hope MTL can win that game 6 close out this series, and then everybody can have a real big celebration afterwards would just be great to see GO HABS GO bring it home Thursday night at home GET R DONE
So proud of the habs regardless of what the outcome of this series ultimately becomes. Here's to hoping they can do what the Canucks were unable to do last year, slay the Vegas beast.
I never looked at us as a beast, I don't understand why people hate us but from the way people talk I guess I'm the only un-arrogant Vegas fan or something. I just want to go on record saying that I said the series was going to be close from the beginning, But if we lose we did this to ourselves and where not going to win a title with this core, To me, this is their last chance.
@@bjtgaming a lot of the hate towards Vegas is jealousy from other fan bases. I’ll admit I was happy to see their run to the final and seeing that group of basically outcasts do something unthinkable even if they didn’t win. Then they stopped being outcast and kept on bringing in big names and stars and I feel like that’s where a lot of the charm left and a lot of the hate started coming in. Also the fan base a lot of people don’t like the fan base. Also I just get the sense from watching Vegas they don’t play like a team. That 2018 team all played for each other and you can tell they had a legit bond. Now it feels like they just put the best roster out there and hope that they somehow find a way to work together. I don’t think this is their last year but hey you know your team way more than I do so I’ll trust your word on it 🤷
Not a Montreal Fan but you know what? They deserve all the credit they are getting and more, I just hope my Isles can come back tonight and take it to 7, I hope they were watching the Habs last night.
@@williamsullivan857 Couldn't agree more. You can tell by their interviews that they have really good chemistry. And I gotta say that Suzuki has impressed me so much. Such a smart player.
I said it before this series...the Habs will give Vegas trouble with their defense and style of play....they are so annoying to play against...one more game Montreal...keep it up.
Habs are everything the isles should be and need to be...they have the ability to switch from that tough veteran defense in petry, chiarot and weber to fast and aggressive offense in gallagher and caufield. All backed up by Price. Also im seeing what a leader Perry can be. Isles need that goal scoring ability and to show some more grit/heart. To me maybe a player or 2 shy of where they need to be.
Thx bud for the good word. I said it before too, dont expect to get easy goals against us. Most nhl fans only looked at mtl's trouble to get goals. We're like Floyd Mayweather, we shut out goals b4 we set up our own chances. We're tough !
I said this series was going six minimum from the start. Montreal has that powerful underdog excitement/energy behind them, and to add the momentum and confidence they've been able to find
I was a believer when Montreal came back from the 3-1 deficit against Toronto even though Toronto is known for choking. I was impressed when they swept the Jets and used Scheifele's cheap shot on Evans as extra motivation. Now Montreal is on the verge and the 3500 fans are going to be rocking Thursday night. If there is one player left in the playoffs that deserves a Stanley Cup more than anyone, it is Carey Price. This Montreal team has been the feel good story of these playoffs.
Don't forget Weber, with the career he had he deserves to raise the cup. When the guy plays good D 26-27 minutes each game, he's a beast blocking shots, solid defensive plays and a leader in the room the man mountain deserves it too
As a Vegas fan, very disappointed with tonight’s play. We were asleep most of the game, our fans didn’t help them and Fleury was off his game. I don’t blame Fleury at all, I think even putting Lehner in net wouldn’t of changed the end result. I don’t think we win 2 in a row against Price and don’t even get me started about our top 6. (hasn’t produced all series) If we lose game 6, Habs fans I really hope you bring it to the defending champions(if they win their series). I’m baffled that sports analysts said VGK in 4 when it’s obvious who’s hot right now. You’ll always have my respects. Best of luck. Sincerely, A sad golden knights fan
I'm a habs fan but I disagree with what you said about Fleury. The first goal was definitely the defenders fault, and the 3rd one was stones fault. The last one was on the empty net on a turnover, so only one goal wasn't Vegas's fault.
