Great video Dheeraj ji. Have been a subscriber of yours from a long time. Was planning to visit Ladakh from Delhi on 23rd June. Wanted to know if there can be any problems on the way through Manali and Keylong as the weather prediction for the next few days shows thunderstorms and thundershowers. Will be traveling in a Skoda Kushaq 1.5, so could it be a limiting factor in those conditions? Also do you suspect there will be a closure of Atal tunnel during this period? Also would be great to know about the police checking situation in Darcha is right now (if they let people through without any delays or not). Thanks!
Hello Sir.. first off all a huge appreciation for all the informative videos that you put up. Big respect for it. Had a query regarding my upcoming trip next week. We would be flying from Delhi, so how would be the acclimatization if we stay first 2 nights at Leh, then move towards Nubra and stay there for another 2 night and then ascend to Pangong and stay for a night and move back to Leh next day. Thank you. Some inputs would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot, your plan looks good to me and balanced when planning trip by air. You can also watch my video on Acclimatization Tips herE: ruclips.net/video/8XijLqr6O0Y/видео.html
Thank you so much, Sir !! It was a wonderful trip, although missed out on Pangong due to bad weather. Perhaps, it was meant to be for the next time, hopefully. The list you provided regarding various cab drivers helped a lot too !! Thank you again !!
Lovely and informative videos! Please advise: We are going on a 10 day trip in late August. Would u recommend going to Puga and Tsokar on the way from Tsomoriri to Leh if we are traveling by Innova. Are the roads good and is it worth traveling to these places after all that travel? So much conflicting information we have heard on that! We are going on a 10 day trip to Leh, Nubra (Diskit, Hunder, Turtuk, Siachen base camp), Pangong, Hanle, and Tsomoriri in late August. Also, first day, we will acclimatize in Ule; is that fine? Thanks in advance!!
Hi Komal, you can travel that route just to see Taglangla - tso Kar side.. I won't call that super amazing after all that you have already seen, especially after Hanle region.. But anyways it adds about an hr extra time only to the journey so you may take it or skip it in case you want to reach Leh faster.. Chumathang route as well as Tso Kar route have its own beauty but if I have to compare then I will prefer Tso Kar route as it does offer a remoteness element plus Taglang La pass.. The negative part is bad road and longer drive...
@@discoverwithdheeraj Thanks for the prompt and useful reply. I really appreciate it. I have one more question. Do you think Tsomoriri is worth it in a 10-day trip or should I do a buffer day in Leh instead, if I have done Pangong also, in a 10-day trip? We do not have a buffer day in our itinerary, but we are travelling by flight and not by road to Leh. Have heard so many conflicting opinions on Tsomoriri and Leh buffer day that I'm not sure which option to take. Would really appreciate your valuable opinion on this. Thanks so much! @DevilOnWheelsBlog
Hello bro finally again attempting foe leh, going on 28th June, has got ecology fee done. Kindly tell do I need any more permits or permissions for personal car also???
Choose Airtel Postpaid, Jio Internet is better but Airtel is not that behind.. in next few years it seems Jio will have more coverage.. having said that for most major places you wont go wrong with either… so if you already have any one of them then take whatever you have
Do we need to acclimatise in leh if we go by srinagar leh highway and took stop at srinagar, kargil and then reached leh. Or can we left for nubra the next day when reached leh
Thank You so much Dheeraj bhai for all this info... Your vlogs are extremely informative.. I was planning a workation from Leh and following was 1 of the 2 schedules: August 13-30: 9 days to travel, 9 work OR September 7-30: 10 days to travel, remaining working Earlier i was planning in august, but after viewing your vlog on the best time to visit - September having clear skies.. is end of September very cold and khardungla sometimes is closed ? I called up a couple of hotels/hostels and they said cost difference is not much.. so you can plan anytime as per your interest or convenience
Komal, Ladakh is a rain-shadow region and if you are directly flying to Leh it is generally OK to plan a trip to Ladakh in July. Monsoon is mostly in the lower hills. You should watch my video of Ladakh in Rains: ruclips.net/video/TQjBw5pCGx8/видео.html
Hello Dheeraj Sir, We are planning Ladakh trip by Innova in July 2023. Below will be our itinerary. I am more concerned about day 4 because of AMS. Please guide. Day 1 - Srinagar Day 2 - Kargil Day 3 - Leh Day 4 - Hundar Day 5 - Pangong TSO Day 6 - Hanle Day 7 - TSO Moriri Day 8 - Leh
I will highly recommend that you add a day of rest in Leh in Day 4. Without doing so, you may be OK, you may not be OK, no one can ascertain. But doing so will surely decrease the chances of AMS.
Hi Dheeraj! Could you please tell me that is there any restriction for a person above 60 years of age travelling to Leh Ladakh by his own car? Say, if I want to take my father(61 yrs age) with me straight from West Bengal to Ladakh by road, will be there any issue related to permit and all while entering Leh from the Military pov?

Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following: 1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time 2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day 3. Red Cross Fee = Rs 50 one time but Optional, you don’t need to pay if you don’t want to. DO NOT confuse environment fee receipt with permit. You just need to carry this fee receipt, hard copy or soft copy. This receipt will be checked at various checkposts. Hence, people are confusing it with permit but this is just verification that you have paid the fees.
Hello Dheeraj, can rented Motorcycles from Delhi be used to travel to Leh and other places in Ladakh? Will the local bike rental organizations in Leh, Ladakh cause any nuisances?
As per taxi/bike union rule the private car or bike should be under your name or parents name or someone whom you can prove relation with. Checking of private cars/bikes, especially in a small group, are pretty rare these days and this suggestion is a precautionary mesaure only. When you take a friend’s bike/car or some else's bike/car (not your immediate family/same surname), then you should carry a NOC document from them stating that the bike/car is for private use only, he is the owner of the bike/car with RC number, and he authorizes you with your DL number to ride/drive the bike/car personally for this Leh Ladakh trip. There is no guarantee but this NOC document will be helpful in case someone stops you and objects the case of RC not being under your name. Solving the matter amicably is highly recommended unless you want to go into the struggle and spoil the rest of the vacation and money for the trip. Sample NOC document link: shorturl.at/iAUW3

Hi How about the weather in ladhak, nubra now a days. I am travelling around 24th June. Should we pack all winter clothes. Or summer clothes also? Please suggest
Carry layers of light woollens at the very least.. Don't rely completely on summer clothes. Though weather has started getting warmer, but one overcast day or elongated stay at Passes and lakes will have cold mornings/evenings.. So, you should carry clothes that you can wear in layers including a jacket for emergency.

A few days back I was reading your blogs, liked the one about gangotri and harshil very much , Any suggestions for me where to stay in harshil in March, a good homestay with decent rates is what I required
Arup bhai, I have always stayed in GMVNs mostly in Harsil and Kumaon region.. they are decent, good views/locations and reasonable prices expecially with off season discounts.

Hi Dheeraj The vdo was good, completely agree to all the points. 1 question- Is it now mandatory or only recomendatory to stay in Leh for 2 nights, even if I am driving from Manali, staying in Keylong. Have been to Ladakh twice earlier Thanks
Bhai it is recommended to stay two nights to have a successful trip.. Administration has made it mandatory but for road travelers there isn’t a way to enforce it.. for air travelers they sometimes check the boarding pass when they check for receipts.. also blacked out dates in Environmental fee application since the day of arrival in Leh… Last year there was a rise in casualties in Ladakh due to AMS and high tourist rush… so this was put in place by administration. However, road travelers cannot be enforced if they enter wrong date of arrival… However even by traveling road, one evening you will reach Leh to stay overnight and then you MUST always relax in Leh for next day and stay overnight. Better safe than sorry..
Dheeraj bhai, can a obese/overweighht person (around 140 kgs) with no medical Illness plan to go to ladakh? I mean if he takes care of precautions related AMS and also don't even want travel to higher altitudes like Nubra, Pangong... just to stay in Leh and explore Leh after 2 days of acmilitization... Is it safe?
Bhai, I have not heard/read about such a corelation with obesity and high altitude. It is better consult with a doctor just to be on safe side. However, for AMS, just for Leh as well if you are flying directly, just keep body well hydrated, do not exert a lot and keep light activity and it shall be OK.

