Hi, I only recently joined Komoot, but have been doing cycle tours in northern France with friends for a few years (but not since 2019 for various reasons). Once in June, otherwise September. Last time Plymouth - Roscoff ferry, then along coast to St. Malo. Exactly as you say, including being hilly on a steel bike with panniers. Best hol you could have though! Enjoy your trip. Hoping to do something similar later in the year. Sure your vid will help and encourage anyone who hasn’t done it before. Agree whole-heartedly that the key is not to plan long days, but enjoy what your route has to offer.
Really helpful and you have inspired me to start cycle touring this year! You also have a natural and engaging manner in your YT videos. I expect you will get many more subscribers before too long!
Thanks and I'm so glad it's useful. Hooray for starting cycling touring! You're going to have such a great time, just remember to pause often for snacks.
Hi , very useful vid and thanks for the inspiration! I'm new to this and planning my first bikepacking adventure from Dieppe to Barcelona in a couple of months (not sure if its more than I can chew :) eek). Was wondering if I can trust Kamoot to take me on the best route ie shortest and mostly cycle routes. Sounds like I can! I dont have premium and cant see the purple lines you show. I'm also using cycle.travel but they show different routes. Maybe I should get premium. Thanks again
Oooo what a great adventure that'll be! You'll have such a good time. You can always find paper maps too to help with pre-trip route planning - if you get up to date ones then I imagine they'd show major cycle routes and maybe even the tractor roads in France. Komoot Premium is ideal for me, but I'm obviously biased as I work for them too. And remember, no matter what happens, there's always a boulangerie nearby to have a rest at and eat a croissant.
Hi Kit, I've just recently joined Komoot (not Premium version), as I am planning a couple of months of bike touring in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, & Germany in 2025. I don't get the Euro Velo purple routes showing up ?? Do I need Premium for that ? Thx
Hi! Yes, that's a Premium feature (it's a feature called sport-specific maps). Technically if you put your start point in Roscoff for instance and your end point in Nantes, it would automatically plot you along the eurovelo that joins them, even without Premium. But to actually see them on the map you need Premium (they'd also then be on the map when you navigate). What an amazing trip you're planning, so exciting!

Really interesting, thanks for this ! Happy camping!
very nice/helpful video!!
Such a useful video. I'm new to Kamoot and I'm going to Britanny next year. Double result 👍
Ah I'm so pleased it was helpful! Have an awesome time in Brittany 😁
I’m planning a trip through the same area in 2024 and found this incredibly helpful. Thanks for putting this together!
I'm so pleased! I hope you have a wicked adventure over there next year 😀
Very helpful. Thanks
Enjoyed your comments about not feeling the need to ride 50-60+ miles per day.
I'm so glad! It's such an important thing for me to enjoy a cycle tour :-D

@@kitpascoe haha, oh goody, that's what I'm looking forward to most. Thanks, might get premium too. 😊

Apologies! i found it. Had to edit tour first which I was avoiding from the warning given. Silly me. Bit fik :)
Ah, the 'editing this might break other Tours in the Collection' type warning? Yes, just push through that. It's talking about start and end points 😁
Thank you!🤩 @@kitpascoe