Fleury was on top of a lot of things, his team left him out to dry. Check out the Caulfield goal, Max Stone had every opportunity to get between Cole and Perry to stop that pass but he started slowing down. Vegas doing the Flower dirty
This series just proves how dominate the Habs are and people need to realize that and stop blaming the goaltending. Flower doesn't score goals. Sub 2GAA, his team is 0-16 on the pp. Captain doesn't have A POINT the entire series. Their fwds have 4 goals in 5 games. I swear people don't actually understand when it's the goalies fault. Poor fleury for unrealistic slander. Breakaway is saved then the D just watches the O player score. Next goal was 0 coverage in the slot. And another powerplay goal with a terrible lazy turn over by Stone, 2 on 2 but both D go for the puck and leave a wide open back door slam dunk. Even Panda wasn't allowed to let more then 1 goal or they would have lost game 4 as well. These shots are supposed to go in. The habs are legit, this isn't a goalie choking. Hoping Price brings lord Stanley home!
@@dominicdigiacobbe7410 I agree and I’m a VGK fan. Our top 6 is way too sleepy this series, I don’t think flower is to blame here. Hard to watch for me.

@@Yoshisboss07 To be fair, I would expect this out of a lot of arenas. I hate everything about Vegas, but I consider Sharks fans to be pretty great and I would not be surprised to hear Habs fans in the Shark Tank - Montreal fans are everywhere, and very passionate! But yeah, fuck Vegas haha
I’m honestly so happy for this team, I am not a Habs fan as I am a leafs fan but I am really proud of this team! I give them so much credit for the success they are having
Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield will be superstar in the futur ! They are too fast, intelligent and skilled at their age to not be ! It's very beautiful to see !! Bonus, Kotkaniemi is turning into a very nice center too !
agree entirely. now if Romanov can develop likewise, and the team acquires another defenceman who can give crushing checks fairly, a centreman who can win critical faceoffs, 2 more goal scorers, the Habs of old shall return. well, let's see what the future brings.
this little guy is too puny to stand up to the rigors of heavy hitting day to day nhl hockey. Eventually some one will line him up squash him like a bug. Enjoy him while you can -commenting for a friend
As a doubter of Montreal before this series and even after the first 2 games, I will absolutely say I was wrong. This Montreal team is doing the 2 things Colorado got killed by not doing, staying calm and cleanly breaking the puck out and staying steady defensively and not allowing vegas' inevitable heavy pressure to get in their heads. This a TEAM in every sense of the word and they have a hof goalie at the top of his game, that's a recipe that is looking so eerily similar to 93
It’s crazy what happens when you call two penalties right off the bat. We saw hockey for the first time in this series, not two teams trying to rip each other’s heads off for 60+ minutes, finally.
Don't worry, that feeling you have against Gallagher? We feel the exact same thing about Marchand. haha Those guys are assholes, but they're OUR assholes.
Difference between Gally and Marchand? Gally tows that line of being mischief, Marchand not only crosses that line but erases that line while crossing it. I am a Habs fan but in this respect I would never want Marchand on my team
old saying in sports, it`s not always the best team that wins, it`s the team that plays the best that wins, or will beats skill, MTL is playing for a North division that most people said was by far the weakest division and they are playing for the whole country of Canada which hasn`t had a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup since 1993 when MTL won, they are definitely carrying the torch
I'm running out of good things to say about this Montreal Canadiens team... I'm just beyond impressed. This isn't just some fluke... Five wins away from a Stanley Cup. They are the real deal.
@@xjaskix Leafs will crush them... Jets will crush them... Golden Knights will crush them... Keep doubting them and the Canadiens will be the 2021 Stanley Cup Champions.
Yeah, but I think they need to bring back Danault. He has been instrumental in this run, preventing just as many goals as the youngsters are scoring (if not more). He won't be cheap, but keeping him is a massive key to keeping the Habs' window open (second in importance only to CP30 seamlessly taking the reins from CP31).
"I... I... don't even know what happened to me the other night. Maybe I had a bit too much to drink, I can't say why exactly. But... but suddenly I was cheering for the Canadiens, and then kept cheering. And then realized it felt really good. And realized all those times I had been wearing those Maple Leaf jerseys all my life, I was just... just... just lying to myself. Lying to everyone."
