, I will surely make a detailed travel guide of this route in my format.. there is only a 20 km section that is not covered in this video which is from Nerak Junction to Lingshed Junction, the road conditions in this section of 20 km are dirt track over there as of 2 days before.. not as bad as what is between Chiling to Nerak but dirt track type of sections with broken roads in between...
      Now from Lingshed Junction to Zangla to Padum, I have covered in my travel guide of Lingshed - Singela - Sirsirla route. Lingshed Junction to Zangla road is also not tarred and broken at few places but again flat dirt track. Finally from Zangla to Padum is all tarred good road.
      this more like interview is to understand from Ken bhai about the route he did which was mainly he covered as the circuit.
      I hope above comment makes it clear, do watch my other episode of Travel Guide for PAdum to LEh via Lingshed Singey La Sirsir La route too.
      So, there are three routes now to go from Manali/Padum to Leh
      1. Manali - Darcha - Padum - Lingshed Junction - take left U-turn to climb to Murgumla Top near Lingshed Village - Wanla Junction - Singey La Pass - Sirsir La Pass - Wanla Village - Khaltse - Nimmu (Sangam) - Leh [Old Route 2022-2023]

      3. Manali - Darcha - Padum - Lingshed Junction - then on right side, continue to Nerak Junction - Chilling - Nimmu (Sangam) - Leh [New Route 2024-2025, not yet officially open]