Hi Bhai,
Any suggestions on which network operator to choose ...?
JIO
AIRTEL
for Srinagar, leh, pangong and Nubra?
Choose Airtel Postpaid, Jio Internet is better but Airtel is not that behind.. in next few years it seems Jio will have more coverage.. having said that for most major places you wont go wrong with either… so if you already have any one of them then take whatever you have
Do we need to acclimatise in leh if we go by srinagar leh highway and took stop at srinagar, kargil and then reached leh. Or can we left for nubra the next day when reached leh
Always spend two nights in Leh..so yes you should stay in Leh next day after reaching Leh from Kargil or Jispa
Thank You so much Dheeraj bhai for all this info... Your vlogs are extremely informative..
I was planning a workation from Leh and following was 1 of the 2 schedules:
August 13-30: 9 days to travel, 9 work
OR
September 7-30: 10 days to travel, remaining working
Earlier i was planning in august, but after viewing your vlog on the best time to visit - September having clear skies.. is end of September very cold and khardungla sometimes is closed ?
I called up a couple of hotels/hostels and they said cost difference is not much.. so you can plan anytime as per your interest or convenience
Good review Sir

Hi, I wanted to know if it's safe to travel to Leh by flight in the end of July. Does it generally rain during July. Thanks for your help.
Hello Dheeraj Sir,
We are planning Ladakh trip by Innova in July 2023. Below will be our itinerary. I am more concerned about day 4 because of AMS. Please guide.
Day 1 - Srinagar
Day 2 - Kargil
Day 3 - Leh
Day 4 - Hundar
Day 5 - Pangong TSO
Day 6 - Hanle
Day 7 - TSO Moriri
Day 8 - Leh
I will highly recommend that you add a day of rest in Leh in Day 4. Without doing so, you may be OK, you may not be OK, no one can ascertain. But doing so will surely decrease the chances of AMS.

Hi Dheeraj! Could you please tell me that is there any restriction for a person above 60 years of age travelling to Leh Ladakh by his own car? Say, if I want to take my father(61 yrs age) with me straight from West Bengal to Ladakh by road, will be there any issue related to permit and all while entering Leh from the Military pov?
Sandip da, there is no such rule or restriction for senior citizens. But plz check my video on Leh Ladakh Trip with Old Age Parents / Pets / Asthma / High Blood Pressure [Spiti Valley - Zanskar]

Hi bro,, from Leh to Nubra n Pangong do we need any local permit ?
Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic
Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following:
1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time
2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day
Hello Dheeraj,
can rented Motorcycles from Delhi be used to travel to Leh and other places in Ladakh?

Hi
How about the weather in ladhak, nubra now a days.

I have planed Ladakh trip from upcoming 6th to 16th July.
I have 2 questions - how’s the latest climate conditions and considering it what all things I must carry/pack? Next question is, being veg person, are there considerable options throughout the trip except main township like Leh? Just for additional information, my trip route is from Delhi to Ladakh to shrinagar. Earliest response will be appreciated.

Hi Dheeraj
The vdo was good, completely agree to all the points.
1 question-
Is it now mandatory or only recomendatory to stay in Leh for 2 nights, even if I am driving from Manali, staying in Keylong.
Have been to Ladakh twice earlier
Thanks
Bhai it is recommended to stay two nights to have a successful trip.. Administration has made it mandatory but for road travelers there isn’t a way to enforce it.. for air travelers they sometimes check the boarding pass when they check for receipts.. also blacked out dates in Environmental fee application since the day of arrival in Leh… Last year there was a rise in casualties in Ladakh due to AMS and high tourist rush… so this was put in place by administration. However, road travelers cannot be enforced if they enter wrong date of arrival…
However even by traveling road, one evening you will reach Leh to stay overnight and then you MUST always relax in Leh for next day and stay overnight.

Bhai namaskar , do you plan Leh Ladakh travel.
I do not conduct or offer any tour services. I only offer travel information for FREE and help locals as well as travelers connect with each other directly so they benefit from each other in best possible way.
If you see a similar name company or same name company as of DevilOnWheels which is the original brand that I created, such similar names/same names offering tour services are all fake ones who have copied my brand name and conduct tours for commercial benefits. I have no relation with such fake companies.
Beware of such cheats. If you need tour packages help, I can connect you with some local based tour operators in all over Ladakh, Spiti, Zanskar, etc..