This was almost a perfect game played by Montréal. Don't stop believin' song they kept playing in their dressing room in 93 suddenly started to resonate in my head...:)
I wish he had followed that up by saying that if MTL did win a game or even the series he would eat his own shorts on the air after wearing them all day long, I really do like Craig Button a lot actually but he can eat shit

As a flames fan I have severe ptsd from being so young in 86 when habs beat us....fine, revenge served in 89!.....sure unless they become that last Canadian team to win a cup. The flames had a certain player that considered the flames his slump breaker. Corey Perry in Anahiem cursed the flames. He becomes a free agent and Brad passes on him. He goes to Dallas. How can he hurt us there...hello corey, goodbye second round. He's available again, does treiliving get him for the minimum....nope, he in montreal how can he hurt us now....Canadian division.. Great which team best the flames out. Getting all that out....I like this habs team.
Montreal played their best hockey tonight There were times when a player could join in the forecheck, or chase a man..... Canadiens to a man ,they would peel off and play the hungry defensive game, and back up the lone forechecker...jumping in only when it was safe No where for Vegas to pass or skate to a fast break
@Carleton Rutherford I'm a Canucks fan too but the Habs have always been my 2nd team. Really been enjoying this run and can see them going all the way. With the Canucks it's continual disappointment unfortunately but I remain hopeful we'll win the cup one day.
winning Gold @ World Juniors. Winning NCAA Hockey Championship. Now winning in the NHL Playoffs. What a roller coaster ride for Caulfield !!!!!! Keep On Chooglin'
I remember watching the Habs beat the Blackhawks in Game 7 in the old Chicago rink in 1971! I was just a young kid at the time but was captivated when the Captain of Montreal was handed the Stanley Cup wearing their red jerseys as they did back then on the road! It was none other then (IMO) the greatest of the Canadian players Number 4 ... Jean Beliveau!!! It would be a fitting tribute to the late great Beliveau to win the Stanley Cup 50 years after he won it the last time as a player!
This is just really fun to watch. I'm a Habs fan for 35 years and for the last 8 years no expectations from them at all, so anything like this is really just a fun experience.
It is a damn shame the awful officiating has overshadowed how incredible this series has been. People are going to look back on this series and remember it as a classic, no matter how it ends up. This is the kind of series I want from the playoffs.
Best part about that was the fact that the exact same call was made on the Knights later in the game. Out of all the complaining that us fans were doing, all we ever wanted was consistency, and that's what we got. I'm very happy knowing that the same officials will be working game 6 in MTL.
I was waiting to see what Caufield would do before choosing whose number, between him and Suzuki, would go on my RR jersey. The two playing on the same line and having so much success isn't helping. This is going to cost me another jersey, isn't it ?
HAHAHA! If I had too much free time, I would go to every comment on youtube that confidently declared Montreal would lose in 4. Or those comments bashing our division saying it was ''so weak''. Yet, here we are, dominating Vegas and one game away from the final. What a way of shutting down those Vegas fans booing at their own team.

Incredible game montreal. I always get worried when Vegas is in Montreal's end it looks like they're going to come up with something but Montreal is so good at putting sticks on pucks.
Just looking at the styles of Price vs Fleury, if I didn't know anything about them, I'd think Price would be the one with 3 Cups. At times, Fleury reminds me of a less good Hasek. Price is just so calm and collected.
Fleury is real good but he won his 3 Stanley Cups all with Pittsburgh a much better team with Crosby, Malkin, Letang, J Staal Kessel, etc,,, and Matt Murray was in goal for 2 of those cup clinchers that Fleury won, Price has never had a quality team like that in front of him before or who knows maybe Carey Price has the 3 Stanley Cups instead of Fleury
Fleury looks like Hasek without the desperation. Hasek looks like he has a gun pointed to the back of his head when he’s trying to get back in position after a diving save to stop a rebound, fleury looks out to lunch. Exhibit A on the Kotkaniemi goal.
