It is Michael Goldrick on flute, Jerry is playing the dobro as he usually does. The nameless mandola player is also holding his instrument left handed BTW.
It must be - I know he often plays on these sessions. I called him nameless because his name is not listed. He would be playing bouzouki although on that video you can't see the full length of the neck. Phil Cunningham also plays a bouzouki on the Transatlantic Sessions, but he plays right handed and it is a very different instrument1 with a much larger sound box.
you know I have been hearing so much about this guy and how great he is, but man wheres the soul. Is too clean of oldtime fiddling a good thing, what would Tommy Jarrel have to say about this fellow I wonder.
Love the tune, the arrangements & we're big Bruce Molsky fans! 5 stars!
Great tune and great performing!
Just lifting:)))!
What else can one wait from these guys;)))?

Yup... it's a goodun'... and i like your CH version as well. Cheers, Ken.
@JohnSelma
Forgive me if I am mistaken, but Phil Cunningham plays a Cittern, not a bouzouki, which accounts for the larger sound box and more strings.
Fantastic!!
Wonderful!

Now I'm about to start learning it!!!!!

understatement.
Cookin'!!
That nameless mandola player (who, I think, is playing bouzouki) is Donal Lunny =)
Brilliant. *****
I taught my 3-year old to "Head-Bang" to this...you should see it. HILARIOUS!
I also saw Donal Lunny, the left-handed bouzouki player in this RUclips video.
Why is Jerry Douglas holding the flute that way? The flute is supposed to go out to the right, not the left. Is the Irish flute different?
@frenchfiddlegirl Excuse me, I mean Michael McGoldrick
I believe Ali Bain is there too !
What a brilliant bouncy session
You were right. He is. I saw him in this video.

Nice version, but I like Rachel's version at Cliff Top better. It just seems to have more balls to it. Bruce is one fine fiddler though.
