First video I see on my RUclips algorithm! Your sarcasm and witty remarks really make me laugh. It's relatable to what I think of these games. Thank you very much, John!
The gameplay was meh, but I liked the message behind it. The game showed that the main character was having a difficult relationship with her mother and the girl she encountered seemed to have an even more difficult home life. Also, now that I finished watching the video, the little kids talking about the good times they had with their mothers makes more sense. I would imagine that hearing them talk about how loving their moms are would trigger jealousy, discontentment and sadness within the protagonist. And then at the end the mom apologizes to her daughter. So inconclusion I think it was a bittersweet game.

I feel like with a little bit more clarity, focus, and debugging, this game could've been up there. The minimal details were good for the story in the beginning, where a link between the girls is established, but the player is curious to know more, but when it came to reasoning or instruction for mechanics or later parts of the story, it seemed more like wandering through a funhouse with a blindfold, unable to tell why anything is happening. I really liked the idea of having o give up the Harae after getting it, but the open map didn't really offer any moments that made it feel like sacrificing a lifeline, so much as losing something very convenient. The emotional end mostly landed, but I think more story context could have helped. Yeah, in my native language we use an entirely different word for the ground floor (and it can be translated exactly as ground floor in English). However, we have a completely different word for all the other floors and that word in itself -through conjugation- implies that those floors are above the ground level. So it wouldn’t make sense to use that same word for the ground floor.
Ok.. 20:10 was a lil spooky with her running up on him all quick like. Followed by me dying with laughter when she turns and runs face first into a damn street sign an falls down.
Most of Chilla's games have the themes of children disappearing and some monster or antagonist chasing the player, but what if they made a game, which connects all this lore? What if it's all some kind of cursed city or something? Well, either way, appreciate you John, for playing this. Hope you are having a good time, resting and looking forward to more DBD streams. Also, "Forewarned" is pretty cool co-op.
As a rule of thumb, game developers have told present the home/home town of the protagonist in the daylight on a normal (threat-free) day first so players can get acquainted with the location, before forcing you to flee from a monster in an unfamiliar environment. As John keeps saying: I DON'T LIVE HERE. It's the devs job to introduce you to the map, at least, when the gameplay expects you to navigate it confidently. Similar problem with the previous game..
Little kids telling stories is one thing but my 6yo Nephew trying to roast my cousin because he lost in a video game is another story. Nephew : "You remind me of a Green Bean, I'm going to call you Green Bean" Cousin : "What?! Why Green Bean??" Nephew : "Because I HATE Green Beans!! Always fun to see John play through another Chilla's Art game. The long legged creature is kinda funny ngl but annoying. I hope we get to see John play through Dark Deception's new chapter as well when he gets the time. Nonetheless great video. Can't wait for what's next!
"This ghost has legs for days but no chill" Well I find that hard to believe, all she has on is a skirt
The amount of times I’ve heard John go in depth about how the first floor isn’t the same first floor in other countries besides the U.S.
I laughed so hard at your zoomed in comment at 33:40 about how the first floor should be the first floor. You know what I mean 😂
John, when she first appeared that shit was hilarrrrrrrious!
John is spoiling us with the uploads, I'm crying
Love your channel John. Been watching for years and I never miss an upload! This game was so odd but your commentary makes it worth it
Ok.. 20:10 was a lil spooky with her running up on him all quick like. Followed by me dying with laughter when she turns and runs face first into a damn street sign an falls down.
Oh snap, nice John. Excited to watch this one!
11:10 Well i didn't expect a 'potato' sticker collectible in Chilla's Art game. Very nice touch!
Charlotta is the name. From a browser game.
Little kids telling stories is one thing but my 6yo Nephew trying to roast my cousin because he lost in a video game is another story.
Nephew : "You remind me of a Green Bean, I'm going to call you Green Bean"
Cousin : "What?! Why Green Bean??"
Nephew : "Because I HATE Green Beans!! YOU SUCK!!"
*Everyone laughs and now Green Beans is an insult* 🤣🤣
I legit almost spit out my dinner when I saw her gliding across the floor while getting up.
okay but the amount of video youre uploading these days? love it. keep up the good work!
I started fucking cackling at the child storytelling impression. I work in childcare and that was so painfully accurate
so Chillas Art finally made a horror game with an antagonist instead of the vague sense of dread and fear.
And it was terrible
i work with kindergartners and yeah pretty spot on impression john lol
Anyone else think the locker opening cutscenes was very Deadly Premonition for some reason? Just needed the progression jingle.
Apparently Japan has a certain appeal to freakisly tall girls/women. First Hachiskakusama, then Alcina Dimitrescu, and now a giant school girl.
Oh no she’s been so deprived she thinks the toilet is her mother
the creaky door sound is so funny to me lmao
Always love your videos, John! The title had be laughing before even starting the video ahaha! Also those kid's stories are absolutely spot on, my neighbor's child talks like that all the time!
Love when John plays a chilla’s art game.
22:09 HAHAHA that was the best part bro
edit: actually no that random kitty video in the credits was pretty great too
I love your videos, its a huge comfort. Whenever im down i can always click to your channel and laugh ^^ thank you John
when I was a child I wrote an exciting story about a girl wanting to meet her friend but then she had to first ask her mum, so she did, and then they played all day
I'm a Kindergarten Teacher and your impression of the kid telling a story had me rolling. Its an almost perfect impression.