@@erect4e369 No goalie can be compared to Hasek! What he did in his career was pure goaltending art! No goalie coach could ever teach how Hasek played.

@@MrAlittleofeverythin No, love Point, but Vasi and Kuch are ahead in the Conn Smythe conversation for Tampa imo. 1. Vasilevskiy 2. Kucherov 3. Point 4. Stamkos/Hedman
It also is likely to not be super noticeable but Jake Allen actually does a lot for the Habs this playoffs. For one, having a solid backup gives Price pressure to always be playing at his best. Secondly, Allen is known to be able to mimic other goalie's styles to allow his team to practice for whoever they're playing. He was noted for doing this for doing this for St. Louis during their Cup run and it seems he's doing it again.
As a Blues fan nothing gave me more joy towards the end of the game when it came to crunch time when the announcer said " Pietrangelo with a shot high off the glass " We in St.Louis saw this for almost a decade over and over and over. Go Montreal !!
Even if Tampa repeats, which is something I think has the highest probability out of all the possible outcomes of the final 4... I'll accept Vegas Choking to Montreal as a small victory.

Bergevin said it in the off season when he acquired edmunston, anderson, perry and allen : we have a team to cause damage in the playoffs. He knew Chiarot Weber and Petry were good in a playoffs context, he knew Suzuki and KK were clutch players. The only ''lucky'' break the habs are having is Caufield stepping up for Drouin. The damages are Toronto and Winnipeg so far, maybe Vegas tomorrow ? And who knows after that...
Great hockey with some amazing backstories for Montreal Price finally reaching his injury free potential Weber as elder statesman finally getting his shot. Young guns line (Suzuki/Tuffolli/Caufield) as well as babyfaced Kotkaniemi, showing Habs can score and have fun doing it. Perry bleeding ambitious grit Petry bloodshot and playing amazing Anderson and Staal as new additions cementing their role on a deeper than thought of team And of course the little heart of fire Gallagher, who's been snake bitten, but consistently makes the opposition goalie's life miserable and who's bruised body and face marks his dedication to the bleu, blanc et rouge. Many more to add here....
You should watch the W5 expose on Mitch Garber - in short, Montrealers are running most of the hotels and casinos in Vegas. Hence why so many Habs jerseys in the arena in the front row and in the boxes. And the reason for the OLE OLE chants tonight in Vegas.
I've checked and apparently a lot of shitty reffing on Montreal is usually in their own arena a lot of the times. I find it very strange that whenever their away the reffing is a lot better. Its like someone in Montreal is trying to sabotage this team.
Marchessault was comedy gold.. complaining for a penalty when he slashed Gallagher 3 times on the play.. Man it has to be tough winning all by yourselves when youre used to the refs trying to hand you the game on a silver platter. Btw good job by the refs tonight...
Like he said on interview you just gotta try push through it when commenting on refs. Too bad its always easy to talk, didnt see him spreading his arms to the refs after his baseball swing at Perry.
I wish vile players like Schitfele and Marchoke were out of the league. Marchoke can't take a check without putting his stick in the face of the opponent. And that slash to Perry, gashed for life, and no fine, no suspension. sickening.
Really well reffed game tonight, it was a good call on the non high stick, I’m sure the habs would want it to go their way as well in that situation. Mtl beat em fair and square, no asterisks. And that feels good for the habs
I was very happy with every call tonight, that reversed call was correct. Actually getting a game when the refs mostly let the players play. But actually make a line in the sand saying we dont want this getting ugly.
Every time I hear Shannon say “Welcome back”, I think of the old TV show Welcome Back Kotter. And now the Applebees commercial that uses the show’s theme song just came on the TV. Weird.
This confirms a feeling I had about Vegas that I started thinking during the Dallas series last year, when it truly matters, the Vegas Golden Knights offense disappears. Sure the generate some things, and they made it seem like it was getting close in the third for a bit, but for most of this game they just stopping doing things on offense, and give all the credit to Montreal, they are the reason for that, they played great. Vegas feels to me like a team that thinks a bit to highly of themselves and is forgetting about what’s important, in there run in 2018 there was this huge feeling of “let’s prove everybody wrong, we are more then what people think about us” and they did that, they proved us all wrong. Now however I feel they have bought into there own hype, they’re no longer that lovable feel good story that’s winning when it matters, there a team that sees themselves has better then the opponent, and when they get down get confused about how somebody like them could be losing to somebody like Montreal and end up acting like a bunch of pissed off apes up and down the ice. They are a team that hasn’t learned humility, thats the difference between somebody like Tampa and Vegas. Tampa used to be like Vegas, there scoring touch disappeared, they seemed to stop caring when it mattered and bought into there own hype, but now there humbled after getting swept by Columbus, and you know where that’s led Tampa? A Stanley cup win, getting to the third round the very next year, and being 12-0 after playoff loses over this and last years run, Tampa not only owns up to there mistakes and makes sure not to do them again, they accept that the other team has solved that so they change there strategy and adapt to the other team. Tampa doesn’t buy into there own hype, they only care about the cup, and it’s why they have there names engraved on the cup for the next 50 years, and Vegas does not. To take a further look at this let’s look at there playoff loses after the 2018 run, 2019 they lose to the Sharks in round two, they lose this series not because of there own doings but because of the refs sucking, THIS IS THE MOMENT VEGAS JUMPED THE SHARK (pun sorta not really intended, 50/50) after this point in Vegas eyes they deserved a cup, it doesn’t matter about getting there, at this point all they see is a cup that belongs to them, they don’t have the drive to win it because in there eyes, they had it. After making a cup run, and then getting prevented from a chance at another due to awful reffing the Vegas Golden Knights fully bought into there own hype. 2020, in the third round they get shut down by a Dallas team they were expected to steam roll, losing in 5. This series is similar to the one you see before you now, Vegas ran into a team not unlike the one they were in 2018, they wanted to prove everybody wrong, and had the goaltending to do it. Vegas offense collapsed and it seemed has though they didn’t care, in there eyes this wasn’t there fault, they were the better team, next year will be there year. This playoffs started off feeling like Vegas was going to do what they did against Dallas, they choked at the end of the season and let the Avs win the division, they held a 3-1 series lead but in what only can be described has Vancouver themed Deja vu, the Wild forced 7, although Vegas would win game 7 all seemed lose for Vegas against the Avs. After going down two nothing I will admit I thought it was happening again, Vegas was doing what they did against Dallas a round short, but then something changed, it finally seemed like Vegas had learned there lesson. They started to care, and by a lot, when it truly mattered it didn’t matter what the situation they got the puck behind the net, it was magic, four straight games of magic from the Vegas Golden Knights torching a Avs team that seemed unbeatable. This was not the same Vegas team from 2020, this wasn’t the same Vegas team from 2018, this was a new team, destined for greatness. But now all that’s left is the same thing from 2019, choking it all away to an inferior Montreal club. This has left me wondering where that team against Avs went, my theory is that they respected the Avs, they became humbled and realized the situation they were in against Colorado and turning a new leaf. Now is this series over? No(yes), if Vegas can learn humility, and truly learn that talk is cheap, and cups are expensive, then they can win. Stop worrying about how much you should be winning the series and just focusing on winning it, then they can do this. My final thoughts are this, maybe they didn’t beat the Avs, maybe the Avs just beat themselves the exact way Vegas is now.
I am uber impressed with the Habs "kids". Every game they learn, every game they improve. Gonna be great talents. Other players need to step up their game: Danault, Toffoli, Gallagher. What has happened to Gallagher? He can't seem to skate, pass, shoot, check - appears very tired; at least he should be throwing his weight around. This was the cleanest game of the series. Did the league warn the refs, who then warned the teams prior to play? Finally, some fair refs, fair play, yet VGK still held, sticked, x-checked and no calls, but at least not violent. Proves my point: if the games are fair, Habs can win, and can win game 6. Errant pucks are part of the game, but very happy to see no injury to the linesman.
Gallagher has never been a good skater/passer/shooter. He is a heart and soul guy who can bang in a few goals every now and then, but do not expect a lot from him in the skating shooting or passing department. He is definitely playing hurt as well which is probably why you don't see him being very physical either
@@MrBO55 yup, I'm also quite confident that his broken thumb is not fully healed, so that messes with things. I think he's still been making his presence felt, or he's making a point of getting into Pietro's face at the very least. Either way, that line is really being deployed in a shut-down capacity, so it makes sense that it's generating the fewest goals of the four lines.
Toffoli is doing great, danault’s soul job is to win face offs and go up against scoring lines, Gallagher is a puck retriever/grit player that forcheks hard and kills the clock. You named mtl players that are doing their jobs despite not scoring, and as long as they do that they are earning their keep, goals for them are just a bonus. And again toffoli is doing great lol.
Montreal Canadiens fans and fans of the NHL in general it is just so much fun and exciting to watch these 3 young guns you have Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Kasperi Kotkaniemi all being this young and playing amazing hockey on the biggest stage, none of this seems to faze them at all, in fact they seem to relish in it, and do not at all sky away in big moments, they strive on big games and big game situations they are put in, just playing incredible, and in the playoffs where some players play small they are coming up large constantly over and over again they are all 3 very special players now and are looking like potential super stars in the NHL for years to come, sign them all right now each one to an 8 year contract, franchise players the core of the Montreal team long term
if the finals wind up being Montreal vs tampa, with montreals penalty kill vs tampas power play, might make for a pretty interesting finals. kind of a irresistible force vs the immovable object type of cliché
that would be really epic to see that penalty kill against that powerplay can`t wait for it to happen let`s hope we see it although I am still hoping for MTL vs NYI hope Islanders can find a way to win these last 2 games and of course Canadiens can win one more game and close this out
Series not over yet but massive kudos to the Habs to this point. I thought Vegas would steamroll them and obviously was incredibly wrong. Amazing what they’ve done with Stone as he’s been basically non existent.
Can you explain "the trap" in detail please? And maybe even have a video where you compare well-known tactical styles and styles specific teams are known for? Would be a very interesting video @the Hockey Guy!
Lehner is an underrated solid goalie, he was a solid starter for the islanders before signing in vegas. I wouldnt be surprised if he carries his team to the final
When not a single team in the division finishes with less than 20 wins calling it a weak division is laughable. Every team in the North had to fight and grind for every point and that is part of why Montreal has been so successful. They've kind of been playing playoff hockey all season.
I was at the game and I agree the crowd was quiet, I jumped up to cheer with a handful of others and was scolded by someone behind me. Our fans are so fickle sometimes.
In 2015 I hated Corey Perry when the Ducks were playing the Hawks in the Conference Finals. Now seeing his leadership, drive, and willingness to grind during all these games have made me a huge Perry fan. I hope the Canadiens go to the finals, and I hope they win the cup. They are the true definition of an underdog and have a lot of NHL fans behind them. GO HABS.
I think you’re speaking for everyone haha it just feels unnatural cheering for Corey Perry but I can’t help it. Seeing Caufield point at him with that big smile on his face, you can tell this guy has been a huge influence as a leader on these young guys coming in who are having a ton of success themselves. They just look like such a team who appreciate every other guy. And that’s a recipe for success
As a habs fan, I was skeptical about perry when he joined the habs, but hoped he was done with dirty playing and just wanted to play hockey. Now I hope perry can stay for the next season at least.
@@chrisuncleahmad666 funny enough, if Vegas and Tampa meet in the final I doubt I’ll watch much of the series at all. I don’t want either of those teams to win so it’d be a lose-lose situation, ergo my emotional investment is next to none

5 take aways: 1. The officiating was better tonight. 2. I think that Price guy may be a pretty decent goalie. 3. Suzuki and Caufield have become two of my favorite players. 4. When Pietrangelo shoots I feel like he's going to score. 5. I feel That DeBoer may always be a bridesmaid.
my apologies to the habs and their fans for thinking they had no chance. The series sure stated to feel like Montreal is going to win the moment Suzuki poke checked stone for what would eventually be the caufield goal
Although this saying typically applies to another sport, “Defense wins Championships”, is proving itself accurate again during this series. VGK’s O has been all but shutdown, and VGK’s D has been asked to carry the entire series on their backs. Fleury is a HoF’er, but he is tired and the O isn’t producing. 2 games left, I think home ice advantage is irrelevant, and the team that wants it more will advance. Easier to play a game motivated then frustrated. I’m a VGK fan that knew nothing of the habs until this series. They’ve proven they deserve to be here. No BS storylines of refs, Patches vs Suzuki, etc. Just better team play. 2 games left…
Little bit of history for you. Lamourello modelled the Devils' game, when he was GM there, after the game of the 1970's Canadiens run by Bowman. That's what he is doing in Long Island.

I don’t think this is their last year but hey you know your team way more than I do so I’ll trust your word on it 🤷
Thanks for Top Tittie Tiffoli! He's been great all year.

Not a Montreal Fan but you know what? They deserve all the credit they are getting and more, I just hope my Isles can come back tonight and take it to 7, I hope they were watching the Habs last night.
The kids just stepping up...Suzuki, Caufield and Kotkaniemi on fire! Finally a Habs team that can score!
This is a great combination of experience and youthful talent. The Canadiens are a really good playoff team right now. Good hockey.
4 lines rolling like melted butter. Fun to watch huh :)
@@williamsullivan857 Couldn't agree more. You can tell by their interviews that they have really good chemistry.
And I gotta say that Suzuki has impressed me so much. Such a smart player.
I said it before this series...the Habs will give Vegas trouble with their defense and style of play....they are so annoying to play against...one more game Montreal...keep it up.
yayyyy i love being annoying go habs go lmao
@@fearlessleader8623 You get a like for Perry love. We miss him.
Thanks yes bud GLG
A wonderful assessment, well done. When it comes to the end its the goalie who wins it. Habs take the cup.
Dont jinx it.
Evans may not return at all this year. Schitzfilet should be expelled for a such a vicious hit.
Sincerely,
A sad golden knights fan
Did I just find the only respectable golden knights fan?? Wow! Haha but fr good luck for the rest of the series man 🤞🏼
I'm a habs fan but I disagree with what you said about Fleury. The first goal was definitely the defenders fault, and the 3rd one was stones fault. The last one was on the empty net on a turnover, so only one goal wasn't Vegas's fault.
WoW much respect for that! IF the habs end up winning tomorrow HOP on the wagon we accept everyone! GO HABS GO
@@neptunepriest he made some crazy ass saves as well. definitely wasn't off his game.
Fleury was on top of a lot of things, his team left him out to dry. Check out the Caulfield goal, Max Stone had every opportunity to get between Cole and Perry to stop that pass but he started slowing down. Vegas doing the Flower dirty
Hoping for a win on game 6 on Saint-Jean-Baptiste. So, so, so proud of these boys, we are really witnessing something special

And Vegas traded Suzuki for Pacioretty. Who looks smarter now? Montreal got so much from that trade and Vegas is regretting it now.

"Top to bottom, Vegas is the better team... but Montreal is playing better AS a team" well said Shannon, well said.
Helps that Montreal has the better goal tender though.
old saying in sports, it`s not always the best team that wins, it`s the team that plays the best that wins, or will beats skill, MTL is playing for a North division that most people said was by far the weakest division and they are playing for the whole country of Canada which hasn`t had a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup since 1993 when MTL won, they are definitely carrying the torch

Yeah, but I think they need to bring back Danault. He has been instrumental in this run, preventing just as many goals as the youngsters are scoring (if not more). Plz keep giving us the weather for every game I absolutely love it
Really well reffed game tonight, it was a good call on the non high stick, I’m sure the habs would want it to go their way as well in that situation. Mtl beat em fair and square, no asterisks. And that feels good for the habs
I was very happy with every call tonight, that reversed call was correct. Actually getting a game when the refs mostly let the players play. But actually make a line in the sand saying we dont want this getting ugly.
Habs fan: it's fine that it was a no call for a follow-through. All we want is a fairly called game. Please do that again for game 6. pleasssse.
Their offence can’t compare to the defence of the Habs, Go Habs Go
The Hockey Guy is the Best love to hear him go back through the full game, he does a great Job!!
Not bad for a Boston Fan!!
@@knightfall7534 yeah, Toffoli is literally their points leader so not sure where they're getting that from lol
@@knightfall7534 aha. thanks for opinion.
Montreal Canadiens fans and fans of the NHL in general it is just so much fun and exciting to watch these 3 young guns you have Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Kasperi Kotkaniemi all being this young and playing amazing hockey on the biggest stage, none of this seems to faze them at all, in fact they seem to relish in it, and do not at all sky away in big moments, they strive on big games and big game situations they are put in, just playing incredible, and in the playoffs where some players play small they are coming up large constantly over and over again they are all 3 very special players now and are looking like potential super stars in the NHL for years to come, sign them all right now each one to an 8 year contract, franchise players the core of the Montreal team long term
if the finals wind up being Montreal vs tampa, with montreals penalty kill vs tampas power play, might make for a pretty interesting finals. kind of a irresistible force vs the immovable object type of cliché
that would be really epic to see that penalty kill against that powerplay can`t wait for it to happen let`s hope we see it although I am still hoping for MTL vs NYI hope Islanders can find a way to win these last 2 games and of course Canadiens can win one more game and close this out
@@lawrencefrazier2044 yeah my hope was that at least one of mtl or nyi makes the finals
Series not over yet but massive kudos to the Habs to this point. I thought Vegas would steamroll them and obviously was incredibly wrong. Amazing what they’ve done with Stone as he’s been basically non existent.
Nobody expected Dallas to beat Vegas last year either.
betting lines saying Habs were bigger underdogs though......i remember cause i bet both series lol
Exactly! Dallasplays a different system but they showed one way to beat them. It's very doable.
Can you explain "the trap" in detail please? And maybe even have a video where you compare well-known tactical styles and styles specific teams are known for? Would be a very interesting video @the Hockey Guy!
Best game The Habs played all playoffs, in my book
true. usually, they play good for 2 periods and bad for 1 but game 5, they were good the whole game
So fun to see the hockey guy finally wrapping his head around how good the canadiens got in off season
I wonder why Vegas didn't keep Robin Lehner in net, it seems like the Habs have Fleury's number. That or Lehner is much calmer in the playoffs
Lehner is an underrated solid goalie, he was a solid starter for the islanders before signing in vegas. I wouldnt be surprised if he carries his team to the final
That was a mistake. Lehner should have absolutely been in net. Why do you take a goalie out after his win?
You are so thorough.. I’m always speechless
I really think this guy is the hardest working man on RUclips.
Guess the north division wasn't so weak after all.
Imagine a team like Toronto or Edmonton next year with how well they did with no fans this year
I mean it's not like Montreal played like this during the regular season
@@tychoncek There was always moments they did, but if you didn't watch every montreal game you wouldn't know.
@@tychoncek yeah they were saving it for when it counts
GO HABS.
He had a great game again
Awesome pass on first goal, so many defensive/puck battles he won, sometimes paying a heavy price
@@chrisuncleahmad666 why
Liked your comparison between Vegas’ crowd and the Islanders. I sincerely hope the new Islanders arena is able to maintain the atmosphere and intimacy of their current barn.
Habs fans should be careful taking a victory lap before its really over..
Thats why I keep myself calm and collected
Celebrating tonight, back to business tomorrow ready for thursday. Nothing is won.
we are taking a victory lap for game 5 not the series....
I don't think a single Habs fan is celebrating a series victory right now. WE were down 3-1 THIS playoffs....
@@roxanne1987r every game is a victory lap, because no one expected us to be here :)
Also, habs were winning a lot of puck battles and pokechecks. I think that was the main difference.
